I was unfortunately involved in a civil case recently. Since it was my first time, I was really worried and depressed even during the time I was searching for legal advice from various attorney offices. When I was faced with a lawsuit, I was clueless on how to begin to defend myself legally. It's a big decision when choosing the right representation. In 2021, she helped with post-divorce settlement agreement issues that came up when our child started college. I appreciated that she was very frank and she really challenged the idea that the agreement had to be changed at all! In 2023, I asked for help again but she was attending a training. Though she was very busy she kept emailing me to try help with this urgent matter. She ended up recommending a colleague who could see me right away. I hired Larry when I found the house I wanted to buy. It was a difficult sale (a somewhat contentious closing). Larry really listens. He stood by me all the way and was my unfailing advocate. After the sale, I was interviewed for an article that was printed in the Sunday NYTime's Real Estate section.
This was in large part do to his advocacy.

I was arrested and charged with a DUI. Long story short, Ed went above and beyond and got my court dates moved forward, and I left my last day with a headlight ticket. Because he knew the stakes, he spent more time on my case than he had to, he waited in court for the clerk when he could have been doing other work, and he made sure that I didn't lose my job. Sarah is so on point and so quick, it's unbelievable. Thank God she was on OUR side! She's absolutely trustworthy, diligent, committed and ethical. She's one of the people who will ultimately make a difference, and who made a great difference in my life. I wasn't even the main client in a group of cases involving tenants in a building in foreclosure. There were 8 cases in our building. Sarah's clients were the tenants who had children. She arranged with the court to have the cases consolidated into one venue, and she took the time to appear in the courtroom where I had my case, representing me as a friend of the court, and arranged with the judge to include my case with those being consolidated, which gave me crucial protection. She arranged for all the tenants involved, including me, to individually conference at court with the attorney for the bank/landlord, and though he previously had been a very brusque and intimidating man, we found, after Sarah's negotiation with him, that he was very reasonable with each of us, and we all reached satisfactory agreements with him. This would not have happened without the intervention of Sarah Mathison. I'd like to say thank you to her once again (2 years later).

Nadya Kramerova was my real estate attorney when I purchased my first home in the course of October through November 2015. She was extremely knowledgeable about the purchasing and the contract-drafting process. She explained with clarity and patience on all the questions I had, no matter how detailed. When the seller's attorney sent over their draft of the contract, she sat down with me, pointed out all the items that either don't apply or shouldn't be included. At the closing, she took the time to explain to me what the title company does and their role in the process. She is extremely courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. Dara was my public defender in Brooklyn, from pre-arraignment up to right before my case went to the grand jury, at which point we parted ways as I was no longer eligible to have a free public defender and had to hire a private attorney. At the arraignment the DA asked for 15k bail, but Dara was prepared and made an argument for ROR, which the judge ordered. In the time Dara represented me, she was very responsive & proactive, and kept me well informed re. everything going on with my case.
