Hiring Marilyn was the best decision that I made for moving things quickly and without stress. Going into her office, my husband and i were very nervous of what was going to happen and we were clueless of what we needed to do to get what we needed done.

My son was arrested for an OVI charge, along with a related charge. Having never dealt with this issue before, I contacted a trusted friend who is an attorney. He said that Shawn runs the best DUI practice in the Columbus area. We took his advice to contact Shawn and we were very glad we did as Shawn and his team were very responsive, competent, professional and effective.
Shawn's office immediately took our call on a Sunday and scheduled a consultation for first thing the following morning. During the consultation, Shawn provided a clear explanation of the process (including timeline), charges and potential outcomes.
Throughout the process, Shawn and his team kept my son informed of the progress, includings the filings and motions made on my son's behalf, discovery data (including Shawn's assessment of how the data/evidence would possibly affect the case) and reminders of court dates.
Thanks to Shawn and his team, the case was settled with the related charge being dismissed and the minimum sentence for the OVI charge. The OVI laws are complex and I can't imagine how my son would have navigated the process without the help of Shawn and his team.

From the first call with Shawn I knew that I had made the right choice for representation. I hired Shawn's firm to help me get a record sealed/expunged. Once they had agreed to take on the case, the process began quickly and was expertly handled with very little required of me. I met Shawn the morning of the scheduled hearing and he was able to get the expungement order signed by the judge without me even needing to appear.

Consultated with Mike about 5 years ago about being wronged by DCS here in Tucson, AZ. He decided this was a legitimate case of judicial deception and my civil rights were revoked in the actual removal of my child. Mr. Brandon Henderson has represented me on more than one occasion. He is a great attorney and has yet to let me or any of my friends down in court. He studies his cases thoroughly and puts a lot of effort into all his cases and always kept me up to date every time things came up involving my case. I contacted Brandon to work a domestic case I was going through and I have to say picking him was the best choice I could have made. Brandon's knowledge on the law and procedures is amazing I was so impressed by his skill and the way he took the time to explain the whole process of what was going and what steps we should take to get the best possible outcome in my case. I had a very scary, self induced IRS problem with bills and judgements close to $500k. I was absolutely petrified. My matter was extremely complicated and further exacerbated by IRS delays in processing, lost returns and an erroneous, highly complicated notice of deficiency judgement for over $200k alone. Scary, life altering stuff. I was an absolute wreck. I knew could not handle this problem alone but after doing extensive research - it seemed like there was a whole industry of tax attorneys and consultants that preyed on peoples fears and promised easy settlements with the IRS while taking large fees from distressed people like me. Then I found Howard's website and very well written and understandable blogs and I thought I had found a glimmer of hope. We set up a call, I explained my complicated problem and Howard agreed to take me on as a client and assured me that we would be able to get things settled with the IRS . I must say that right off the bat, I am sure I became Howard's most neurotic client of all time. I was an absolute paranoid wreck. My case was so complicated and had many many twists and turns. Howard has an intricate knowledge of tax law but also fully understands how the IRS thinks and works - even its computers.... His website says he is a "friend when the IRS comes calling." But he became more than that to me. He was a psychologist, friend and attorney. I was not only scared, I was quite embarrassed to have put myself and my family in this tax predicament. With each new fear or complication in my case - and there were many - Howard would take my fearful calls, talk me off a ledge, give great counsel and keep the case on course. I'm grateful to Howard and Griffin for getting my complicated case in front of the right people at the IRS, correcting what was wrong and negotiating an acceptable settlement for a third of what the IRS was originally coming after me for. He allowed me to move past this matter and be able to breath again. I am forever thankful. For any of you out there in need of a savior, beacon and advocate on serious IRS matters, Howard and Griffin Levy should be at the top of your list. Its also probably important to say that I live in Connecticut and work in California and New York. Howard is based in Cincinnati. It all started with a letter. I panicked and called one of those 1-800 number places that advertise incessantly. I thought because this one happened to be in the city I lived in that I would get good service and I would be able to show up to an office and talk to someone who can help me with my problem. I paid them a partial payment and quite a handsome amount. Every time I called to check on my progress and pay my balance it seemed that I was connected to a call center. It’s funny that even though part of the purpose of my call was to pay them that they kept pushing a hard sell. Something didn’t seem right. I asked to speak to an actual attorney, it seemed like they put another telemarketer on the line to make me think I was speaking to a lawyer. NEVER EVER call those 1-800 numbers promising to solve your tax problems - they are a scam.
I needed real representation so I started doing some research until I found a very well written article addressing my situation. Howard wrote it. So I called Howard. Within minutes I was talking to an actual attorney. My situation was complicated and Howard patiently listened while putting me at ease. He took my worst fears out of the equation very quickly. Then he began to formulate a general outline of what needed to be done. However you will never have to deal with the IRS ever again, he handles every communication and contact with them. You can sleep soundly knowing that.
Since we are talking about dealing with government the process does take a while but when we finally got into the details Howard amazed me with discussions of strategy and the risks, benefits and probabilities of the different approaches. Reasonably, he never promises any specific result, as he cannot - there are too many variables. He always had a plan for all the potential outcomes. Clearly he is experienced and I later found that he has over 25 years of experience both inside and outside the IRS which shows. He has an insider’s perspective which is invaluable in doing the things that actually matter in getting your case through he gears of slow bureaucracy. Trying to solve your problems yourself would be a fool’s errand considering what I learned about the process from Howard. The consequences of making a mistake could be dire.
In the end process was mostly painless apart from a few days of some deep dives into your accounts, and some basic accounting lessons from Howard.
The result? Remember those ads with the 1-800 numbers with those too good to be true promises? What they promise is what Howard actually delivered for me.

I would highly recommend using Mr. O’Keefe. My case was a very complicated one that required an attorney with not only a strong knowledge base, but the conviction to keep fighting even when there was adversity or opposition. My father contacted Ken Bossin when I was involved in a driving incident that had the potential of leaving me with a suspended license. Since we had never had the need for an attorney in this kind of matter, we were at a complete loss as to how to proceed. In October of 2023, I found myself in a situation that I would’ve never imagined being in. As a person who doesn’t even have as much as a parking ticket on my record, I was charged with theft from a local grocery store. My case was unique as I didn't intentionally take any items from the store, but was instead provided incorrect information by a store employee. Ken took the time to truly understand the circumstances and details of the sequence of events that actually happened and did not stop his work until the charges against me were dismissed. In all of the research that I did before deciding to hire an attorney, I did not see a single instance when charges like mine were just dismissed outright. Typically, for first time offenders the best outcome to a case like mine is being offered a diversion program in exchange for the charges being dropped. Even when the prosecutor offered me the opportunity to compete the diversion program, Ken still went to battle on my behalf and argued the facts of the case until the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the charges. I truly could not have asked for a better outcome or better representation. Ken was on my side every step of the way and I would recommend him to anyone seeking legal counsel, as you will not find someone who puts more time or effort into your case and truly cares about the outcome.
