I hired Darrell to represent me in a divorce. He was paid mostly in cash not once did I get a receipt from him. He will never return my calls or respond to my emails. All the court hearings not once have I revived a copy of the paperwork he told me I would get. At this time I am not able to comment on the other details as there's been a complaint filed with the SC Bar. And an investigation into many allegations.

I have proof that Axelrod has lied to me and I have paper proof of that. They hired a lawyer, ballad and watson to try to intimidate me with letters and letters and letters! I’ve been waiting months and months for the court to send me a court date to defend myself, and to receive my money back from someone that who has lied and deceived me during my whole case. Axelrod gave me back half of my money, I wonder why? Just a warning in my opinion do not use Axelrod and associates. They have deceived and lied to me many times, and was very unprofessional to say the least! In my opinion, I would never use this law firm again, unless you want to lose money with no representation, or maybe a little, but not $5000 worth that’s for sure he cost me nothing but heartache and depression, and I have papers to show that he lied to me!!!! i’m looking for anyone that could help me bring this case to justice and Mr. Axelrod and associates! I have no money I had to go to a public defender because he did not return the funds for not representing me correctly, which is malpractice!!! Mr. Erickson does not pay his expert witnesses in violation of their written agreements. He states many times that he will pay, but in the end all his promises are false and he lacks integrity. I had to file a South Carolina Bar and BBB complaint in attempt to recover monies owed. Still no payment. His poor business practices with his business clients will effect his ability to represent his clients. Forewarned is forearmed!

Words cannot describe how great of an attorney Charles Grose is. I would recommend Charles to anyone that ever finds themselves needing a criminal attorney. I was facing some very serious criminal charges (something that I was fasley accused of) charges that had a sentencing of 25 years to life. Charles is committed to his job as an attorney, which in return means he is committed to his clients. Charles is upfront, serious and straightforward with his clients, he takes his calling as an attorney very serious. Charles listens to what his clients has to say and takes down very detailed notes when you meet with him. Charles is very knowledgeable and has the experience to represent his clients throughly. Charles knows the laws and was always prepared when we went to court. Charles did diligent research of other cases very similar to mine to get examples that supported his arguments that he was presenting to the jurors in order to use those examples as exhibits in my case. Charles was easily accessible: via texts, phone calls and emails with proficient turn around time in getting back in touch with me. I am so thankful that Charles Grose represented my case.

Turned a stressful situation into an even more stressful situation. After waiting more than a month to finally get a court date, Chris tried to convience me to leave before my hearing with the judge. He was only filling in for my lawyer on this day and adviced me the opposite of what my laywer adviced me. The court hearing took much longer than expected and Chris made sure to let the whole court know he was annoyed by huffing and puffing. I am EXTREMELY glad I did not listen to Chris' advice and continued waiting for my hearing. The judge ruled in my favor as my lawyer had predicted and everything is good. Had I listened to Chris' advice I would be steps and steps behind getting my family back together. Horrible experience. Completely unprofessional.

I had to fire a different lawyer on a criminal case that was not helping for 8 months and doing nothing for me and my wife. I hired Christopher Lusk after finding out the previous lawyer had kept vital information from me and Christopher was a great help. He helped us get it handled in a little over a month and I always felt he was telling the truth about everything and sharing what information he had. He would always follow up when he said he would. I would absolutely use him and his law firm again if I needed any help.

I had spent 6 solid years in family court over child custody and related issues. I had used prior respected legal counsel. I hired Mr Hyland because he told me I had a slam dunk case. 1 year later, I was battling just to break even and not lose any parental rights that I had. It all came down to finances. He never expected my exwife to lie and fight I guess. Lol. He never filed inquiries I requested to prove my case and just wanted it over at the end. He was pushing me into a settlement that I didn't want but felt compelled to accept because it was obvious that he could care less. So overall, don't believe in him and dont hire him unless your pockets are deep. He appears to lose that loving feeling as the well dried up.

I sought Mr. Starkes’ service for 2 matters. His staff was very nIce and helpful. I requested assistance for my family purchase of property and for a will amendment for my mom.
The closing was handled in a very professional manner and Mr. Starkes addressed various concerns of my family members, who were located in California. Long story short, the closing was handled in the manner my family desired. And as a result, my has used his firm for more closings and other matters. I found him to be very pleasant, polite, and knowledgeable.
As to the will, I sent my mom to Mr. Starkes to make amendments bc I could not do the amendments. My mom was very satisfied and appreciated Mr. Starkes services. She was able to repeat the advice to me and received all the help regarding her concerns. Since then, she has passed and in review of the Will, Mr. Starkes address must mom’s will in the manner she requested. I think this is why she adored him as her attorney. Since then, I have given Mr. Starkes’ information to several friends and customers in the Columbia area.

