Brendan represented me in a case where I was involved in a traffic accident. He was always there for me and explained everything in a manner that was simple. Mr. Colon represented my wife in a personal injury suit resulting from an auto accident. Although the other motorist was found at fault her insurance coverage did not adequately cover the damages sought. Mr. Cloon sought an award through our carrier.
He clearly informed us of the law and went to great lengths to seek a just settlement through mediation since court dockets were badly backed up due to the COVID 19 pandemic. His perseverence led to a surprisingly fair settlement after considerable effort on his part. I am not sure I can adequately put into words about the service and care Bryson Cloon provided to my husband and I. He was very detailed, professional and spoke in language we could understand. My first contact with John Campbell was very pleasant. He patiently listened to my concerns and addressed every one of them. Our meetings were always positive and hopeful for me as I had been struggling with this legal matter over four years. No matter how many times I needed to contact John, either by phone or email he was always kind, never acted like I was bothering him. He told me to contact him anytime and if I had questions, ask. He never made me feel like I was uneducated about the law. He always explained all questions I had. Doug Depew was very thorough when he explained my bankruptcy rights and responsibilities. I spent two hours initially with him to become acquainted with bankruptcy rules. I have never particularly been in any substantial trouble with the law, but last year my life nearly turned upside down when I was faced with a false sexual battery accusation that would have left me, an innocent law abiding man, with over a decade on the sex offender registry had it not been for the exemplary support of Jerry Merril. Jerry is a diligent, compassionate, and committed lawyer. I got into some trouble for the first time in my life (I am in my 5th decade) and he understood that the only fair outcome for my case was complete and utter eradication of the charges. He didn't promise that but said in certain cases that could be achieved. I had interviewed another attorney prior to meeting Jerry who I am sure would have been competent, but I don't believe would have gone the extra mile that Jerry went to acheive my goal of expungement. I unfortunately, waited too long to finally take that first step to obtaining some legal assistance from a vehicle collision. If I had it (which I hope I do NOT) to do over again, I would have sought the legal advice immediately after I noticed pain as result of the accident. Although, I was reluctant to obtain a lawyer, I couldn't be more satisfied with the services and advise Mr. Geren provided. He is knowledgeable, willing to listen, and works diligently to understand his client's needs and demands. There is no way to express in words how amazing Ethan was. Richard and the rest of the staff at Devaughn-James are great people to work with. They gave me accurate expectations for the outcome of my case, explained the entire process in a way that was easy to understand, and gave good answers with quick responses to all of my questions.
What I most appreciated is that his staff was very flexible to work with and easy to contact, both by phone & by email. They kept me well informed throughout the entire process, checked in with me periodically to ask how I was recovering from my injuries, and were patient with me in allowing me to balance my own personal & work life with getting them the paperwork from my doctors & everything else they needed from me to process my case.

Michael returned my request for information over the weekend. He was quick to get me into the office to talk about my case and I was surprised that he had all the answers to my questions and gave additional information i didnt think to ask about. I give him a 10 star rating and I want to thank AVVO for putting his firm on the list to contact. I waited for three months and was not getting medical care. A week after retaining his firm I was getting the care I should have in the beginning. I give Mr. McDowell a 10 star rating. 5 is not anywhere near enough stars. He is professional and I have hired him twice now for custody issues against the same father. I have walked into court confident every single time with Mr. McDowell and he ALWAYS wins my case. You cant believe all ratings that you see posted here. Mr Ray Neighbors, for instance, he is a troll. No offense to him, but do your research. He seems to really hit hard on the legal system and judges. I saw his rating and it infuriated me. Mr. McDowell is by far the best attorney around!!

I came to Don with a financial problem. (bankruptcy). He and his staff were very thorough. It went very smooth and quick. They kept me up on the whole procedure. They told me what they needed, as far as documents, pay stubs etc. but also how I could get the information with little effort. They were there every step of the way. The great thing about all this they were very professional at a lower cost than about 7-8 other attorneys I called.

It’s 2020. We were in a pandemic AND we had a stalker problem. On the advice of responding law enforcement officers to yet another harassment report, we submitted petitions for Protection from Stalking to the court. We clearly didn’t know what we were doing because we were unsuccessful in obtaining temporary orders. We were feeling vulnerable and afraid in our own home and we needed legal advice. David J Brown came highly recommended by multiple people familiar with our situation with this caveat: “He isn’t cheap but he is worth every dime.”
My husband and I wanted to know the following: Did we have a legitimate case? How could we most effectively represent ourselves at the hearing? Would our evidence stand up in court?
David listened carefully to our concerns, reviewed our material evidence, and assured us that we should indeed seek Protection Orders. He helped us feel prepared to represent ourselves in court. He advised us to seek a continuance should the stalker appear with an attorney so that we had time to retain counsel.
We retained David J. Brown to represent us. It took an entire year before our case was fully tried. David helped us obtain temporary orders midway through the year. The stalker continued to harass us and the residents of our small rural community. Because we had temporary orders, the stalker was charged with contempt and criminal violations of the protection orders. His criminal trial is still pending. Once our case was finally fully tried in court, we were able to obtain Final Orders of Protection from Stalking and begin our healing process.
Ours was a highly unusual and difficult case rife with challenges the likes of which none had ever seen before. Not only did David J Brown set legal precedence during the course of our highly stressful and unusual year, he did it during a pandemic! Talk about unforeseen difficulties requiring creative solutions on the fly! Zoom court anyone?
We got to know David over the course of our very difficult year. He was highly responsive to our needs and the demands of our case. He demonstrated an honest respect for the legal ethics that guide his practice and he cares deeply for the people he represents. He is an excellent attorney and a genuinely nice human being. We are incredibly grateful to David for helping us navigate through uncharted legal waters during uncertain times.

