With my small business, I've worked with many lawyers over the years and always had a bad experience (i.e. they billed me 5x the initial quote without any warning during the process, they gave me incorrect advise so that I would pay for something unnecessary, etc.) Finally, I was referred to Jeanilou, and although I only met with her for a consultation, I could tell she actually cares about small businesses and what is best for the client. After spending hours reviewing our documents and speaking with us, she ended up advising us not to move forward with our case. She didn't take a retainer and there was no hidden bill. She also did not make me feel stupid for past mistakes or for not understanding something and rather took the time to listen to my concerns and then kindly explain the best solution. The only downside is that I wish I had found her sooner! Highly recommend!

I was struggling with an Employment situation which involved forged documents and communication from people purporting to be from a well-known company based in California. A month ago, I had FOUR traffic tickets issued to me, at one time, by a gang of mentally-ill Suffolk County police-officers—the total points of which would equal EIGHT, had I been found guilty.
I am so very grateful that I choose David to represent me in court; he was able to have two tickets dismissed entirely and the other two reduced to mere parking violations! I had a very disappointing experience with Yazdani Law, LLC, Columbus, OH. Despite paying for their services in full, they mishandled my case by submitting incorrect documentation, leading to delays and unnecessary stress during the visa process. To make matters worse, they demanded extra money beyond the agreed-upon contract amount, claiming it was for unforeseen circumstances—issues that should have been anticipated with proper diligence.
Their lack of accountability and professionalism was evident throughout. They acted as if they were providing a free service, despite the significant fees I paid. Instead of acknowledging their errors, they attempted to mask their mistakes by blaming and suppressing.
I do not recommend this lawyer or firm to anyone seeking reliable immigration assistance.

I was referred to Attorney Melanie Fenwick Thompson from an another attorney that couldn’t take my case because of the county I reside in. That attorney referred me to Attorney Melanie Fenwick Thompson. Melanie and her team provided me with a quick detailed consultation so that I could explain my case and she explained my options. Her and her team are very thorough and got my divorce moving fast. All our communication was done on there client portal for tracking purposes which really helped. This way if I couldn’t remember something I could always go back to my portal. It took about 8 months to get my divorce finalized and everything was done via email communication through the portal. Prior to hiring Attorney Melanie Thompson, I made the mistake of hiring a cheap lawyer who cost me way more than money. Because I made the mistake of hiring the wrong lawyer, I had over 3 different judges look at me as a person with no dignity, no integrity, no honor, which almost caused me to lose custody of both my children (ages 1 and 4 months). If I could give zero stars, I would. This attorney is, without question, the most unprofessional and incompetent individual I've ever worked with. Not only did she completely mishandle our immigration cases, but she also demonstrated an alarming lack of knowledge and expertise at every turn. She charged us exorbitant fees while delivering absolutely no results--just empty promises and excuses.
When we started questioning her work and requested a refund for her failures, she blatantly ignored us, blocked all communication, and refused to take any responsibility for her actions. What kind of professional behaves this way? If she can't even handle her own business and treat her clients with respect, how can she possibly help anyone else with theirs?
Disappointed but not surprised that other people who have left reviews seem to have experienced the same mistreatment. It's clear that this pattern of incompetence and negligence is not an isolated incident. She has repeatedly proven that she cannot be trusted to handle her clients' legal matters.
This is someone who clearly prioritizes taking money over delivering results or providing any real legal support. Her lack of accountability and ethics is appalling, and I can only hope others avoid falling victim to her greed and deception. If you're considering her services, run--don't walk--in the other direction. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration of dealing with someone who has no business practicing law.

I had an EEO case and felt very lost. I reached out to a previous law firm before Pitre and Associates, I did not have much faith in them. I continued researching and came across Pitre & Associates. My case was lengthy but it was handled and walked away with what was necessary. My dignity, and being able to apply for the gov with a new, clean SF-50. Overrides all they (the opponents)attended to do to my career. Was also compensated for damages.
Pros: you will come out with something good amd benefitial with Pitre & Associates.
Cons: It can get costly. Stand up for what you believe in, but be ready to spend some coins. The great thing is Mr. Pitre fights for you to get that money back. Thank you God!!
I would certainly hire the firm again. I recommend the firm to anyone feeling lost and dealing with an EEO, Harrassment, hostile work environment, discrimination. I pray, I never get in a position like that again. It was emotionally draining. Michelle was my fave attorney, although I did not have her for too long. It is not just a job to her, she cares for people. I sensed that. Mr. Pitre is extremely knowledgeable and extremely responsive; he became my other fave at the end.
My wish is: I had found them sooner for some advice before I had even attempted to deal with this. I was high risk pregnant in a very unhealthy situation. Some professional guidance would have helped. They are on my emergency call list if I come across something like this again.....God willing.
