On a good day Guardianship can be confusing and challenging, especially for a new Guardian. Kim Jinks provided me with excellent legal services over a 3 year period and counting. I went through an extremely high conflict divorce, which came with its fair share of emotional roller coasters making a straight-shooting lawyer absolutely necessary to keep me from falling off the deep end. This is the type of lawyer you see in the movies where you actually put your full trust in your lawyer, and it was absolutely worth it. I was in court at least eight times. Custody issues with multiple children, ex in-law drama, you name it. Kim made herself available to me for whatever I needed. I shopped around for lawyers (paying all of them a consultation fee) and it was very clear to me that I would have a good working relationship with the Jinks Law Firm. I watched my ex go through five lawyers while mine was highly intelligent, consistent, and persistent (my ex’s clearly were none of those things). She is 100% honest (brutally, sometimes) and I cannot imagine where my life would be right now had I not hired her at the start of my divorce. Anyways, I used Roman for a complexed business sale which consisted of the sale of shares, conversions, promissory notes and many other obstacles. After being referred to this agency by the Florida Bar Lawyer Referral Agency I connected with Attorney Carpenter and he did a fantastic job at addressing my concerns and answering my questions regarding my case. Look no further, Paula and her team ( Matt ) will get the job done right for you with experience, knowledge, compassion, and trust. My now ex wife was so problematic and full of unnecessary bullying and threating tactics of litigation over a pin drop. I was emotionally exhausted and unsure of the unsettled waters that were on the horizon for me. I handed the reigns over to Paula and she delivered not only in silencing my ex wife, and negotiations with opposing council, but in the court room as well. I hired Paula at the beginning of my divorce and then found another attorney. I was not happy with her turn around time / ability to multi-task. She would tell me she needs a week to get back because she is busy with one case. Also I believe I could have avoided a Sapeena if she had submitted my pay stubs to OPC earlier.
The other aspect that did not work out for me is accuracy in communication, granted I am a bit of a detail-oriented control freak. I had provided specific text to change and she did not merge it, more than once.
At the time she worked for me (2017) her rates were the cheapest I had seen. The best part being the minimum billable is 1/10 of hour, not 2/10.
I have no doubt others may be satisfied with her services.

Hiring appropriate counsel for family matters can be an extremely intimidating & daunting task. Last year, my husband & I were saddled with said task due to an inevitable court battle. This would be my first experience going to court and to say I was fearful would be an understatement. The unavoidable reality was that this court ruling could & would change the trajectory of my daughter’s and subsequently, my life.
My husband suggested we meet with the associates at Baer Romain & Ginty. So I set up an interview to see whether this firm was right for us. My initial conversation was with Jennifer Hulnick. She was a straight shooter, which I really appreciated. She told me the reality of the situation and not want I wanted to hear. She was also punctual, understanding, very informative and knowledgeable about the law. We had plans to move forward with her as our counsel but due to scheduling conflicts, Stephen Baer ultimately represented my husband & I in our upcoming court case.
I met Stephen the morning of our first court hearing. Although we didn’t have time to meet in person prior to this, he made sure I was ready for the proceedings via phone & email.
That first meeting marked the beginning of our client-attorney relationship that lasted several months. During this period, I found Stephen to be beyond thorough, courteous and attentive. Rebecca Billick is a very competent and organized family law attorney. She maintains a very fair fee structure (seriously). Stig helped me mediate a difficult divorce. I should say "helped us", since he showed complete impartiality, and only had the goal of an equitable settlement in mind. During the process, he frequently stated that we would know we were successful if neither of us walked away completely happy, and also that, despite feeling discouraged, everything really was going to be alright. I can say in hindsight that I was not completely happy with the result, and I'm guessing neither was my ex-wife (...thus proving his point that the settlement was equitable), but also that, a year and a half later, everything really is alright. I want to thank Stig greatly for getting us both through this difficult time, and I would heartily recommend him to anyone else requiring a truly professional mediator with a very big heart.

