There is nothing worse than having one of your children precede you in death. When my daughter died she wanted me to be her personal representative in the execution of her will; Wendy made the complicated process easy and seamless for me. After I was discharged as personal representative once everything was completed I found other assets belonging to my daughter and I did not hesitate to hire Wendy for a second time. The only regret I have is that I did not go with Sekella Law sooner. I used another attorney first time around and it was night and day once I signed on with Heather. I reached out to Heather regarding a fairly complicated post-divorce, post-alimony dispute related to health insurance coverage for my ex-spouse.
After an initial consultation where she educated me as to the uniqueness of my situation, she described a path forward that would provide closure. Though the issue took over a year to resolve (due mostly to the pandemic) I felt that Heather was attentive to my needs and generally cost-conscious in her approach.
In the end things went against me financially which, while unfortunate, was always a possibility. However she did achieve my primary goal of finality without having to go through a trial, so overall I was satisfied which the approach Heather took.

If not for Jeremy Piggott, I am sure I would still have squatters living in my home. After two months of excuses why rent was not paid and yet they could not move out, my property manager suggested I call Piggott, Piggott & Kearce. From my first phone call, I knew this practice was professional, serious, efficient, and would get the job done. In fact, Jeremy was on vacation, but he called me within an hour. In 30 minutes, we had a plan. He sent the first document right after we hung up. Jeremy checked in with me several more times during his vacation. I knew exactly what was supposed to happen at every stage, and it did, exactly when it said it would. The delivery and follow-up of several documents resulted in the tenants vacating in less than three weeks after my first phone call to Piggott, Piggott & Kearce. I hope I never have to do this again, but if do, or if anyone I know has an issue with tenants, this is only firm I would use or recommend.

I have used Lisa in the past as my attorney, and thought that she did such a fantastic job. I interviewed dozens of lawyers, and I hired one who was soothing but turned out to be incompetent. She was not only a waste of money, she left me hanging with a trial date that was approaching fast. My divorce started with a different attorney. A firm I will not name here who honestly took a great deal of my money with very little oversight. I received a referral to Sean and I'm so glad I made the switch. You can't prepare for divorce so I was blind sided and hadn't done my research. I wish I had started my divorce with Sean as my attorney. He listed to me and was able to see my side and advocate what was best for me and my daughter. I will forever be thankful to him in remembering all the details of my case. We didn't have to rehash everything every time we met. Sean was so efficient every time we met and also very sincere. He made himself available and he always gave me both sides of an argument and he prepared me every step of the way. I settled my divorce and child custody case with my ex-husband and I feel that it was fair. I wasted so much money in the beginning by not using an attorney such as Sean. I am an attorney and am familiar with litigation. I retained an attorney to file a divorce proceeding, and that attorney did nothing but bill me for work that did not move the case forward. Fed up, I was referred to Sean Patrick Joyce. What a breath of fresh air. Mr. Joyce took immediate action, was a great communicator, and effectively utilized his terrific paralegal. In a matter of weeks, Mr. Joyce resolved issues, moved the case forward and obtained a stipulated judgment for me. Tim was the hired attorney who represented me during a very contentious time with my son's mother over the details of our child support and time sharing agreement which had to be amended during a career transition 10 years ago. He represented me strongly and I felt that my best interests were always being looked out for. Recently, I consulted Tim again as my son has decided to reside with me for the remainder of his time in high school. Tim gave me excellent advice on how best to achieve this without incurring excessive financial burden. He referred me to a Mediator who was able to help me achieve this goal without officially involving attorneys for this cycle. I have been involved in a contentious custody dispute with my daughters father. We were never married. My daughter is 8 years old now. Several years ago the court awarded sole legal and physical custody to me based upon substantiated findings of domestic violence.
Recently, my daughters father filed a motion for change of custody. The court appointed Randi Susan Klein as minors counsel to represent the best interest of my daughter. Ms. Klein interviewed my daughter, myself and her father privately. She read through documents in the court file, as well as other pleadings my lawyer sent to her. When we arrived in court, I had no idea what her recommendation was going to be.
Ms. Klein recommended in my favor. She explained to the Judge, step by step, why my daughter should remain in my custody. While she was talking, the judge was carefully listening to her. He was shaking his head in agreement. As a result of Ms. Klein's hard work and presentation, the judge dismissed the fathers motion.
I was so relieved that I cried tears of joy. Ms. Klein was a very strong voice for my child and she was well prepared. I am so grateful that the court appointed her to be my daughters lawyer.

