I absolutely recommend Butler, Giraudo, and Meister if you want a problem-solving attorney and a compassionate, dedicated support staff (thanks for all your help Kelly!). Tami Meister represented me in a contentious divorce and child custody case that lasted over a year and a half. Attorney Meister was thoughtful, empathetic, and went above and beyond to make herself available for any questions or concerns I had. She cares for her clients and their cases but doesn’t allow emotion to negatively impact her ability to effectively advocate for them. No coincidence, Stuart knows how to earn every star -- and my experience with him tells me he delivers beyond five stars. Great attention to detail, phenomenal understanding of complex financials, does not try to be your psychologists and sticks to the facts, very honest and very sensitive to not spending too much time on senseless discussion that can only lead to higher legal fees. Handled my complex financial case in most masterful of ways. After first hearing, I thought it was over, but Stuart help me identify most important gaps and we worked together to turn things around. Ed and his team have demonstrated that they are the dominate legal council in the Peoria area. Ed can be trusted to deliver and defend you for the most difficult cases. My ex wife filed a HIPPA case against my wife to gain access to medical records to ecploit my wife and restrict parenting time and Ed worked closely with us to settle outside of court. Friday before the hearing my ex wife declined any settlement and the hearing was set for Monday. Eds team worked through the weekend and developed a solid case with legal precedence and solidly one the case protecting my wife's legal rights to protect her personal medical records. I fully trust Ed and his team and recommend his team even for the the most difficult cases.

My ex wife is what people call “helicopter mom.” She would not let me see my daughter. She accused me of ridiculous thigs and asked for 100% of any decision-making because I cannot be trusted. From the very beginning Fedor Kozlov told me that it would be a fight and he took the case to the trial. Everyone was against me, including the child representative. I think that he won trial. I have shared custody now and I see my baby every week. Highly recommended!

After a year and half of being with another firm during my terrible divorce and very little progress, I made a decision to change the law firm and hired Law Office of Fedor Kozlov. They fought for me as if I was a member of their family, while being very conscious of my financials and using time and money in MOST efficient way. Out of pure revenge my ex filed fraudulent chargers against me accusing of child abuse. DCFS became involved. This was a nightmare. Before I hired Kozlov, I consulted with at least three other lawyers. Kozlov showed a good knowledge of the law and understanding of the procedure. It was very important to me to know everything that was going on in court and Kozlov kept me informed every step of the way. This hell is over and I have my child back. He is not cheap but Kozlov chargers only for actual work. Not BS chargers like travel time. He keeps his word. If you work with him he will get you the result.

I have used Brad more than once (for my divorce and four years later when a petition requesting a new parenting allocation judgment was filed). Brad walked me through both processes, ensured that I had "wins" along the way as the respondent in both cases, and was available/accessible when needed. I was never waiting on information or a status update. He is very easy to communicate with and extremely responsive. Brad is an excellent attorney who is very intelligent and well versed in the law. He is very articulate whether in the divorce trial-court, discussions with the GAL, or in private conversations as we tailored our approach to my priorities. He is an excellent communicator both in his written documents and during conversations. His sincere and focused efforts were integral in the court’s decision to grant me as the primary residential parent for my kids.
Brad is an exceptional and gifted lawyer. My case was very contentious and filled with many distractions and accusations from the OC. Brad remained calm, focused, and strategic. Brad performed a review of a prenuptial agreement that had already been structured and had little room for flexibility. Despite the constraints imposed by the agreement, Brad provided invaluable insights on improving the structure of the agreement, helped identify and remove excessively punitive clauses, and was able to make several recommendations to clarify language and circular references that were ultimately accepted by opposing counsel. Brad was extremely professional in his demeanor toward my fiance’s family’s requests, in his responses to my requests, and in his overall handling of the case. Brad took the time to help me understand the legal jargon and gave me peace of mind that I was protected throughout this sensitive process. He was readily available via email or phone, despite having trials and other open cases, and he made arrangements to meet in person upon request within just a couple business days. Reasonable retainer fee for services compared against several other firms in the Loop. Highly recommended for anyone needing counsel to sign a prenup.

My friends and family suggested I contact the law offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd. located in Chicago. I chose to have Jim Hagler and Summer Du represent me. BEST DECISION I MADE IN YEARS!
I came to Jim Hagler because I was not getting any time with my daughter, even though we had "equal custody" after the divorce almost 4 years prior. Our original divorce paperwork from a different lawyer was vague and poorly written, leaving my ex-wife lots of loopholes to keep my daughter away from me, unless she felt like "granting" me access to see my own daughter. I was heartbroken, depressed and mad. I hope no one has to experience the pain I was going through. I wanted to be her father, not some weekend or periodic person that could only see her occasionally.
I was done with feeling helpless, and knew I had to stand up for myself and get my daughter back into my life. Every daughter needs her father, and ever father needs to be with his daughter! Jim and Summer refiled the custody paperwork so it reflected what equal custody really means. That started the expected battle for custody. And holy cow were they ready for it!
Jim and Summer are real hero's to me. They blew holes in very false accusation and unsubstantiated lie my ex-wife could dream up! And I assure you she came up with new ones every time Jim and Summer proved the last one was a lie! No matter how ugly the process became they guided me through it all with a level of support, dignity and professionalism which gave me the confidence to know we would come out on top! In the end even her own lawyer knew the truth, it was a great victory- and by victory I only mean having my daughter (and best friend) back in my arms!
Today, I have equal custody of her and could not ask for anything more in life! My relationship with my ex has also returned to normal and we are doing a great job coparenting. I never though any of this would be possible.
MY WORD OF ADVICE: Don't ever give up your rights as a father and do what you know is right- call Jim and Summer if you really want your daughter back!!!!!!!!