Hired Xavier to represent me to negotiate with the insurance company after a boat accident in which I sustained significant facial injuries.
I feel Xavier didn't put the time in to understand the whole picture. He seemed to do a cursory review, if that, of everything. He was telephoning me at least five or six times a week for five months during his representation of me, and I felt I continuously had to reiterate the same things over and over to him. I finally became frustrated and had a conversation with him about it, relayed to him everything he kept getting incorrect, and expressed I was not happy. Three, four days later, he sends me his first draft of the demand letter, and the things I had JUST expressed to him in that conversation were incorrect were still incorrect!
In his initial draft of the demand letter to the insurance adjuster, he didn't even have the mechanics of the accident correct. He indicated I was thrown from the boat necessitating a water rescue. I had relayed to him AT LEAST 50 times the boat hit the pylon, my face flew into the center console and was knocked unconscious, another occupant got a life jacket on me, and THEN the boat sank. Although I told him repeatedly I remembered floating in the river and then being pulled up on the overturned boat and that I had floated in the river for at least 30-40 minutes before the rescuers got to us, he indicated in the letter I had no memory of anything. In fact, he was also told I was not sleeping well because I was having nightmares about it. So with all the information I provided him, plus our nearly-every-day telephone conversations about everything, he definitely should have had that down by five months!
He also didn't have my medical providers or all of the treatment I received correct, and it didn't include some of the significant injuries I sustained outlined (tooth shoved up in my jaw, breaking the jaw and requiring surgery, and shifting of facial bones from impact were the big ones, but there was swelling and bruising that lasted for months as well).
I kept copious notes of my recovery and treatment and conversations with my medical providers and photographed my injuries and the healing process. Xavier was in possession of all of it. In fact, I mainly maintained those records for him so that everything would be all laid out for him. It was disheartening to learn at the end the information I was providing him he wasn't taking the time to read and digest. That is what a client hires an attorney for!
Along with a couple of facial surgeries, I had a few bumps in the road during my recovery. My life consisted of and I was focused on doctor's appointments, surgeries, and recovering. That's why I hired a lawyer in the first place. So I put my trust in Xavier, and I feel it was his job to know my case intimately, to learn all the facts, understand the treatment and surgeries and who the medical providers are, and have a concrete grasp of all the injuries suffered, all so that when it comes time to put the demand letter together and begin negotiations, he is able to speak intelligently about my case and advocate for me with vigor. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
Therefore, Xavier gets two thumbs down.

Received a phone call from Clare Hungiville while I was working (three days before we were set to close on our home). Without mine or my husband's permission, she proceeded with a closing three days prior to our set date. She continued the next day by calling me multiple times asking where our signed documents were about repairs we would agree to make in closing, which my husband and I both made clear to our realtor and Clare Hungiville, that we would not be agreeing to pay. She continued by telling me she would break escrow because our realtor had not communicated our wishes with her or the other realtor. And further proceeded with her rudeness by hanging up on me. I would never ever recommend this attorney and feel sorry for anyone that has to go through the same headache we did with her.

He has helped me all my life while raising 4 of his own kids, law practice, serving in the House of Reps., while starting a farm/homestead. He's like a Superman. If you have a problem he will fix it. I hired Wylie and Washburn to close my home sale because my realtor assured me that she works with them regularly and they do great distance closing processes. The buyer's attorney submitted their paperwork late, and they turned things around in an hour at Wylie and Washburn. However, despite me asking my realtor (and my realtor assuring me that she was in touch with the lenders and the lawyers and making sure everything was on track) once or twice a week whether they had everything they needed, no one reached out until 5pm on a Tuesday (closing that Thursday at 11am) to let us know that all the closing documents would be emailed to us and they would need to be printed, filled out correctly, signed, notarized, and mailed back. As first time home sellers, actively seeking direction and information, in a time when a lot of things are done exclusively through docusign, we needed a lawyer who would communicate the process to us and help us get things right. What we got was a lawyer who waited until the last minute to communicate with us, and who, when they did communicate, did not communicate critical details of what they needed from us promptly and clearly.
Also, my husband's social security number was mis- entered on multiple documents as having 9 digits, not 10.
Additionally, when I politely and firmly communicated my displeasure with the status of their customer service, Jadda Wylie refused to take responsibility for poor service and basically told me it was my fault, and the buyer's attorney's fault. Maybe that works for other lawyers, but where I come from, when you mess up, you apologize, and you ask what you can do to make things right.
Poor communication, unwilling to take responsibility for their role in creating a problem, and unwilling to apologize. I will never work with them again.
Given the service they were offering-- a distance closing process-- there should have been a clear statement of process issued to us at the beginning of the working relationship outlining our responsibility for scheduling time and resources to print, notarize, and return paperwork. There should have been communication with the buyer's attorney that, due to sound a distance closing process, their paperwork was due a week early. There should have been communication with us last week when the buyer's attorney was late with paperwork, and we could have worked together to encourage a faster timeline. Examples of paperwork to sign could and should have been sent ahead of time to make our review process easier and afield us to ask any questions we might have about the process in manner that didn't rush anyone. There certainly could have been mention during the phone call we got Tuesday morning of how this process worked and what was expected, not just a simple "I will send documents later this afternoon, " which is also what anyone says when they send a docusign link. Much and more could have been done, proactively, to prevent problems. What there should not have been was an assumption that all the resources required to make this happen were standing by, waiting. From my perspective, this team of lawyers had 6 weeks to do their work ahead and communicate when they hit road blocks and they did not do that. Very disappointed. I wish I had hired someone else.
