Aaron is one of the hardest working lawyers that one could find. He brings intellect and discipline from his twelve years as an Intelligence Officer for the United States Marine Corps to a firm bulging with talent. The years he spend a prosecutor in Denver prepared him well to be a truly great trial attorney. He always puts his clients first and fiercely protects their interests while maintaining an impeccable reputation for his ethics and trustworthiness among the judges.

I hired Mr. Butin for an embarrassing legal matter that I thought was going to be impossible and expensive. I have never heard of anyone beating such charges. I never had to appear in court which was nice since I live out of town. It took 11 months but the charges were dropped.

My son attacked myself and his siblings repeatedly. The last time he accused us of abusing him. DFCS got involved and it did not look good for us. We hired Alton Johnson as our attorney to help us fight these false allegations against us. DFCS was wanting to as the old saying goes “Throw the book at us”. We were looking at child abuse registry and all my children being taken away. All the allegations were FALSE. Mr. Johnson went to work for us and was able to clear our good names. My other children were not taken from us and we never even had to go to court. DFCS closed the case and no charges or anything else were brought against us. Thank you Mr. Johnson

Assistant Kathy is outstanding and helpful. Craig has a background in public defense and is deeply committed and knowledgeable about both of our case areas, DUI and DV. One of the only attorneys in Yavapai Co. specializing in DV. Court and prosecutors both recommended him, it is really saying something to have opposing lawyers think highly of you, they are a tough audience! Other attorneys won't even touch misdemeanors as they are all about the money, Craig is smart, experienced and caring and will work with you on the finances if you aren't rich.

Sean took on what appeared to be an impossible case to win because of lies told to grand jury and won it by getting to the truth and allowing witnesses to discredit themselves. He is soft spoken, dignified and confident. He won over the jury which found Mr. M. not guilty of all charges.

Client Testimonial for Ingrid Alt, LLC January 28, 2015 When it comes to Ingrid Alt, LLC you can disregard all of the “bad attorney” jokes that you ever heard! Unfortunately, I found myself in need of a defense attorney. When I asked around for a referral Ingrid’s name consistently came up as the best, so I hired her. Upon working with Ingrid, I can now attest that she is excellent in every way. She is competent, highly skilled and personable. I felt that Ingrid genuinely cared about my case and my well-being throughout the legal process. Hopefully you will never need a defense attorney. However, if you do I strongly recommend Ingrid Alt, LLC. Anonymous Client

Ms. Sage provided excellent counsel during a difficult time, and I only wish I had let her prove her skills by taking my case to trial. I was persuaded to plead my case down, only because circumstances would have ensured a prison sentence had I been found guilty, but in hindsight, I know she would have stopped at nothing to win my case. She is a fair minded, very intelligent lady who presents herself like an experienced pro in the courtroom.

November, 2023 Thank you Attorney Anthony Naro, Esq. August 11th, 2023, came the call, ‘Go outside and enjoy the sunshine… it’s over’. These were the words from my lawyer telling me that the worst nightmare of my life had finally ended. Attorney Anthony “Tony” Naro, Esq. saved my life. In the two years prior to that call, I had lost everything; my career, my reputation, my apartment, my trust in people, my health, my identity and most of my friends. The fact that I knew I was innocent could not fight off the constant, intrusive thoughts of fear. You see, I was accused of an awful crime that I did not commit. Unfortunately, as I quickly found out, the majority of people tend to believe whatever they hear and/or see without any need for convincing. You are deemed GUILTY by most who view the lies and distortions on the news, in print, and in conversations they have with others. You are “presumed innocent until proven guilty” is one of the most abhorrent of lies tangled into our need to believe that we can’t just fall victim to an accusation. Once accused, you quickly learn that this belief of assumed innocence is not true at all. Tony Naro was there for me in so many ways throughout the whole process. He kept me updated and informed of every detail. He was incredibly responsive to my calls and emails. He never kept me waiting to hear back from him. He was understanding and compassionate over and beyond any expectation you may have from your lawyer. He listened to me express my fears and truly understood the depth of darkness I was feeling. He understood when I, on more than one occasion, broke down into tears in his office. He made that ok for me to do. He never misled me or gave me false hopes. He was honest and direct about where we were at along the way through the legal process. He knew every expert to hire to solidify our case and give the evidence to prove my innocence. He knew and pursued all the right legal angles to provide an impenetrable defense. How do you show gratitude to someone like him? I can’t imagine what might have happened if I did not have Tony representing me. There really are no words that can fully encapsulate my thankfulness to Attorney Naro “Tony”. Tony gave me my faith back. I am reminded of a Psalm; Psalm 40: “He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock”.

Dennis Walters represented me in one of the hardest (according to Dennis) divorce/custody) cases he has ever tried. My wife used every dirty trick in the book, from restraining order to accusations (2 months later) of sexual abuse of our little kids...once we were almost all the way through (11+ month) the judge used the term "NUCLEAR BOMB" in reference to, were the allegations mother had made true or mother's NUCLEAR BOMB" TO KEEP FATHER FROM SEEING HIS KIDS! MOTHER'S ACCUSATION was much stronger that a NUCLEAR BOMB, it was a HYDROGEN BOMB, obliterating absolutely everything! I have been treated worse that a convicted pedophile (no charges were ever filed and I cooperated fully on all fronts) my rights to my kids, house (4000 sq' 9 miles from Aspen, CO), property, tools (unable to make a living), guns (constitutional right), and my life and reputation have been taken away due only to Mother's accusation. She Amy Carter BSN Aspen Valley Hospital was arrested 2/13/2004 for domestic violence against me (she called 911)...she turned the tables and used/abused the system and Aspen Response for Women coached he how to lie TO GET THE DESIRED RESULTS. It is hurting the kids, she wants to be vindictive against me. She has only allowed me to see our 5 y.o. boy and our 3 y.o. girl for 49 hours in the past 11 months, AND I WAS THE STAY AT HOME DAD! Dennis and I have had a difficult up hill battle to the tune of $54,000 in 11 months....we are currently waiting for the judge Daniel Petre to decide final orders. Judge Petre is very busy, seems very good, honest, and thorough and has given him self until 1/21/2014 to decide this very difficult divorce. Amy Carter does not let my parents speak to the kids, but her mother "talks to them 2 or 3 times a week". That is a direct quote jOYCE, AMY'S MOTHER form testimony. Dennis WALTERS HAS DONE THE BEST HE CAN, AN EXCELLENT JOB, AND WE HOPE JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL! I AM waiting to see if we have a justice system, a legal system, or a LEGAL EXTORTION SYSTEM?

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