James and his team eliminated as much of the confusion and concern from the process turning a difficult, tense situation into a manageable one, with a favorable outcome for both sides and most importantly, the kids. James and the firm have a great reputation and experience and both added undeniable value throughout the process from negotiations to the close of the matter. Throughout the entire process he listened to me, directed me to some valuable outside vendors to assist with ancillary issues, and saved me from making my own additional missteps while navigating the process. When we were looking for a lawyer to represent us against a copyright troll in CA, I was at first hesitant to contact Billy as he was in Chicago. So I called a few others first and Billy last. Billy was by far the most reasonable and knowledgeable about the industry. He did a superb job at getting a settlement that we could live with. He spent quite a bit of time going back and forth with the troll and us. I believe he does this work out of principle as he surely spent far more time than the fee we paid him.
When we called Billy, we were feeling afraid, tense, and extremely nervous. Within minutes, Billy made us feel secure and relaxed because we knew he would be protecting us from that point on. He lived up to his reputation and we cannot thank him enough. Strangely, I feel like I owe him more money for how much work he did to represent us. I was extremely fortunate to have found Ben Kailin and Firm Equity after being named in a Malibu Media Lawsuit. After contacting a few other law firms, I felt Ben seemed to really understand how to deal with Malibu Media. He took on my case and was able to negotiate a settlement I could live with. The initial offer from the plaintiff was way more than I could afford to pay. It took him several weeks of back and forth negotiating before he was able to bring the settlement amount down to an acceptable level. I’m not sure the modest fee he charged even covered the time he spent on my case. He is truly the friendliest yet fiercest lawyer around. If you are ever unlucky enough to be involved in something like this, definitely call Ben and Firm Equity.

Benjamin has turned gloom and despair into instant relief. I had hired an attorney for a copyright infringement case (multiple infringements) who did a whole lot of nothing. So little of nothing that the accusers had plenty of time to get my real name and serve a civil court summons to me at my home. I had to hire another lawyer and this time I wanted to make sure I got someone who had the right stuff.
Enter the Benjamin. Not only did he cover the basics of what needed to be done and the strategy needed in my case, he also made it a point to treat you as a real person with real feelings. Attentive. He understood the misery and dread, and that no one wants to file bankruptcy over something like this, especially when you are over 40. When you talk about an absolute miracle you talk about Michael Sweeny. It took me more than a month after my case to write this review because I wanted to write the perfect review for the perfect lawyer. I hired Mr. Sweeny for my very difficult case which I thought had no hope to be honest. He was very efficient, quick to act and thorough, and instilled a lot of confidence throughout the process. My case could have had a potentially very damaging outcome, however, it was resolved positively, with much better results than I or anyone else in that courtroom could have ever expected. I was met with stellar communication skills, excellent and professional representation and understanding without judgement. Any aspect of my case that he was not familiar with was met with profound research and that made me feel hopeful because my case had damaging effects on other parts of my life. I am not quite sure where to begin...I had originally hired a previous lawyer to represent me for my divorce (which started in 2019). The previous lawyer did not seem to be doing much work on my case nor did did I feel heard when I explained my case to them. I ended up asking them to withdraw as my lawyer after about 8 months because I knew they weren't going to fight for me.
I then started the process of finding a new lawyer and quite a few lawyers were not even willing to take my case because litigation had already started.
I felt very lost, but then I got referred to Linda Watson from 3 different people. I had my phone consult with her (at this point covid was in full swing) and I knew this woman was going to fight for me.
Let me make this clear, you're money will not go to waste at Watson Law! You will see the work for what you pay for! Linda and her team will go above and beyond for you! Make sure you communicate with them and tell them everything!
Linda is such a good hearted person. She doesn't sugarcoat things and is very real and upfront with you!
Never in a million years did I think after hiring Linda I would grow so close to her and her staff!! As crappy as having to go through the divorce process was, Linda and her team made it somewhat enjoyable! I felt heard, supported and validated from Linda and her team!
Oh and in the end, Watson Law won my case!!! It took 5+ trials/days in court. It is very important for YOU the client to make sure you educate yourself with your story/side of things and come prepared as well. Linda is so incredible in court. She FIGHTS for you. I could go on and on but I will end with this...choosing any other lawyer for your case would be a HUGE mistake and loss!!!!

