I have had the privilege of working with Lori as my attorney since 2005. She handled a major matter for me that concluded several years ago, and she has overseen other matters I have had with her firm as well. The expertise and knowledge Lori provides to her clients is distinctive, and in my opinion, incomparable in the current legal/financial market.
Lori’s integrity speaks to the person she is to her family, her friends, her colleagues and especially to her clients. It is never “business as usual” with her. She is personally involved with all aspects of her client’s cases assuring they receive dedicated customer service and quality, comprehensive representation.
Working creatively and with efficiency is Lori’s trademark. She is a knowledgeable and effective negotiator. Her ability to listen is key to her leadership both within and outside of her office. Lori’s a little more expensive than some divorce attorneys ($375/hr), but well worth it. I’ve often found that lawyers who cost more per hour, end up costing a lot less in the end. She’s one of those.
Over the course of several contested divorces and custody battles, I’ve used 5 different divorce attorneys and Lori’s by far the most effective at getting what's fair and moving you past what's likely to be the most difficult period of your life.
I was referred to Lori by high-powered women in the Seattle investment community. They represent many high-net-worth individuals and were concerned about me. They had watched too many of their customers, both male (like me) and female, get decimated as the result of poor legal representation.
I like Lori for many reasons, especially because she’s one of the creators of a small new movement in family law call “collaborative divorce”. The purpose of this practice is to do the deal ... get the divorce over with ASAP … for the sake of the children (especially) as well as the adults. Lori doesn’t believe in profiting by empowering her client to believe he/she is in the right when they’re not. That does nothing but extend the painful, destructive divorce process interminably ... at the expense of the client's emotions and cash.
Knowing her reputation as a powerful peacemaker, I invited Lori to criticize any demand I felt like making that was unreasonable in her eyes. She did so in a compassionate way. She headed off behavior on my part that wasn’t conducive to settlement by explaining _why_ certain details of my approach wouldn’t work best.
She sometimes based her opinions on experience and sometimes on a description of how I would be perceived if I didn’t change myself for the better — i.e. it's usually not a good idea to place fault in a divorce -- you chose him/her afterall, and both parties are hurting no matter how it appears. In my mind, I learned that the only fault in the process is when a client hangs on to anger, blame and revengeful thinking — thinking that many other divorce attorneys simply encourage.
And yet, Lori also fights like hell for you in a compelling and effective way, at just the right moments and by picking the most important points to get out of the way first. She’ll do what it takes even if she has to get down into the trenches to become your warrior.
She’s busy so I’d suggest getting on her calendar soon.

He has represented me twice. The first time was for a dwi in Franklin county. I was 36 years old, had no previous convection or really any experience with the law. He got the charge knocked down to a muffler violation. I got a fine, no probation or points. About 5 years after that he helped me get a great divorce settlement through mediation. He's my lawyer for life, unless he is recommending I go elsewhere for better representation.

We are Extremely satisfied with the service we received from Nick. He was honest, and efficient he spent quite a lot of time doing research in the writing of this a letter for my landlord along with contacting the landlord by phone, like a mediator between us . which turned out very well; we got to extend out the date of termination of tenancy , a whole month, just by notifying our landlord of our rights as tenants. I would recommend Nick to anyone who wants an honest, dedicated, persistent and very detailed oriented Lawyer!
I will defiantly call him again, if I need a lawyer again!

I called Nick on a weekday evening to inquire about the best way for my dad to get a power of attorney in order. Since my dad is on the lower end of the economic scale, Nick said he would be very flexible with the fee. During our whole conversation, he emphasized that he wanted to be sure my dad was taken care of and that he didn't want this process to be an added burden to the stresses of having a sick parent.
The following day, I learned that Nick had gone the extra mile and found a free reliable online source for power of attorney documents that could be notarized. He took the time to review the paperwork, and sent it to me with detailed explanation on terms and how it all works.
I am so grateful for his help, and when my husband and I are ready to have our legal affairs handled we will definitely be working with Nick. He is awesome!

Cristina reviewed my divorce decree from 2011 to help me determine if I could request child support to begin after my current maintenance order expires. She took the time to go over the current state law requirements for eligibility and helped with the state calculation to determine the amount. She was thorough, professional, and extremely efficient with the review and preparation of all the necessary documents to be sure that there is no gap in payments. So far, i am beyond pleased with her firm. She is aggressive but yet in a way, most lawyers lack, calm. She is very knowledgeable and she gets things done in timely manner. She keeps her billing very accurate. You will pay but from what I see she's not there for anybody but her client. I can see she is not there to make friends she is there to get her client what they want. All in all the best lawyer I've every retained and I have retained several across the boards of different cases. 5 stars. And her willingness to work with you on payments makes her stand out. Keep in mind I did put down a retainer But not all that she requested and she has afforded me a father a timeline to get it to highly recommend you think of consulting her before making any descions on who to retain.

