I contacted Kirby G Smith for assistance with retaliation/discrimination. Working together we were able to bring to light bad behavour and get my bonus which was wrongfully taken away from me and was mine to begin with and enough money to pay for my attorney fees. Micah is energetic and very professional and fully dedicated to get the job done with patience, integrity and kindness. Thank you whole heartedly, very pleased with the outcome. Micah.

I am a current client of Jim Thomas. I have been very impressed with Jim's knowledge of Georgia law regarding litigation, his familiarity with the local courts, and his tireless focus on putting together the best possible case on my behalf. He has demonstrated success by winning each of three verdicts involved in our litigation. I feel very confident in our ability to prevail in court with Jim as my attorney.

Scott is constantly thinking about how to improve his practice with a particular focus on the client experience. He counsels with the client's best interests at heart. He's developed non-competes for us, employment agreements, NDAs, and represented us in litigation and settlement negotiation. But more importantly, he's always available to provide thoughtful input and advice about any challenge or opportunity facing our business.

I had a complex bankruptcy to go through with a house, etc, and had no idea as to how to get through it all. King and King walked me through it, and was able to make it a lot less scary, and in the end it was a smooth process and I knew what to expect. I would recommend King and King, to any one facing these tough choices.

Dean came from a poor family in NY, if I remember correctly. Through hard work and determination he has come to the New York of the south, GA, to represent the people in law. Dean is the best lawyer I have ever had the privilege to have represent me. I was amazed how well he understood and remembered all we discussed. He is refreshingly honest and straight forward, explaining everything up front and in terms you don't need a pocket dictionary to decipher. Dean Stathis goes the extra mile and then some to ensure the best possible outcome for his clients. I would strongly recommend him to anyone.

I contacted Mr Zucker's firm for a consultation regarding an ADR matter. I expected to hear back from a paralegal or assistant. Surprisingly, I received an email from Mr Zucker advising he would reach out to me later in the day. As promised he telephoned me and listened. He took the time to recommend options and gave me some very good guidance. Even though we both agreed his firm was not the correct fit for my needs he did not rush me off the phone. He answered every one of my questions. It was a refreshing conversation as if I was speaking to someone who was not only in my best interest, but someone I had know for years. You folks in Georgia, and in Atlanta in particular, are lucky to have a Scott Zucker in your community.

When Kim Worth agreed to take my case, I already knew that I would be victorious with my suit. She already had a reputation for fighting for her clients. Ahe certainly did not disappoint. Not only did Kim and her staff guide me through the whole litigation process with professionalism, their compassionate sensibilities kept me grounded personally when everything in my life was crumbling around me. Everytime I was in contact with her staff they were knowledgeable and found answers to my questions without making me feel that I was bothering them. Everytime Kim spoke on my behalf, she represented the sentiments of my position on why I filed suit with clarity and conviction. Whether in private conversation, in deposition settings or while negotiating on my behalf, I have never had any reason to question if my attorney was prepared to represent me. She and her staff were ALWAYS ready. I am forever grateful for the Thrasher Worth team and I will never be able to repay them for all of the long hours they worked on my case for 3 years. Of course, she would receive an excellent rating from me since she did exactly what she said she would do for me, and that was to handle my case so that my interest would be protected.

Mr. Larson has handled several cases for me, always with a better than expected result. He clearly outlines options and explains how the law will dictate certain matters related to the case. He has a brilliant legal mind and in my experience, he has creative ideas based firmly in case law. He's not one to shy away from thinking outside of the box while keeping his client clearly in the loop. My experience with Mr Larson has included large commercial construction disputes, employment non-competes and very complicated civil contracts. His associates are also very sharp; he is well respected not only in Georgia, but nationally.

I was rear ended by a limo driver in June of 2012. The policy holder of the limo fraudulently obtained insurance [reported it was a private, NOT FOR HIRE vehicle]: after the collision claim was settled the at fault insured was cancelled and my uninsured motorist coverage took over. I ultimately had a rotary cuff surgery, missed several months of work in recovery, then had to have another surgery on my hand – all related to this claim (over $50,000.) [over a 20 month span.] My employer's insurance policy paid all medical and surgical claims and came after me to reimburse with any settlement from the UIM Coverage. I received short and long term disability benefits (over $80,000.) Both the Medical and the Disability Insurance Companies thought they should get some reimbursement from the UIM. My auto coverage insurance company thought that I was not due the total benefit of $50,000. In UIM coverage because they seemed to think the accident was not severe enough. Jim Stewart not only got auto coverage to pay the full $50,000; but, made it possible for me NOT TO HAVE TO REIMBURSE THE MEDICAL OR DISABILITY INSURANCE COMPANY ONE RED CENT. And, I have not heard a word from them since... This man is a Super “Pit Bull” Attorney who will protect your interest the fullest extent. I have been very pleased and so has everyone I have referred to Jim over the last 12 years that I have known him. Without a doubt, if you want to keep what is yours, what you have coming to you, and stop the competing companies from grabbing all the benefits you have been paying for and rightfully deserve, Jim Stewart is the person to trust your case to . He is simply the best!

I was involved in a auto accident I was rear ended by a negligent driver. I missed countless days of work, suffered injures that enabled me to preform daily activities. I contacted Daniel and his law firm who went to bat for me in every sense with the insurance company. They were always in touch, always had all the answers to any questions, respectful, and caring! This law firm carried me through a horrible time of my life. They were always there for me day by day and that gave me time to concentrate on healing. A level of trust and caring that I will always be truly grateful for. Daniel is a knowledgeable and experienced attorney. More importantly, he is a compassionate, which is essential when it feels as though your life is falling apart. I highly recommend Daniel Kalamaro and Clifton Law Firm.

As of 2015 I was assigned Lacey Rochester to help me in the proceedings to have my name changed. In the midst of our work she was offered a new position and had to reassign my case. Patrick immediately stepped in and continued the process, making sure that all documents were filed and taken care of. Seeing my new name become legal means so much to me and I'm so grateful for both Lacey and Patrick for making this girl's dreams a reality.

Well this review may be weird but true and to the point. My name is David and I was a defendant before Marc Mallon appealing and trying to get my banishment modified or lifted. While he did oppose this, he was not malicious or vindictive nor did he lie in his briefs nor was he really rude or anything. He seems like an alright guy. He states the facts and that's that. In all honesty I wish him well and he seems knowledgable.

Jessica is the most incredible attorney I have ever seen. She, just today, garnered a settlement with my ex-wife that had harassed my family and I for the last 8 years. I was granted primary custody of my 10 year old daughter and Jessica didn’t miss one single beat. Unbelievably thorough, absolutely comprehensive knowledge of the law, incredible litigator, and all around excellent human being. She advocated for the well being of my daughter and got the outcome that will ultimately help my daughter heal from a very dysfunctional mother. I consider Jessica the most incredible person in her craft. I could not imagine giving her anything but my highest praise and recommendation. Look no further.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
