Do not use this practice if you don't agree with your ex. This practice bends over backwards for the other party involved and doesn't have their clients best interests at heart.

Julie Reiter ordered an autopsy on my husband, because he was alone in our home for 10 minutes. I'm disabled with a child. She had the toxicology sent out of state, which will take 6 months to get back. She is a lieing @#s b@#$% , that cares about nobody but herself. Even good attorneys care about who they hurt, especially kids. Not her!!!!!!

Leslie Remus attorney for firm who formed Property sale contract, Several conversations with her due to default by buyers. She stated that she was representing us in this foreclosure suit. She spoke with buyer, and was able to get one months past due payment from buyer. Wouldn't do anything else. She sent in email that she isn't an attorney with experience in foreclosures, and that is not her forte'. But she would represent us for at total of 1750.00 a few well beyond what others in this field would charge. Then she contacted buyer, was obviously taking the side of the buyer even though the buyer was in default with 4 months past due payments, No insurance on properties and no taxes paid on properties as contract stipulates. Then Leslie remus sent a scolding email to us stating that we were trying to contact buyer, which was not the case. She had stated, Remus, that she was going to contact buyer and discuss options if any and then get back with me as she was our legal representation. This was in Feb 2018, Now it's June 24 2018 still have not heard a word from Remus. We had to hire another more competent attorney from Lincoln, He jumped on this filed petitions and IAW nebraska law house went up for auction 20 June 2017. Properties didn't sell, Legal action exhausted. Leslie Remus not only lied to us once she stated she was our legal representation, but she decieved us by aligning herself with the buyer, a single female. She also lied by stating that the single female buyer was physically assaulted by husband for adultry. With that Leslie Remus told us a lie by stating that the husband is not responsible for property even though his name is on contract, Which we know to be a lie as he is responsible. Remus was insulting, obviously uneducated and willing to take a case that she knew nothing of the law that would pertain to the case and then asked more than ( 1750.00 ) experienced attorneys charge for a case she admittedly stated she was incompetent and not able to handle the case. Being our legal representation as she stated and wrote in email then not getting back with us regarding the issue was neglect and incompetent. She should be disbarred. I and or We do NOT recommenced this so called attorney. She showed extreme bias, incompetence, negligence and greed. Absolutely disgusting person. Do not hire nor even consider the hiring of this incompetence.

I paid this lawyer for my custody arrangement, made a bunch of promises, except the payment, was never able to get into court and was left to settle outside of court, and the settlement we discussed a lot of things come to an agreement, and then my lawyer that I paid leaves out everything in protection of what we discussed, and more or less basically just stopped doing really anything. Been trying to contact this paid attorney to address these issues for well over a year, got a message saying that she would give me my documentation, thought it was a lie because I have not received that and she is now avoiding me again as I'm trying to find solutions to fix these problems. But I can only speak from personal experience.

Pamela Bloch does not even deserve one star. She did not fight for our case, and gave up immediately as my husband was detained by immigration. My husband entered the U.S. with a legal visa and married a US citizen, and if she would've done things right and filed the things she was supposed to file, on time, my husband would've had his residency months ago. Now detained by immigration, he will soon be deported all because of her bad legal advice. She was only looking out for herself without a care in her clients. I suggest anyone reading this, finds another lawyer. A good one.

This attorney does NOT return phone calls, & does NOT represent his clients well. He had a preconceived idea of me, & has used that against me. My mother was his client, & he drew up an irrevocable trust for her. Now, almost 4 months after her death, refuses to even talk to me, or return numerous phone calls. Neither he or the trustee will work with me, the sole beneficiary. He is very unprofessional & uncaring. My mother trusted him to do his job & he failed her.

Condescending and incompetent. Made big promises and then didn’t follow through after getting paid. Did nothing to fight for me, but blamed me for it. Others with felony charges getting 65 days. My misdemeanor charges and sentenced to 360 days with his “representation”. Waste of time and waste of $6000. Save your time and hard earned money and avoid getting the maximum sentence. Go with a public defender or represent yourself. You will be much better off. No stars and two thumbs down!

Mr. Hanquist is an unprofessional, arrogant, misogynistic lawyer with poor social skills and little integrity. DO NOT use him if you are a female or oppressed individual, he is an entitled chauvinist who will likely provide nothing but perpetuation of worldviews that harm.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:

  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
