Mark was the most difficult person to speak with and when we would speak, he treated it like he was always in a rush to get me out the door. I never felt that Mark had my best interest at heart and was made to feel as if I was a bother for all the questions I had. I’ve never been in trouble before so of course I had questions. So fast forward to the end of the case. We felt as if Mark wasn’t interested in talking with the Prosecutor and when he did, he didn’t seem to fight on my behalf. So, when it came time to agree on a settlement, I trusted that Mark had my best interest at heart. The DOL revoked my license for 365 under admin suspension after the DUI, then after the conviction, they tacked on another 365 days for a total of 2 years. I have come to find out that Mark could have negotiated my license suspension from 365 days to 90 days which he never even discussed with me. I asked Mark about it before the hearing, and he said it should only be the original 365 days. Then I get the letter from the DOL a few weeks later that it is in fact a 2 yr. revocation. Mark could have fought that but never would return my calls. Not sure how he received such high ratings because he did pretty much nothing for my DUI case for the amount of money he was paid

We met with Steven about creating our living trusts, having been told by our family attorney that we didn’t need a trust because probate is “so simple” in Washington. It turned out that his flat fee for three clearly worded trusts was significantly less expensive than probate costs for one of us (which our children would have had to pay for out of their inheritance). Steve had all the trust documents ready to sign by the end of the week and we’re quite happy with the work. He is a very easy person to work with. No hard sell or pressure, just straight answers and efficiency. We highly recommend him!

Steve created our Trust, our Durable Powers of Atty.-General and Health Care and Health Care Directives, and out Wills. He provided us a Quit Claim Deed that allowed us to name the new Trust as owner of our new refi mortgage. He was very prompt in getting us our drafts, and the drafts were very thorough. After we read through them, he answered questions we had, and helped us understand our documents. When our input and changes were finalized, he got our final documents ready quickly. He also provided us PDF’s of all our final documents. He was easy to work with, and efficient with the process. He was provided all our documents for a package price, which was helpful for our budget, and knowing we wouldn’t be billed separately for each office and phone visit. We got the entire process done much more quickly than we anticipated. We would highly recommend him for Estate Planning documents.

In February of 2013, my son was charged with murder and assault in Whatcom County Superior Court. We found Dave Nelson on line and became interested in him because had a great reputation with many years of criminal defense expertise. We called him and he responded right away. Within hours of my son’s arrest, we were meeting about the case and we hired Dave. My son had self-defense and legal justification as his defense to both charges, but the prosecution insisted otherwise. But Dave Nelson was able to keep the case moving very rapidly and filed a series of strategic motions to flesh out his defense. The government’s case began to fall apart under the pressure that Dave Nelson was bringing to the case. Within eight months (which is a small amount of time for a murder case), all of the work he did resulted in the prosecutor capitulating and finally dismissing the charges. After that, my son was set free and he now has his life back. Dave Nelson’s excellent work saved my son from life imprisonment. If you or your family member is ever in any trouble in the criminal justice system, I strongly recommend that you hire Attorney Dave Nelson as your criminal defense lawyer.

I have a traumatic brain injury. I was referred to him by the attorney who helped me to finally get social security disability after 6 years. That attorney referred me to Michael when I got my "back-pay" from SSD; and helped me to understand how getting a large amount of money could create financial havoc in my life-- losing my home in a public housing unit, losing my state paid caregiver 30 hrs. a week, and losing my state insurance that covers what my medicare never would. He did all of this in a kind, patient way; without ever making me feel like he was "timing" our first consultation or even counting every second when he did the paperwork. He is my favorite attorney ever, I have to say; and I have dealt with a few throughout my life.

She is a competent attorney, but she told me so many times that she would do something that she never did. It was very frustrating, especially with the amount of money I was paying her.
Examples are she would tell me she would get back to me within a couple days and she wouldn’t, she said she would look into many things for me which she never did.
When going through a divorce you need an attorney who will do the things they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do them.

Tom and his team helped me tremendously. I was arrested for two serious felonies. Each charge carried a 10 - 15 year sentence. He was able to get one charge completely dropped and the other dropped down to a misdemeanor with no jail time for my sentence. Three years later his team had my charge vacated from my record. Penny Henderson was a joy to work with. In our initial phone conversation she was encouraging and very supportive of our journey of adopting through foster care. Mrs. Henderson took care of all the communication and bills to the court house and kept us in the loop. She was happy to wait for her payment from the state so that it was not out of our pocket. I used Penny Henderson to handle my collaborative divorce. She was great. I interviewed several attorneys in town who specialize in collaborative divorce, and chose her because of her experience and expertise. She had worked in the legal field for years before becoming and attorney. I was so impressed that she had challenged and passed the bar exam, without going to law school. No easy feat for anyone, much less someone who worked full time. I was also drawn to her calm manner. She was perfect in a collaborative legal setting.
She was at all times professional with me and with the other parties involved. She explained up front what to expect and she spent time asking questions and making sure she understood all my issues. Her explanations of the legal issues were very clear. When I had questions or concerns, she would return calls promptly and always spent time making sure I understood. Her billing was fair and accurate, and about half of what my spouse paid for the same legal representation.
I would use Penny Henderson again.

Pete helped us work through a nasty situation where a neighbor was blocking our view of the water and the subsequent failure of the Home Owner Association to enforce a view corridor agreement.

I would consider Steve Chance to be one in a million. He is one of two lawyers that I have dealt with in my lifetime that had the honesty and fortitude to lay our case out in black and white. He explained the weaknesses and the strengths that our case had and did not make ANY hyped promises as to what we could expect. He has a quick mind and doesn't miss a point during depositions or trial. You would be hard pressed to find ANY lawyer that walks into a meeting as well prepared as Steve.