When I made the determination to retain a lawyer for my divorce, I paid the money for three separate consultations to ensure I would get the best legal representation possible. Save yourself the money and hire Paula from the beginning. When I read the very first letter from Paula to the opposing counsel, I knew immediately that I made the right decision. Between that one single letter and the threat of the exhibits Paula intended to use, the opposing counsel agreed to settle the case without going to trial. I was even surprised to receive money back. Hiring an attorney who is going to play, what I would say is the most important part in protecting your parental rights and the best interest of your children can be a huge challenge. To make a long story shorter, I had met with three other attorneys and initially hired a firm who had a great marketing campaign and a good pitch man on site, I spent over $1800.00 and all that I got in return was aggravated, before I parted ways with them.
I spent a lot of time on line looking at reviews and reading bio's and talking to a few attorneys over the phone. I can't say exactly what it was that made me decide to go and meet with Paula, but I can tell you that it was the best decision I could have made.
I walked into the office and Julie, Paula's assistant (also a rock star) handed me a questionnaire, I filled it out and waited about 15 minutes and then was walked back to Paula's office. She asked me to tell my story, eventually stopping me, because I rambler and it would have cost me a lot of money, b the time I ran out of words. I mentioned the other attorneys that I had met with... They all told me that my ex wife had my boys the majority of the time, but Paula said "You have your boys 52% of the time, I disagreed and told her she was wrong, she slid a printout across the table and said "Is this your schedule?" I told her it was, she said "Then you have your boys 52% of the time.
I hired Paula, because she cut to the chase, she didn't waste my time and didn't allow me to waste my time, by rambling on about things that weren't relevant to my case. I left her office and before I made it back to my house, she had already contacted my sons private school, to verify what I pay for their school and informed me that I shouldn't be paying any child support. I had been paying for 9 years. The first firm I hired had figured it at $519.00 per month. Also, after having my boys pretty much every Thursday through Sunday for 8 years, the judge would have set temporary custody for every other weekend, but Paula stood up and said "You can't do that your honor" and we were able to maintain a better schedule.
Todays date is August 21st, 2020, I hired Paula in February of this year. We went to trial August 19-20 and I couldn't have been more pleased. She was prepared and to say she presented a very organized case, would be an understatement. I knew that she and her assistant Julie had worked really hard, but I was really in awe of what had culminated from their efforts. Paula was very aggressive in her presentation and didn't let the apposing counsel get away with anything.
We won't know the outcome of the trial until the judge reviews the case, but I can't imagine anything, but success, based on Paula's performance, both in the court room and before. I would highly recommend hiring Paula for any family law issues.

I reached out to Ms. Kingston on two different occasions regarding situations with two different employers.
On both occasions, Ms. Kingston analyzed all of the facts involved and put together brilliant strategies and responses. Subsequently, both situations were resolved by Ms. Kingston without need for further litigation. It’s 2020. We were in a pandemic AND we had a stalker problem. On the advice of responding law enforcement officers to yet another harassment report, we submitted petitions for Protection from Stalking to the court. We clearly didn’t know what we were doing because we were unsuccessful in obtaining temporary orders. We were feeling vulnerable and afraid in our own home and we needed legal advice. David J Brown came highly recommended by multiple people familiar with our situation with this caveat: “He isn’t cheap but he is worth every dime.”
My husband and I wanted to know the following: Did we have a legitimate case? How could we most effectively represent ourselves at the hearing? Would our evidence stand up in court?
David listened carefully to our concerns, reviewed our material evidence, and assured us that we should indeed seek Protection Orders. He helped us feel prepared to represent ourselves in court. He advised us to seek a continuance should the stalker appear with an attorney so that we had time to retain counsel.
We retained David J. Brown to represent us. It took an entire year before our case was fully tried. David helped us obtain temporary orders midway through the year. The stalker continued to harass us and the residents of our small rural community. Because we had temporary orders, the stalker was charged with contempt and criminal violations of the protection orders. His criminal trial is still pending. Once our case was finally fully tried in court, we were able to obtain Final Orders of Protection from Stalking and begin our healing process.
Ours was a highly unusual and difficult case rife with challenges the likes of which none had ever seen before. Not only did David J Brown set legal precedence during the course of our highly stressful and unusual year, he did it during a pandemic! Talk about unforeseen difficulties requiring creative solutions on the fly! Zoom court anyone?
We got to know David over the course of our very difficult year. He was highly responsive to our needs and the demands of our case.
