I was consulted by Tanja over the phone. She failed to let me speak. When I was finally able to ask what the difference between a pre and post nuptial agreement was she explained it was BEFORE and AFTER marriage - obviously. After I asked about the difference in legalities she reminded me how ridiculous this conversation was due to our timeline (which I had told her we were not pressed on a PREnup but wanted to understand the difference). She then went on to say how contentious these situations can be and how they’re “never pretty”. Tanja was rude, short and disheartening. I left the conversation confident I would not be providing her with my business.

Had a very difficult and complex divorce case that involved investments, future businesses, and a complex support agreement. Bridgette, was patient, reasonable, and keep the case moving, despite weak follow-up on the opposing side. In addition to being an excellent attorney, Bridgette is one of the finest human beings I have ever come across in my career. I would recommend her to any potential client without reservation. I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Korey. As someone who was entangled in the criminal justice system for more than twenty years, I have had my fair share of ‘lawyers.” Not a single one has even come close to the dedication and genuine concern that was demonstrated by Mr. Korey when representing me on a felony drug charge. Mr. Korey spent numerous hours with me in his office going over the case, asking me questions, and actually doing his job, something I had never experienced with my previous counsel. Never had a previous lawyer even asked me what happened. I only knew phrases like “they are offering you a plea and we’re taking it.” Mr. Korey was not like that at all. He does not settle cases with bargains, he wins cases on his clients behalf. Because of my past experience with the criminal justice system, I obtained a BA in Criminology and focused on the law as a graduate student. This was when I became to know Mr. Korey. Unfortunate circumstances but a very fortunate meeting, and ultimate win of course, by Mr. Korey. The only thing I regret is not finding him sooner. I consider myself fairly educated on the law and certainly someone who knows their constitutional rights–and when they are being violated. Sadly, that is not always enough to win a case. You need an attorney like Mr. Korey to be your voice in the court room and fight for your rights. The court did not care what I had to say but they listened real quick when Mr. Korey took the case. He actually pointed out ANOTHER violation to my constitutional rights I had missed. It was amazing and simple refreshing to witness a lawyer practice law. He is a force to be reckoned with, a powerhouse and although he has the title/label ( and rightfully earned) of “super lawyer,” the term does not even do him justice. I have multiple times and still do, wholeheartedly recommend, without any hesitation, Mr. Korey to anyone who is in need of counsel. Do not waste time as I did, call Mr. Korey (yes, he is an attorney who actually takes calls and speaks with you).

He failed to show for a hearing after confirming that he would be there, and failed to communicate in any way about the 2d hearing. I requested that he withdraw a motion that he made without consultation, and he failed to respond to my request, or communicate in any way. I discharged him, and am happy with my new attorney.

He does not allow the someone to be taken advantage of by the system! He will be honest about the outcome and will be there step by step until you make it through to the other side! Kevin was recommended by a friend who had used him in the past year and he had gotten the positive results I could only dream of attaining. I was facing 3 different felony cases (5 felony charges ranging from an F3, F4 and F5s) and 4 misdemeanors in two different municipalities. And even though I had 3 different judges Kevin was there on time for every single appearance. The great thing about Kevin is you won't let you be judged solely on the charges that are filed. He will let you know straight up what the best possible outcome will be and pushes to keep to that word! Thank you Kevin for your help and hard work!

After I was charged with an OVI , I fired my first attorney for not showing up for my 1st pretrial. I hired Mr. Cafferkey after a recommendation from a friend. I met with Mr. Cafferkey to develop a strategy for my case. The first red flag that came up was that he suggested that I accept a charge reduction to Physical Control which I was 100% against doing. I insisted on going to trial and Mr. Cafferkey wasn't happy about doing this. The Second red flag that came up was after 3 or 4 pretrials he was being really passive. He ever filled a Motion to Preserve for which my 3rd attorney did. The Third red flag was when we were at the ALS hearing I requested that if the officer doesn't show up I asked for him to put in a motion for dismissal. He said he would do it and when we were at hearing he immediately starts talking about driving privileges and skills the ALS dismissal. I had to fire him in court to advocate on my behalf. I hired Pattituce and Associates and got the desired outcome that I wanted. It's almost as if this attorney was colluding with the other side. I'm glad I was smart enough to realize he wasn't doing his job and that he needed to be fired.

