I would like to take the opportunity to Thank Jeanne Burton for the phenomenal job she did, representing me in an extremely intense Custody/visitation battle. I can't really articulate through words how much gratitude and Appreciation I feel. However I would be remiss if I didnt publicly acknowledge Jeanna for her outstanding work. I knew from the beginning that her representing me was devine. I am a young Father who wanted to step up to the plate and be involved in my childs life but unfortunately I was being Alienated from my son by his mother for several years. She moved out of state and withheld most visitation and holidays. I didn't have much faith in the system so for many years I would allow my son's mother to withhold him from me. I reached out to Jeanne to represent me and within the first court date the Judge granted me summer visitation that was denied to me by the other party. Three weeks to be exact. Not to mention all the make up time for past holidays and breaks. This past year has been such a blessing for me and My son as we have rekindled our relationship and also his family who has missed out on so many great memories with him. They say everything happens for a reason so thank God when I asked the judge for another lawyer because the one assigned to me was not acting in my best interest or providing me any real defense the judge assigned Jeanne Burton.
The cards were stacked against me and my daughter had been removed by CPS almost 2 months prior when Jeanne was assigned to my case.
Jeanne had my case less than 5 minutes before we went before the judge and requested documents immediately, something the first attorney assigned to me hadn't done despite having my case for 2 months.
Jeanne did a lot of research on my case because there was a lot of history and a paper trail that stemmed back over 10 + years. I didn't think she would really care that she was just like everyone else and an officer of the court and I was seen as guilty despite not being guilty. Here she was a court appointed attorney whom I was not paying preparing a defense like I was an elite socialite paying her a fortune to defend me in a murder trial.
The case started to drag and Jeanne requested 1028 hearing and the hearing lasted over two weeks. Jeanne had researched, gathered and prepared for this hearing like I have never seen anyone do. We talked day and night even weekends while she was preparing my case leaving " no stone unturned". I was taken back by her compassion, dedication and commitment to me and getting my daughter back. Her closing statement was lengthy, well thought of and reflected the type of lawyer and person she was all along which was a truly passionate and committed one. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the judge's decision will be mailed to me as the courts are semi closed.
Regardless to the decision and I have every confidence it will be in my favor and my daughter reunited with me.
I don't have a lot of faith in people or the system due to my experiences however I believe that Jeanne Burton is the most amazing person and lawyer I have ever met. I thought because she worked for the system that she wouldn't hold them accountable. I thought because I was poor my defense would be as well but I was so wrong as my lawyer she not only exposed the broken system and called it as such she held them accountable.
I hope I never needs lawyer again but if I do Jeanne Burton would be the only lawyer I would call. Trust me Jeanne Burton is truly amazing and I do not recommend anyone often but I would recommend her 100%.

Been using Richard as my attorney since 2007 when he helped me with a criminal matter after a different attorney could only get the judge to offer probation. Rich got the misdemeanor reduced to a violation (ticket) and I was still able to get a career in law enforcement. Fast forward 10 years he closed on my first home. Highly recommended.

I hired this lawyer for my immigration case of change of status to B2. Although I payed in full his honoraries and other fees on day one, this lawyer has failed my case for not submitting the evidence required by USCIS on time. I tried multiple times, days in advance, to remind him to submit the evidences via phone calls, messages and emails, and he finally missed the deadline and my case was subsequently denied. On the top of that, he have lost the notice 797a from USCIS and after continuous push from my end, he finally "found" the letter ONE MONTH later the arrival date to his office, delaying my departure from the states one month. If I could report this lawyer for malpractice and negligence to a respective organization (which I don't know), I would definitely do it. His bad advice, poor experience and unprofessionalism costed me 10 years of work as a physician due to immigration problems. I strongly suggest to avoid this lawyer because of careless and lack of ethics.

I HAD SLIPPED INTO A DEEP HOLE OF DEPRESSION& ADDICTION AFTER WAKING UP NEXT TO MY SPOUSE DEAD I 100% AGREE THAT REMOVING MY CHILDREN AT THAT TIME WAS BEST FOR THEM AS I COULDNT EVEN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF. I WAS SENT AWAY TO REHAB COMPLETED &RELAPSED WITHIN 2MNTHS, I WAS FACING JAIL & JUDGE GAVE ME ONE LAST SHOT. 8 COURT MANDATES TO COMPLETE IN 1YR IN ORDER TO GET MY CHILDREN BACK & BASSETTS EXACT WORDS(THAT I WILL NEVER EVER FORGET) TO ME(IN FRONT OF MY MOTHER & OTHER WITNESSES) WERE: IF YOU COMPLETE ALL MANDATES AND DO WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO I "WILL NOT" STAND IN YOUR WAY OF YOU GETTING YOUR CHILDREN BACK! When I came into Family Court they wanted to put a neglect charge on me for taking my child out of special classes in school. Who am I again that I can't do that according to them? The parent. That's the first disrespect.
All hell has broken loose in my case due to the actions of this arrogant law guardian and it's all due to her disrespect for parental rights and that she does not know anything about Family court law.

I have never experienced such an incompetent law office in my life. They have been working on a case for my family for a few years now and they are never in the office, the phone is frequently out of order and when you are able to get through they never return phone calls. They never submit paperwork on our behalf and do not inform us of updates or provide us with copies of anything. They use an outside service and the person who is handling the file cannot be contacted. We are in the process of replacing this horrible so-called attorney, FRANK TANTONE. Stay away from this firm. They have no website either. Shady.

Joan was recommended to me by family for a divorce. She was very arrogant and rude, she gave more of her opinion than legal advice. I lost a lot of time and money by not hiring a real family law attorney to start with. She would become angry and combative if you asked her the simplest law question or try to get answers on your case. She coached me to settle on the first offer the opposing counsel offered. She had no fight or willingness to help find the best solution for your case. At times I felt she was looking out for the opposing counsel and clients best interest verses mine. When I terminated our agreement to hire another layer she put some very nasty accusations in her motion to the judge about the case and my character to the court. For your own sake and the sake of your case do not use this attorney. She may have been great in the past and had great recommendations from the past but she is not good to use now.

This woman is a disgrace to the family court system. She allows cases to drag on for months and years with no effort of resolution for the families. She will scheduled conference after conference for months and years at hope the "case go away". She is clueless in understanding the needs of children and families and will cause further harm if you allow her to hear your case. this lawyer was TERRIBLE. She did not have my best interest in mind. She gave me falso information saying that I could not be in court. She also told me the evidence that I had presented to her did not matter, even though it could’ve made a big difference in my case. Do not hire her or even have her as your public attorney. This so called support magistrate oversaw a case between my daughter and I a couple of years ago. My daughter walked out! This was on a tape which this magistrate refused to look at for 3 years. I am a widow. I was left without a pension and no medical insurance! I was made to pay $350 a week to a 17 year old that walked out. There was another sibling involved. He was ignored. I am now on public assistance due to this awful case! This case was horrible! There is no justice in Suffolk county courts. A teenager was shown she could get away with anything thanks to the lack of discretion of this support magistrate and the attorneys involved!!! Thanks for tearing our family further apart Livrieri!!