I was referred to TPMB and Sam Carl via a different firm while I was looking for a personal injury lawyer due to a serious cycling accident. If you have ever had the need to seek our representation you know how overwhelming the process can be and how difficult it is to know if you are making the right choice given the vast array of options at your disposal. Complex life altering injuries are scary enough, and if they involve negligence on the part of large well known corporations its even more intimidating. At the time TPMB was newly founded and little information about the firm existed, but after speaking with Sam and TPMB partners I felt reassured in my decision to retain them. When it comes to say anything about Mr. Hany Khoury, he’s nothing short of a miracle. My ex-wife was nothing but difficult from Day 1 to Year 4. I had to deal with a situation that existed in both family court as well as criminal court. Right away Ali was both informative and empathetic. As a professional, she knows how the legal system works. Ali spent time 'on the other side' as a prosecutor, which I felt gave her an inside understanding of not only how the prosecution operates, but of what judges want and look for in a case. Ali informed myself and my wife right away to initiate things like counseling and parenting classes and not to wait for that to be ordered. 1) Because you don't want to get MONTHS into your case and then have the system spring something on you that you could have been doing all that time and 2) It shows that you're pro-active in your case. She never painted a picture of unrealistic expectations and yet, at the same time, she managed to stoke the fires of hope and resolve. The above mentioned advice alone probably shaved 3-4 months off of my family court case. It's little things like that that become big things that Ali has an inside understanding of.
As a person, Ali took a personal interest in me and my family. She readily viewed pictures of my kids and even helped my eldest with a few decisions about college. Ali is a genuine person and she really does care.
To be frank, the court system is hell. Pick one reason or pick several, it's a sea of hell. Ali acted as a legal compass through it all.
I don't give this review with any amount of light heartedness. DCFS came and took my youngest son into state custody for over 1 year. In my heart I truly feel that if it had not been for Ali Leonard, that time would have been excruciatingly longer or worse, they may not have returned him at all. It's via her strength, her knowledge and her determination that I have my son today and my family is whole. Even when my monetary debt reads zero, I will never be able to truly pay her back. Thank you Ali.

My ex-wife file for divorce and once I got David involved, the opposing attorney and ex's demeanor drastically changed. After David gained insight on my situation, how I earn income (I'm self-employed) and what my ex was asking me for, David was my voice and advocate to make sure I was not taken advantage of. My ex's requests (demands) were based on emotion and she wasn't budging until David came along. David worked through the legal system and made sure the settlement was based on facts and not emotion. When I wanted to give in, he asked me "for what? There is no legal basis for what they're asking for (paraphrased)". There's an awful lot of waiting as the due process takes place but it's for a reason. This gave my legal team some time to formulate a plan, and used time to our advantage. David and his paralegal Joni are top notch, very knowledgeable about the law and how to apply it to get my case settled. There were many phone calls and emails to me from their office outside of normal business hours, which I appreciated, so their dedication to their clients were beyond evident. David worked hard on my case and I can finally move forward in my new chapter of life. If you're interviewing attorneys deciding who to select, have at least a conversation with David, and you will immediately know that he absolutely has your best interest in mind. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for what he and his team have done for me, my future and for my dependent son. Thank you David! I'd give him 10 stars if I could.

Divorce is such a painful process on multiple levels. I wanted my divorce over as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there are levels of attorneys and 5 star reviews don't always correlate with competence. I chose one based on 5 star AVO reviews and was severely disappointed. My divorce dragged on years exacerbated by Covid.
I was at my wits end when I was thankfully referred by word of mouth to David. After a 20 min ph call with David, I fired my last attorney and hired David. He is very intelligent, professional and straight to the point. David has a network and rapport with the "system" that can only exist because of a long and successful career. This network also greatly benefitted my case both financially and psychologically.
My experience with divorce was ugly. It was not only a battle with my ex, it was a made worse because of her team of lawyers. Petty arguments and tactics designed to drain the estate of finances and wear you down emotionally.
In such a situation, you want a shark on your side to cut through the opposition with efficiency. David was just that both strategically and in front of the judge. If only I had hired him first. I would have saved myself a lot of mental and financial energy. Do yourself a favor and call David. Trust me.

I get recommended by a different lawyer. It's all started when we have a case of asylum in california with no end. She was able successfully to move the case from California to Illinois.
After it has been in California court for over 7 years with no results from California lawyers. We We're able to get a consultation with Ms. Mosley and we felt Confident enough to hire her, so we did.
That was the best decision that we ever made. Within 2 years she moved the asylum court to the migration office. Covid came in stopped a lot of back logs, but she was on top of things Constantly contacting the immigration office about the update and informers of what needs it from us to do. She made everything in ease.We even had the fingerprint done.
And she gives us all the contact of the doctors.What do we need to do with the physical? We give her everything and she just took care of it. And now, after 2 years we just received the green card and she was even on top of it. Before we receive the card, she sent us an email of approval from the immigration office.
Her staff was always inform us if we have any questions. She always answered the phones and answered all the emails without a delay.
... I highly recommend her and her staff for all what you have an issue with whether it's a migration problem or asylum problem. She is the best of the best, and she worth every single penny.
