I personally hired Amber Rodriquez to assist me in the administration of my parents trust. She also represented me in a civil lawsuit against my parents trust by my sibling. She assisted me in my own personal estate planning as well. She came highly recommended by and I quickly could see why. Amber is a very knowledgeable lawyer who is also very calm and focused. Amber updated a trust for me by consolidating several complex trusts into one simple trust. After originating a new trust, we placed several pieces of property in it. It was a complicated procedure as we were selling one under the new trust and exchanging for other properties. This process was handled efficiently and everything went smoothly. Probably one of the best attorneys I have ever worked with. He really is a godsend.
Originally, I had an older lawyer, and he was not doing a good job at all. Three years in court with no results. I fired him and Hired Richard.
In less than a year Richard got the 4 unit apartment building transferred into my name that my mother had left me in her will. He really took it to the opposing council at trial. We are waiting for the Judge's decision now. I feel optimistic about the outcome. So glad he was recommended to me. He is worth every penny

I was referred to Richard by my mother’s previous attorney. When I called him, I needed a legal guardian for my elderly mother to make sure another family member was not pressuring her to do anything against her will. She needed objective legal advice and Richard provided her with that.
We came to Richard in a time of emotional upheaval within our family. He explained everything to my mother in calm manner and took care of all the tedious work we just couldn’t handle. Richard was able to work with my brother and I during a conservatorship proceeding regarding my mother. We were at conflict with her second husband. Richard was able to deal with my brother and I as we got emotional during the negotiations before we went to court. He helped us come to an agreement that was agreed to by both parties before the courts were involved. Richard also really seemed to be cognizant of the cost and in my opinion tried to keep it as low as he could for us. This was appreciated.

Amanda came very highly recommended to me and I had full faith in her going into my first property purchase. I didn't think she would be any different than any other real estate lawyer however. She was very informative, smart, and walked me through all of the paperwork. But what really stood out was the research she put forth in order to help me with my purchase. She handled everything for me and when it came to closing she explained that she got me out of a nearly $5,000 tax charge because the seller was an international who would not question her motion to have the seller cover that fee. I doubt most other lawyers would even know that, let alone take the initiative to help me as the client that way.
She truly exceeded my expectations and was a huge help.
I will use her for everything I can. In the future.

Dear Penny.
Where to start, I came from a family that the Patriarch makes the decision (right or wrong deception or not). I contacted Penny some sixteen months ago when my brother showed up at my home with
a codicil. I was told my mother had a trust in 2010 this was a complete falsehood. He had pilfered my mothers accounts created a mortgage on her paid for home and sold our family cabin. During which I was never told of any of these transaction (remember I as a woman am not allowed to question). When I found Penny she was so understanding and took my case to protect my interests and my mothers legacy. She is a fighter not intimidated by the court system or the family that represent those that mean you harm. I was most impressed that she was always available and responded even on vacation with her family. Another example: her daughter was in collage and a close friend had passed away, she picked up her phone to take my call (above and beyond the call of duty) yet still comforted her daughter. They don't make people like that anymore (remember I said people not just lawyer) Oh she's a lawyer,someone you can trust to always be there and prepared, and have the ability to explain the complex legal system for myself and husband to understand. I strongly think if you are in my position you should speak to her, before you are deceived by conviction that program you for failure (to be subservient) you deserve answers. Penny will get them!

Frank Leffingwell's office prepared an employment agreement for me so that I could have all my current employees to sign it. I had not done this previously because another attorney had informed me many years ago that such agreements are not enforceable unless my practice has trade secrets I wanted to protect. And I did not think that we had any such trade secrets. Frank explained to me that such agreements are enforceable for a couple of years even without our practice having trade secrets. And that this is long enough to provide me the protection that I desired. His firm also prepared an excellent employment agreement for me within a couple of weeks and all of my current employees have signed it. Now I can rest easier about the future.

After speaking with a number one estate planning lawyers I decided to hire Whitney Sorrel in large part based on his ability to communicate clearly. By "clearly" I mean he was able to explain exactly what he would be doing and the purpose of completing an estate plan.
What followed was even better. He listened to what I wanted while at the same time challenging me, in a very positive way, as to the wisdom of my choices. In the end, the final document represents my wishes while protecting assets and future finances.
In addition, his personal style direct yet friendly fit perfectly with the way I prefer to do things. I would recommend Mr. Sorrel very highly.

Yes, I can be a bit dramatic, but let me say it again, WoW! I liked his picture and "ready for a courtroom showdown" so gave him a cold call. He was the most gracious, well mannered attorney I've spoken to. I'm a Paralegal and have a pending probate case so that says a lot! Aside from his excellent manner and professionalism, the guy knows his stuff. I have been through five (thought it was only 3:) probate attorneys for the last 9 years and Mr. Hankin gave me information that was pivotal to the success of my case; information that I should have already been told. I know, where was he 9 years ago! Let me tell you, he would have been my attorney and this case would have come to a conclusion years ago. I recently posted a review of this attorney but my review may have been premature, as we were not yet finished completing our exchanges. Since my earlier review Mr. Hankin wrote to me again. He shed tremendous light on the one pressing question that baffled me, and he did so in a professional manner.
My initial aim was to utilize his services in the Appellate Courts, but it appears my case lacks the "teeth" for a successful appeal. If that were not my unfortunate predicament I'd most assuredly hire Mr. Hankin. Sometimes the devil is in the details. He's a details oriented attorney who takes the time to explain matters to his clients and prospective clients.
I can't speak to other areas of his law practice, but for anything pertaining to California Trusts or Probate matters he's the "go-to" attorney!

My father was an 81 year old man who spent a month in hospital (some kind of procedure every week). He almost died a couple of times. He then went to rehab for a couple of months. Immediate family and dr's agreed he needed assisted living and then possibly go home. A great niece who he may have seen twice went and got him. Within 2 months she had a new will leaving her everything. She alienated him from everyone. Less than a year he was dead. A friend called to offer me condolences a week later and that is how we found out. I went on Avvo site hunting an attorney and found Jeffrey Kuhns. He was sympathetic, professional and very knowledgeable. At our consult he advised that he couldn't do what we wanted and needed to do. He referred us to someone he knew could. I cannot say enough good things about him. Thank you Jeffrey!

After inheriting my grandmothers property, it was a tough time as you could imagine and I had no idea who to turn to with the process. We originally hired a lawyer whom could not answer basic elementary estate questions, which lead us to replacing her. We then hired Mr. David Yergey, we were very pleased how imformative he was and knew we made the right decision. Mr. David Yergey was very professional, responsive, and urgent with every bit of the process. The legal work that goes into transferring property can be stressful but David made it easy to get through. Ron clearly knew the ins and outs of estate work, for which we hired him. He made me and my family feel we were in very capable hands after a most trying event, the loss of a beloved family member.