My daughter is involved in a contentious custody battle with her child's father. Her daughter, my grand-daughter, is 8 years old. There was a court hearing this morning. I went with my daughter to court this morning to support her.
When my grand daughter was very young, her father beat my daughter and threatened to take my grand daughter away from her. My grand daughter witnessed the beatings. My grand daughter is still in therapy sorting out how this affected her. The father also prevented me from seeing my grand daughter until she was 9 months old. Eventually my daughter got civil and criminal restraining orders against the father. Now he is only allowed supervised visits.
Recently the father filed a motion for change of custody. The court appointed Randi Susan Klein as minors counsel to represent my grand daughter. Today was the hearing for the court to rule on the father's motion. Ms. Klein was a very strong advocate for my grand daughter. She explained to the court, in a very logical and passionate way, why my granddaughter should remain in my daughter's custody.
Neither my daughter nor myself knew, ahead of time, what Ms. Klein would be recommending to the court. She was eloquent. She understood both the legal and the emotional issues and explained how that impacted our family. I cried when I listed to her in court.
The court dismissed the father's motion for a change of custody.
I am very relieved and very grateful to Ms. Klein. Because of her hard work and commitment, my granddaughter will continue to be safe and to get the professional help that she needs.
Ms. Klein was amazing & did a Great job, I Highly recommend her for anyone seeking Minors Counsel, she is the Best !!!

I interned at Barnes Law Group when I thought that I wanted to be a Family Law attorney. While interning at the office I got to witness firsthand the internal workings, their services, and their staff. I can tell you that this staff puts a tremendous amount of work, attention, and strategy behind everything they do. Communications about clients’ cases, the weaknesses and how to better posture the case occupied most of the internal conversations amongst the people working there. A woman I hadn't seen in years tried to collect child support monies from me for a kid that wasn't mine. I hadn't spoken to the woman in years. My girlfriend said I urgently needed an attorney. I contacted Attorney Barnes who explained how my wages could be garnished and I could even be put in jail for nonpayment of child support if I don't dna test and prove I am not the father. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, but after she showed me the law, I took the test and proved I wasn't the father. I'm glad I followed Attorney Barnes advice and left crazy in the rear view mirror. Highly recommend this attorney and firm.

I could not be happier with the service I received from Attorney Carol Barnes and Barnes Law Group. Everyone at Barnes Law Group was able to answer my questions when I called. When I sent an email, I always received an answer on the same day and most emails were answered within the hour. When I first spoke with Attorney Barnes, she outlined a strategy for handling my case. My case was handled successfully, and as Attorney Barnes had originally discussed. I received a bill each month for the work that was done on my case and the bills reflected the strategy originally agreed to. Ultimately, Attorney Barnes was able to settle the case without us having to go to trial. While I was relieved that we did not go to trial, I am confident that we would have won if we did. I was very scared when I first retained Barnes Law Group. Lee Strickler represented me in a nasty divorce with factors including high income, business ownership, multiple properties, and false accusations. She stood by me for the entire nine year maintenance agreement where I needed her assistance from time to time. With all the cases she has, she never forgot mine. At the end of the maintence agreement my ex tried to modify, and as always, Lee was on it, strong, on point, knew Colorado law and applicable case law, and we had a favorable outcome, meaning it's over!

I can't begin to state enough positive things about Mike. My divorce was extremely contentious. My ex-wife lost her custodial parenting rights. She was not even awarded court supervised visits with my children. My ex went through three attorneys, while Mike continued to be a stabilizing influence, advocate and voice of reason through the most difficult time in my life. Mike immediately responded to calls, messages and even texts. He was very open, honest and did not present false, or unlikely outcomes. Quite honestly, Mike is very much a person who over delivers. We had a terrible Guardian ad litem assigned to my divorce. The GAL was absolutely determined to have the kids remain with their mother, even though she was the perpetrator of unspeakable child abuse. Mike managed this issue in a wonderful manner, assured the kids were well protected and that I was well represented. Mike's rates are fair. There is absolutely no over billing. I highly recommend Mike! Also, the staff at Chapski Law was always kind and very responsive. All very good people to work with!

The law firm took a team approach and while most of my case was expertly handled by Terry DeSalvo Jr, along with his efficient paralegal Michelle Wilson, I was also helped on a number of occasions by Alex Peterson. My case primarily focused on child custody and Terry did a fantastic job implementing an aggressive strategy to uncover and document my ex's issues. Jamie represented my family for our adoption in Pinal County. It had been a rocky few years to get to that point, and when it came time for the adoption to happen, we were in the middle of the pandemic and our hearts were broken, that it was going to happen over the phone. She and her staff arranged to do the adoption via Zoom, and we got to see the Judge and her in person. It was very thoughtful, and meant a lot to our family! She provided us with a packet of forms, and realistic time frames for how to get things done after the adoption was final, and even help fix the mistakes the court made when they misplaced some of our paperwork.