I highly recommend using Stig as a divorce mediator. If you have to get a divorce, a mediated divorce is much better than a court judged divorce - a trial divorce could easily cost another $30,000 and more in court/lawyer/testimony fees for each party.
I was in a very difficult and dragged on, over two years, divorce tangle. My Ex-husband abandoned his family. He simply took off one day without any discussions about the 28 year marriage. I was in shock while he hired a lawyer and tried to scam me to the terms he offered.
He missed many pre-trial hearings while his second lawyer trash talked, provoked, and prevented the formation of a out-of-trial divorce agreement. It was not until when my ex-husband has almost used up his $30,000 pre-paid lawyer fee, he was willing to try mediation.
Stig knew divorce laws very well, both my ex-husband and I trusted his assessments and judgments. He tried to be fair to both parties, and worked very professionally, diligently, and swiftly in creating and modifying the mediation documents. We had so many last minute disagreements, phone calls and emails, but Stig was willing to stay and work with us to iron out the differences. He treasured and highlighted any positive interactions we gave to each other during our mediation sessions. We finally came to a divorce agreement half an hour before our final pre-trial court time, after the three of us have finished a two-hour conference call while I was at the court house.
Now my divorce was final and I have been trying to recover. I really felt it was much less stressful and much economic to me to have a mediated divorce. This was like having a controlled landing, mediated divorce, over a crash landing, court judged divorce. I considered myself lucky to have a mediated divorce.
Do yourself a favor, appoint Stig to mediate for you. Stig moves "mountains" in divorce cases!

I was entangled in a long and drawn out post-divorce decree matter with my ex-husband for close to two years with a different law firm. I spent thousands of dollars and got nowhere. A friend recommended Todd because he can practice in both Michigan and Ohio, which met my needs. Throughout the years of working with Todd, I have found him to be good listener, very personable, effective communicator, and very thorough with details. I reached out to Mr. Venick for his counsel on a separation agreement and for advice regarding discriminatory treatment I had experienced from my direct manager.
Mr. Venick was out of town when I initially reached out and wouldn't be available until at least a week from my initial contact. As I was under a time constraint I was anxious to meet with him. I shared that with his staff who apparently made sure Mr. Venick was aware of this. Mr. Venick was very responsive upon his return and scheduled a meeting with me on his 2nd day back in the office.
During this 1st meeting, Mr. Venick took the time to ask me a lot of specific but thoughtful questions to help us move forward.
Throughout the process, he was very responsive as well as proc-active in reaching out to me to make sure I didn't miss any deadlines.

Mr. Venick's professional assistance and advice during the worst six months of my lengthy career was outstanding. He was like the extended family member who helped me work through the emotional anger of my former workplace situation when newer, younger, and less experienced people became my direct supervisors. I contacted Mr. Venick after I had been forced to retire from my Washington, DC-based organization. I needed assistance in negotiating a severance package and possibly taking further steps. He was terrific in helping me.
Ultimately this was not a situation requiring protracted legal back-and-forth or a lawsuit. Mr. Venick's advice was great. He did an excellent job of walking me through everything that happened.
The most impressive thing he did (in my opinion) was to ask me what I wanted the outcome to b and walk me through the pros and cons of all my options.
The outcome was minimalist. All of the negotiation with my former employer were taken care of by mail and phone. This was a huge relief. Trying to work all of this out in Washington, DC, and in Nashville would have been arduous, especially given that I had unexpected health issues in the middle of it. It was settled to me satisfaction.
All this is to say, that Mr. Venick was a terrific lawyer who encouraged modest measured steps to achieve what I wanted. Other lawyers mightjust have said see you all in court. I am grateful for his help.

In 1999, I ill advisedly completed divorce proceedings without seeking legal representation. As a result, I was legally bound to an unfavorable judgment that severely limited access to my then, five year old daughter.
