I am a current active duty E-4 in the Navy and my command attempted to throw the book at me for something I did not do. This was all based on hearsay. No facts. No evidence. It boiled down to he said/ she said. Long story short, I was accused of harassment, bullying, indecent language, and hostile work environment to which I was being sent to Battalion level NJP. As soon as I was told this information, I went to Google, found Sean Mangan, and gave him a call. During his free consultation, I could tell he was someone who would get things done. The rest is history. I told him I was innocent and did not do any of these things. His advice was to request a Court Martial in order to fight these claims instead of taking the punishment. This process took an entire year because of all the government delays, set backs, and shady tactics. Sean never wavered. He always reassured me that we were on the right track and he was in my corner. He doesn’t make promises he can’t keep BUT he will fight until the end and will lay everything out, the good, the bad, the ugly. I knew what my options were and what the different outcomes would be. On the day of my Court Martial, as nervous as I was, standing next to Sean eased my worries. He was so professional, well prepared, ready to object to any falsities the government had up their sleeves, spoke so concisely and matter of factly in a way that was extremely comforting to me, as the accused. He’s also funny. I think his slight humorous jokes played into this as well. During the four long days, Sean was on top of it. He listened carefully, tore apart the witnesses' stories, created plenty of reasonable doubt, and overall uncovered the truth to the panel that these accusations had no merit. This was the best decision I could have made and was absolutely worth every dime to hire Sean. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Sean took care of me and my family by getting a full acquittal of all charges and specifications.

I am currently a Captain in the Regular Army, and I owe my military career to Sean Mangan.
My story began five years ago, when I became the subject of a formal investigation. I wasn’t educated on how detrimental adverse administrative actions could be to my career, and I didn’t receive the resultsof the investigation until three months later. The investigation was riddled with errors based on third-party information, and I was treated as an outcast, unable to correct the record. It was terrifying to realize that all my military accomplishments could be disregarded.
After returning from deployment, I became a constant target of my leadership, who prevented me from PCS-ing by altering my YMAV multiple times without consulting me. I submitted a request to appeal the findings of the investigation based on new evidence, but my Brigade Commander denied it and moved forward with initiating administrative separation. I felt hopeless and defeated until I found Sean Mangan. He submitted written responses on my behalf, presenting strong arguments that persuaded the Post Commander to retain me without a Board of Inquiry. Furthermore, his legal expertise led to the Army Board for Correction of Military Records (ABCMR) ruling in my favor, resulting in the GOMOR being moved to my restricted file and giving me a second chance at my career.
As a Company Commander, I faced several instances where Brigade Judge Advocates attempted to push me into initiating a GOMOR or administrative separation on enlisted soldiers based on minimal proof. The formal investigation process is deeply flawed and needs reform.
Sean Mangan is someone who listens and provides hope. With his experience as a retired Army Judge, he delivers the best possible defense. He continues to serve because he genuinely cares about helping service members in tough situations. I will always be grateful for what Sean Mangan has done for me and my family.

I hired Sean to ensure my rank was not reduced at retirement during the AGDRB process. He took me on as a client with short notice and was able to present my case and bring a hammer to fight back against the issues and damage my former command left me. His understanding of the military justice systemand processes is unmatched, being a former JAG officer. In the end I was able to retain my current rank at retirement - money well spent in my book. My only regret was not hiring Sean earlier when the salacious accusations were made against me, and relying on the provided military attorney. Just like Soldiers, not all military assigned counsel are the best or prioritize your situation. Hire that private lawyer early and fight back. Most commanding officers are risk adverse politicians and will side with the safest option for military justice. Do not give them that option. Hire Sean and let him fight it out for you to provide the best chance of winning your case and retaining your good name and reputation.

Mr. Kirk handled my case with knowledge and care. He is well informed, he kept me informed, but at every point in my case I felt like I could just "let go" - feeling comfortable that I hired a professional who is respected as an "elite" in his field. I did understand, before hiring Mr. Kirk, that he is very busy, and sometimes our conversations were brief because of this- however, I appreciated that. The good ones are always busy.

I was arrested for DUI in Kirkland, and it was my 2nd DUI arrest in less than 7 years. The seriousness of a second offense is greatly increased over a 1st offense, the mandatory penalties, the monetary fines, mandatory jail time (Minimum 30 days). I am a professional, a father of 3 young children, small business owner with employees who also depend on me. Very unnerving to consider how spending 30 days in jail would affect me and those that depend on me, not to mention the very significant monetary costs, driving restrictions, home monitoring, etc.
I did a lot of research, and interviewed 3 attorneys to represent me in this DUI case. All 3 were very highly rated, with very positive reviews. I was impressed by all of them. I chose Bill Kirk to represent me based on his analysis of the circumstances of my case, the aggressive strategies he proposed to attack the case against me, his great familiarity with the Kirkland Municipal Court system and it's prosecutors and judges, and just the overall impression I got from meeting with him. He was clearly very intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced, and competent, as well as being warm and empathetic. He was very easy to talk to, took the time to explain all my options, outlined all the steps that I needed to take. He was not the least expensive of the 3 attorneys I interviewed, but he inspired the most confidence, and ultimately I decided that Bill Kirk was the attorney that I most wanted on MY side in the courtroom.
Bill did a wonderful job representing me in the courtroom. He analyzed every detail of evidence, he was exceptionally well prepared for each pretrial hearing, he presented logical and organized arguments against all vulnerabilities in the prosecutors case against me. He was clearly well liked and well respected by all present in the courtroom.
Ultimately Bill Kirk was able to get my case dismissed before going to trial. What a GREAT relief that has been for me!
Bill and his staff always acted with great professionalism, and also with great sensitivity to how embarrassing and scary this situation is for his clients. I think it would be VERY hard to find any attorney anywhere who would be able to provide a better or more capable defense against a DUI charge. I give my very highest recommendation to William Kirk. Also my sincere gratitude.

