I was referred to Bill Simon by a doctor in Charlotte, NC that had used Bill's legal services for his business in San Diego. He was extremely pleased with the legal work that Bill had done for his business.
I originally had another attorney handling the settlement of an estate that I am the executor of. That attorney did not understand the Trust, so I was getting very concerned and nervous about my involvement as the executor from a legal stand point. I took the Trust and Will to The San Diego Law Firm and within twenty minutes Bill Simon had explained the Trust and Will to me. He assured me that he could execute the Trust and Will the way that it was intended. Bill's knowledge and skill was very impressive.
Bill had his team ready to start the execution of the Trust and Will. They were professional and knowledgeable with every step that was taken. They worked with the heirs and kept an excellent relationship with everyone involved.
The estate went into Probate, so Bill and his team handled it from start to finish with no hassles for me. They managed the funds and every situation that came up with skill and an impressive knowledge base. I totally trusted Bill Simon with handling everything involved in closing the estate. As a disabled senior citizen living below the poverty level with serious health issues, I was seeking to establish a Will and/or a Trust to leave my modest estate to. I was referred to Cheryl after my father passed away. He had set up Trusts for me and my brother and sister and I was the initial Trustee. Cheryl was excellent in helping me deal with my father's estate and setting up the three Trusts. Until my father passed, we had no idea that our inheritance would be in the form of irrevocable Trusts instead of outright to us. Cheryl helped us to make sure that we did not violate the terms of the Trusts. She helped us set them up to make them irrevocable and she gave us detailed instructions about how to manage the Trusts so that we did not violate my father's wishes. She also helped with the probate estate. Cheryl is helping us with ongoing Trust Administration, including taxes. We would be lost without her.

My wife and I were referred to Ms. Johnson by our financial advisor, who said that we may have to pay estate taxes. We met with Ms. Johnson and she did an amazing job explaining complex tax concepts to us--she used diagrams and had prepared a strategy guide for us before our first meeting. We ended up hiring her to draft our wills and trusts and to draft two advanced irrevocable trusts (GRATs) that moved some assets out of our taxable estates. We never knew that these GRATs existed or how they worked!

When I decided to incorporate my business I thought it was something I could do myself. I quickly realized that it was too important to attempt alone or leave to chance. I sought out an experienced attorney to guide me thought the process and Mr. Cohan's insight and expertise made for an obvious choice. I was referred to Robert by another attorney (whom I had found via a referral service at work) when my estate planning needs were deemed too complex for the first attorney to handle. Robert took my telephone call (personally) on my first contact attempt, then set up a no-charge consultation for my wife and me the very next day!
Our initial appointment was highly informative, and we were able to use the feedback Robert provided (for free at that point) to make immediate changes to our portfolio beneficiaries, etc., and thereby achieve more than half of our stated objectives. We were so appreciative that we, of course, scheduled follow-up 'on-the-clock' appointments to further refine our plan. Subsequent meetings solidified our approach, and when concluded, we had a new trust, two new wills, updated POA's, and a feeling of confidence in our overall future plan.
What I found so satisfying was that Robert was able to condense the actual documentation we required to a minimal number of changed or updated pages with carefully crafted amendments where applicable, or well-written new documents with specific, clear, and concise 'non-rambling' provisions.
Mark Twain once quipped, "I wanted to write you a short note, but I didn't have time, so I wrote you this long letter". Robert has mastered the skill of the 'short but effective' vs. the 'long and rambling' and Twain would be proud!
I could not have been more satisfied with our engagement, including with the very reasonable final fee. I highly recommend Robert Kolasa for anyone who needs an estate plan review, update, or commencement.

My wife and I unexpectedly found ourselves in the position of taking care of a relative who was beginning to show signs of Alzheimer's. Michael had set up trusts for each of us in prior years, so we contacted him to assist us in caring for our relative. Michael provided guidance for us to ensure our relatives' safety, provide for the relatives' long term care, and ensure that the relatives' assets would be protected and used for their benefit in accordance with their wishes. The process was not easy, but Michael coached us through the maze.
Michael also set up a Special Needs Trust so that we could provide a legacy for a relative of ours who is not capable of handling her own affairs.
Michael does not simply draft a trust and disappear, but keeps us informed of changes in the laws and provides periodic updates to the trust documents to ensure that our trusts will continue to provide the protection we need today and 'ease of use' for our trustees and heirs tomorrow.

Recently completed Estate Planning with Mr. Patrick Beddow that included family ranch property located in Montana and our home in Wyoming. He listened closely and asked pertinent questions so that I soon believed he clearly understood our needs. Relatively quickly he created our Revocable Family Trust and associated Realty Transfer Certificates; and his assistant had the necessary deeds recorded in the appropriate counties. I researched real estate attorneys in Montana ,we do not live in Montana but do live in a state that Mr Beddow has a license to practice. When I called the firm I was great with a very courtesy professional staff. Mr Beddow listened to what I was interested in and explained the process, and that he would check to see if there were any conflicts etc. not more than a day later I was contacted by this firm, they sent there retainer form and an amount to send for a retainer. I did that and they went to work right away. Stayed in touch and kept us informed . This is important if you do not reside in Montana. I have found it a good experience dealing with all the staff as well as Mr Beddow. I have also found that unlike some lawyers ,that our needs were treated as important to them.
They do bill you but not for every single lil piece of paper and every phone call with in reason. It appears also that they do not waste time trying to get billable hours,Simply put your in good hands and can expect to get what you pay for. A top class honest firm that cares and represents you with professional service . I have felt very comfortable dealing with them long distance.

I first met Steve Bolton in 1983. He was a realtor back then, taking over the family business upon the sudden death of his father. Steve was the realtor that handled our first purchase in the area. While he was a great realtor it was time to go back to school. After graduating at the top of his class he came back to Park Rapids and set up shop. With this background Steve has been invaluable as a real estate attorney. I've used his expertise several times. He's also become respected as a honest and effective estate planning attorney. Steve is someone I know I can trust for expertise and solid advice in anything I bring to him. I've used he services several times - all with perfect results. I always seek his advice before entering into a transaction. Throughout the course of our litigation, Mr. Ostwald was extremely considerate of our plight. We had never been involved in any legal matters previous to our lawsuit so it was an extremely trying and difficult time. We were always kept up to date and totally informed. He made the whole "nightmare" tolerable. Part of our case was an area of law that he was not familiar with, i.e., equine law. His knowledge of medical malpractice was exceptional and he was able to combine the two areas with ease. As a small business owner, locating effective representation can be a challenge. I worked with a large, prestigious law firm but found the billable hours extreme and not worth the output I received. Darin was hired by us to fight a biased lawsuit.
Each time we called or emailed him he responded right away. He kept us up to date on all the actions of the case. He has a cleaver and analytical way of seeing the law. Also he was extremely generous with his time in helping to stop the suffering of animals which was at the core of our case.

We met with Mr. Pasquali because our mother was paying over $7,000 a month to the nursing home and we didn't know what our options were. He explained how Medicaid qualification works and qualified mom for Medicaid in the month we first met, avoiding the payment of thousands of dollars to the nursing home. I recommend that anyone who has a loved one in or on the way to the nursing home meet with Mr. Pasquali or another qualified Medicaid attorney to find out what planning is available.