Mrs. Simmons wasn’t my first attorney during the custody process But she was the only one that truly watched out for the benefit of all parties involved. There are many attorneys that only want to take the easy cases Cheri took my case which was so entrenched in the courts That I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and turned it around in a short period of time I have learned through this process that the attorneys hands can be tied if they don’t know how to present the right information. After speaking with several other attorneys, I called Athena Law. I spoke with Suzie directly, not her paralegal. She listened, offered options, explaining each in detail so I could make the best decision for my situation. We moved forward together. Great communication, and fierce advocacy for what was in my best interest. If the "Big D" is happening in your life - you will not find a better attorney. I have been a client for over 5 years. Wendy is amazing. She walks you through the entire process and looks out for the best interest of your children. She thinks about issues that may arise in the future and tries to include those in the original order so that you don’t have to go back to court multiple times. She is thorough, organized and always responds to your questions quickly. She will tell you upfront what the laws state so going into the court room isn’t a surprise and she tells you what you can expect from a judge in any situation or how it can play out if a case were to go to trial. I had the opportunity to have Attorney Brian Nguyen represent me in a car accident case and I would have to say that he went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure that the insurance companies would not try to weasel out of fixing my car.
He spent a lot of time listening and learning about my accident, then he presented different scenarios that I must consider to protect myself. He tactically advocated for my rights and remembered the exact details of my case, always keeping me in the loop. After he did 90% of the case, the adjuster wanted to talk directly to me, which Attorney Brian Nguyen prepared me thoroughly for to help me avoid any traps that may be set up for the insurance company to avoid liability.
In the end, I got what I wanted thanks to Attorney Brian Nguyen. He made what would be a time-consuming car accident case, very easy for me because he just did all the work. My daughter was in a horrible marriage. Her husband beat her and threatened their three year old daughter on many occasions. We didn't know where to turn. We asked around and Inez Grant's name came up several times. We met with her. Everyone in her office was so accommodating and helpful. She listened with such compassion, you could tell she cared about us. She assured us that she would protect our daughter and granddaughter, which she did immediately. Within two days, she had a restraining order, she had helped us find a safe place for our daughter and granddaughter and she started divorce proceedings. Within two days, we were astonished at her expertise, her attention to detail and her precision at working with the system. Today, we can say that we have never seen our daughter more happy and secure and our granddaughter is so at ease. Going to Inez Grant was the absolute best decision we could have ever made. My son was arrested with a DUI. I had no idea where to turn. A friend of mine had worked with Inez on a tricky Immigration problem and she succeeded in fixing his problem so his children could stay in the US.
I called Inez was polite, professional and extremely well versed in the law.
She took all of our fears away. This was my sons first offense (and it will be his LAST if I have anything to say about it!) Inez was able to help us and today my son is happy and not in jail. Those are very good things.

We have used Stewart Springer for 15 years in various legal matters. He has always went above and beyond to help us, and often without taking a cent from us. When our Cobra insurance was messed up due to an HR error he got it straightned out and didn't charge us a cent. He has sent letters many times helping us in things we needed help with. Never was he too busy to talk to us.
When I had an accident in 2006 he came all the way from Birmingham to check one me. He even gave us money during Christmas because he knew I was out of work. It was a gift.He counseled me and re assured me that things would get better during the long settleting process. He was always upfront and strsight forward about everything. He was kind of like my Dr in a way. I even received a self help book from him to read. He made me feel better everytime I talked to him. He came to my home more than we went to his office because we live near Anniston, Al.. He felt like an old friend who always came when we were in need.
I will call him again if I ever need a lawyer. I seriously dobut he is a lawyer for the money, prestige, or any of that crap. He just loves law is what I think.

I have used Judge Penny Harrington over the past seven years for several very difficult cases important to my family. She handled one over a four year period involving me obtaining Temporary Custody, Guardianship and then the Permanent Guardianship of two of my young grandchildren. Even more difficult, we were later able to terminate Parental Rights and I was then able to adopt them as my own children. More recently, she has again proven her expertise as these same children were step-parent adopted by my same-sex husband, the first case of its kind in the state of TN.
I have always found Penny to be highly professional, an expert legal mind who thinks very strategically about how every case is positioned and have nothing but high praise of her. It is obvious to me that she is highly respected by both the many judges and lawyers we have dealt with in two different counties.
She will also be preparing my estate planning documents in the next few months as I continue to use her services.