He had my speeding ticket dismissed and I basically didn’t have to do anything besides pay him the amount I was already about to pay toward the ticket. He accepts Venmo which made the payment process even more convenient! He also communicated really well through both phone and email.

I was involved in a collision with an uninsured motorist in Fall 2023. At the advise of a friend, I contacted Andrew Cherin to assist me with the claim mediation with both my auto insurance and my health insurance. He was able to claim me the maximum payout from my auto insurance, and got my health insurance to waive any reimbursement out of the auto claim! I am positive things would not have gone as well as they did without his help. I pray that I never need his services again, but for sure know that he's the one I would call if I do!

CliffsNotes Review: Hire this firm if you can!
Where does one even begin when trying to give thanks to a team that has helped during such an emotional, stressful, and difficult time? The lawyers and staff at The Law Offices of Lance Fryrear have been such a blessing. After the police were called and an arrest was made, it felt like my life was over. I felt so powerless during those initial days where the court process and legal battles seemed beyond hope. I am not sure how I would have made (and continue to be making it) through this legal process without Lance and his team. Everytime I called with a worry or concern, Rachel and Shannon would answer the phone, listen attentively and provide encouragement. They never made me feel like a burden or annoyance (even when I felt I was because of all the anxiety). Lance and Colleen worked to support me through a Civil PO that was filed in addition to my pre-charge criminal defense needs. Colleen went above and beyond, helping me reach out for my personal items, providing comfort and support, and always making me feel like a priority. Lance not only brought so much legal knowledge and experience (check out his Youtube), but his ability to understand the process and speak to the emotional side really was a game changer. Before agreeing to help with the Civil PO, he listened attentively to the situation. Lance and his team agreed to help me with the criminal defense matter, but only wanted to commit to helping with the Civil PO, if there was something they could actually do in my situation to help. His firm is not interested in saying “yes” to everything to get a paycheck. They actually care about YOU and YOUR SPECIFIC case. He felt based on my circumstances, that although filing a written response might not be wise in my case, there could be other avenues to explore, and thus agreed to help with that legal matter. If you work with Lance and his team, it is worth every penny. Make sure to listen to his advice! You, like me, will likely have to fight the urge to want things resolved yesterday. Fight the urge to want to act out of frustration from not having your side heard by the justice system. Fight the urge to think that your ideas and timing are right and that slow justice is not justice. Time is your friend in many of these cases. I worked to trust Lance and his team with this, groaning in my mind about the long lengths between court dates, but in the end he and his team were right. Time can change people and circumstances. The Civil PO was dismissed!
For my pre-charge criminal defense, my lawyer Elisabeth also worked tirelessly to support me by answering questions, reviewing documents, and helping me with ancillary issues related to my case. She always made time for me and I felt heard and cared for by her. This is a quality not all law firms have, but it ended up being so important to me, so do not overlook it if it is important to you.
It is so valuable to work with lawyers and staff who are empathetic and patient since a lot of the struggle is trusting that your team really cares about you and your case. If you want a law team that will not only work to get you successful legal outcomes to your case, but also will help you make sense of things and respond to your emotions with care, I can not recommend the lawyers and staff at The LawOffice of Lance Fryrear enough.
I have had such amazing results, and have felt as supported as possible throughout this process, which would not have been possible without my legal team. Vinny is an amazing attorney, he has helped my “teenage” son multiple times now in court litigating, contesting…. getting major moving violations either reduced to minor or dismissed, minor or major, no problem for Vinny. We are contemplating a move back to Washington state where we lived for many years. Without proper estate planning we would potentially be subject to the Washington estate tax. n our initial contacts with the firm, we clearly identified that we were residents in another state. We were instructed to provide our detailed financial picture as well as our current estate planning documents which we provided promptly and told that our information would be forwarded to the attorneys for evaluation. The following is the email response.
“Thank you for filling out and returning your Questionnaire.
I will forward your information to our attorneys for review. Once they have completed their review, I will be back in touch with you regarding a quote for services and the next steps for scheduling.”
Well over a month went by with no word back from STIB. I finally contacted them by email requesting a status update. Within minutes, I received the following reply.
“Thank you very much for contacting our firm. Unfortunately, we are not able to take on your case. Our firm does not advise out-of-state residents on tax issues. Our focus is estate planning and long term care planning.”
The STIB website clearly tax issues as part of estate planning. I also found no restrictions on attorneys in Washington state providing consultation to out-of-state residents considering residency in Washington.
Needless to say, I was astounded by what I consider to extremely poor communication and timely follow-up. If it is indeed not their policy to advise out-of-state residents on tax issues, I would have expected to have been informed of that policy up front thus saving us the time of compiling and sending detailed and confidential financial and estate planning information. In my opinion, this represents incompetent and totally unprofessional behavior.

As someone who has no experience with wills or lawyers and doesn’t understand the process, this was a bad fit. It’s quite possible that if you know what to ask or what’s happening that they will be great for you, but for me I ended up with a $120 invoice for two emails I didn’t understand what to do with, going to look for someone else to help us setup out family will.
