Jeff Keiner is a great lawyer. He understands engineering and construction as if he were an engineer or constructor. Thus, he can represent design professionals at the highest level. When I have a need, Jeff is the first person I call. Plus, he has a great sense of humor which is always refreshing when dealing with difficult matters.

My wife & I were involved in a highly unusual contract dispute earlier this year. We contacted the Haffey/Vap law firm regarding the case and Mitch took our case. He is extremely knowledgeable in contract law and handled our case with exceptional diligence & thoroughness, not to mention in a highly ethical manner. Mitch obtained a very positive outcome for us. We highly recommend Mitch Vap & the Haffey/Vap firm for difficult contract cases. Thank you Mitch!

Marsad has a solid reputation. He's in this field for all the right reasons to help those in need of defense for fighting what they deserve. He always makes it a point to answer anyone's questions and refer them to someone if they are not a potential client for him. He always fights hard for his clients and communicates the process along the way as easily to be understood as possible. Never has he been unavailable via phone, text or email. I highly recommend Marsad Quraishi for any personal injury/accident needs. He is an attorney who believes highly in fulfilling his ethical duty by always doing what is best for his clients. On top of this he's an avid fisherman who loves to give. One of the best men I know who loves to share his experiences in life, whether it's law advice or fishing. A friend and confidant; never trusted anyone more. Give him a call and you won't regret it. He's a true gift from God!

Adam is a one-stop shop for legal advice on software matters, and general corporate concerns. I have used his services for drafting service agreement contracts and other corporate issues. It's so much more efficient not needing to explain technical matters or scenarios to my attorney. Most importantly the feedback is instantaneous allowing our group to focus on business and technology.

I hired steven for a banktuptcy case. I have not had much need for an attorney in my life so I have no one to compare him to. I found him to be very intelligent quite easy to talk to and most importantly easy to get a hold of. All my calls were answered by him and I never had to leave a message and wait for a return phone call. That's probably one of the most important things to me. I was worried about not being located close to his office but that wound up being no problem at all anybody who's going through a bankruptcy I would highly recommend Steven Serra

It can be a real pain to find an attorney, especially when you're trying to deal with a time sensitive crisis. I called about half a dozen lawyers before contacting Matt Pruitt. I'm very glad I got through to him. If you've tried to hire a lawyer, you know most don't really listen while you speak. They are processing what you're saying through some sort of filter to see if you're worth their time. It's understandable, their time is valuable. But it can also be frustrating as a potential client. Matt Pruitt didn't have this issue. He listened for the 4 - 5 minutes it took to explain the situation, and the asked some insightful questions. And when he noted to deadline I was working under, rearranged his schedule to make sure he could help me out. I can't get into details on the matter, but I will say having him on my side of the table was more helpful than I anticipated. Not only did he protect our side, but he asked the kinda of questions to the other side that made them visibly uncomfortable. And that in the end is what settled the matter. This whole thing was over in one meeting. The other side did a complete 180 and agreed to every term I was asking. And I know a large part of that was due to Matt's presence, insight and demeanor. He made it clear he means business, and it was felt. So, if you're looking for someone who is competent, insightful, down to earth and can be intimidating, you should give him a call. I'll absolutely use him again if I need an attorney.

Mr. Ryan helped me in a complicated foreclosure matter that involved multiple lenders and several questionable documents. I spoke with several other attorneys who simply wanted me to file bankruptcy and call it a day. Not only did Mr. Ryan resolve my foreclosure, but I did not have to file bankruptcy and further destroy my credit.

David was my lawyer on a case that lasted almost four years. He did everything possible to keep the costs down and not waste time and money. As my case started he insisted that every time I made a statement that he was going to use in the trial, I had to have the documentation to back it up. He was extremely diligent with his approach, knowledge and understanding of the facts that he was presenting. He made sure that I took an active part in the proceedings of the trial, by explaining what was going on, what happened and what was his future approach he was going to take. I trusted him completely, he was aggressive when he had to be, communicated well, and his approach to changing situations was amazing. I would highly recommend him to be your attorney. He will give you his best at all times. You can trust him whether he is defending you or you are the plaintiff. You cannot good wrong if you are looking for an honest, forthcoming, aggressive and upright attorney. He is the best.

My husband and I have used Mark for advice on an employment-related issue. We were impressed with his extensive knowledge in this area and we would not hesitate to use him again. He did not hesitate to provide us with his honest opinions of the merits of our claims and we never felt that we were "left in the dark" or that he did not understand our concerns. I highly recommend him for both non-compete agreement and other intellectual property issues.

I have consulted with Gary Sheth for Immigration assignments for my Firm since 2001 and can confirm the excellent service provided by his office. Immigration is a complex subject and requires extremely close consultation between the Attorney and Client to ensure that all issues have been covered. In both Telephone consultation as well as Email correspondence, I have found the service to be both knowledgable and precise with subsequent succesful results in 100% of the cases. Responses to Email and Telephone queries were dealt with the same or next day and written submissions followed very shortly. In cases where Research was required, the necessary response was provided within a week together with an implementation strategy to fit the research conclusions. The cases that we dealt with involved preparation and application for L 1 A and H1B Visas and Green Cards. We were also very pleased with follow through information on the progress of the Application and responses to RFI's, In one particular instance the Appeal process to an Immigration decision was also dealt with after researching issues very expeditiously. Our Business requires frequent responses to commercial and market based options and intrepretation of Immigration law with respect to these options and I have found Gary to be both knowledgable and able to simplify and explain complex issues. Professional fees and charges were very definitely related to the value of advice, potential cost savings or Research conclusions and I had no problem at all with the overall level or break down of fees. I have no hesitation in recommending the use of his services and can be contacted at (502) 593-8118 Chris Noronha President IDG Management Services Inc

I've been involved with franchising for 15 years and I've seen many concepts come and go. Some because their idea wasn't as great as they thought it might be, but others simply because they didn't build a system that could meet the incredible demands a franchise community makes of its franchisor. Whether its supply chain, standardized development requirements, protected territories, recommended vs. required vendors, marketing funds or non competes, they ALL matter. And, if you've failed to set your system up properly, you'll have a harder time withstanding the storm of the franchise community. This is why it is so important to find a solid franchise attorney to help you get started. The one thing that matters more than anything else is experience. Without significant experience you may be putting yourself at risk by selecting an attorney who perhaps hasn't seen enough of what could go wrong in franchising to adequately guide you and protect your interests. It is for this reason that I chose and recommend Jeff for anything franchise law related. He's been a franchise attorney practicing in AZ for a very long time and he's represented some of the nation's biggest and best concepts. As I was working through the FDD process, Jeff was able to ask questions of me that had me view the business in new dimensions. His ability to bring forward real world examples of some of the major issues young concepts face is important. I was able to get through the FDD process with him in just a few weeks and we are getting ready to file soon. I'm not certain i would've received this kind of care and attention from a large franchise law firm where most of what your paying for is name recognition and the bloated cost of interns, office space and expense accounts. Jeff delivers a better quality product at a fraction of the price. I've been very happy with Jeff and strongly recommend him to any existing or start up concept looking for franchise law assistance. My husband and I contacted Patrizia to help us with a Tennant/Landlord issue. She responded to our first email within hours and gave a consultation call the same day. She responded with an explaination of services she could provide and what the fee would be within 24 hours of our initial consultation. She was amazing! She wrote a letter to our landlord/landlords lawyer and then mediated on our behalf. The strength, intelligence, and tone with which the letter was written gave us goose bumps and in the end we got exactly what we were hoping for. She kept us informed every step of the way and did exactly what she said that she would. I'm not sure it can get much better than that! We fully recommend Patrizia to anyone looking for legal counsel.

Knows the rules of the game, very insightful and with a work ethic beyond compare (she was at a July 4th celebration with her family working on my company's transaction via phone and laptop as it was international and where I was doing the deal didn't give a flying 's*&t' about America's Independence Day and wanted it done.) Very sharp, reliable and the best securities lawyer I've seen on the West Coast.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