Ms. Paris was very efficient, professional, but also friendly and understanding. She was a pleasure to work with and I felt confident in her abilities to handle my case. Through such a difficult time it was a relief to have a competent lawyer who was also easy to talk to. After my accident, it was overwhelming talking to the insurance companies, while also being in pain. As soon as Ms. Paris became involved all that worry was taken off my shoulders and I could focus on getting better. I had an idea of what my compensation for this case should be and she exceeded it. I highly recommend going with Ms. Paris.

The first time he missed court I chalked it up to a mistake. The second time he missed court, the judge was visibly upset and I knew I got a dud for a lawyer. After he missed court I waited for him to call me with a new court date (as the judge instructed me to do). One week went by before I called him...... and called him..... and emailed him....... Another whole week passed before he called me back. That's 2 total weeks (14 days) that it took for him to call me back. He did apologize, but for what I paid him......... not good enough. I had an OVI (my first) which he was unable to get reduced to Reckless Op. I'm in the probation process right now and need a few things from the judge in order to carry a firearm (as needed for work). He, of course, has been MIA on this front. Just recently I asked him to call me back Monday EITHER WAY on this question. It's Wednesday....... and nothing. This guy is either a really bad lawyer or is simply not interested in my case. Whatever the case, I paid him upfront. If he doesn't want to continue as my lawyer return my money (even half, or a quarter, I'm reasonable) and move on. DO NOT USE BILL MCGINTY. Side note: I attended an OVI hotel weekend (as a jail alternative). A guy I met there had Bill McGinty's law partner (either Hilow or Spellacy, forget which one) and he told me that his lawyer also missed 2 court dates. WOW. You may want to avoid the entire law firm.

I was charged with probably the most serious misdemeanor one could get and due to the specific facts of the case, the cards were stacked firmly against me. I knew I needed an expert right away. I called Mr. McGinty's office and was greeted by the firms friendly receptionist who then transfered me to William. He was very understanding and paid close attention to every little detail. He invited me to his office for a no-charge consultation (Which is almost unheard for an attorney of this skill level.) and immediately helped to put my mind at ease and explained the consequences of any possible convictions of Domestic Violence. I retained him and he went to work right away, and after about 2 months of aggressive Pre-trial negotiation, he was able to convince the prosecutor to reduce the charge (She was originally planning to take me to trial and have me convicted on the very serious charge and did not want to budge.) This attorney essentially saved my life.

He's very hardworking, dependable, reliable, and he doesn't "beat around the bush". He will work hard for you and has reasonable fees including, many times, a client's favorite type of retainer: a flat retainer. He'll estimate the costs and it will be one fee and he will even make concessions sometimes to split payments, although that's never guaranteed. He is a reasonable man, though, and a good lawyer. If you need a criminal defense lawyer or appellate lawyer, he's the man for the job.

I hired Debra Turner to help with a custody case. She was my lawyer during a guardianship placement. She was very professional during the times we met at her office. She was very clear about my options. She was very thorough about taking on this case. She did a good job explaining the options that I will be facing if I proceeded with this custody. This turned into be a difficult custody case as the child had some negative history and issue unruly and a host of family concerns. During this process, Turner, constantly provided me with outside courtroom conversations as it related to the case. I was informed by her that the judge would not grant full custody because of the situation that this kids has been involved with. However, she is willing to give me custody for a year and if it works out then we can move forward and I would not have to do anything. The judge was afraid of the dynamic of my current family and the kid coming into it. Turner assured me that this will work out for the better because you do not have to be committed permanently. I said great, I will let my husband and family know and let you know how to proceed. We meet again at the courthouse and I was ready to go feeling better that I may have an out if this goes wrong. After everything was said and done the magistrate asked if I fully understand what my lawyer explained and I responded "yes". Nine months after the proceeding, I contact Turner to explain that it was not working and we needed to contact the magistrate and what I heard next knocked the wind out of me. Turner, responded to me yelling and screaming that she had no idea of what I was talking about and that I was stuck with him til 18. I was so torn up I did not know what to do. I did not know what to tell my husband nor family. I waiting a few weeks and contacted her again. I explained when and where this conversation took place. She exclaimed that it would be against the law for anyone to give you temporary custody. She said that this conversation never took place, that she never told me any such thing. I provided her with a narrated script of her words and she insisted that this was not said and I was making this up. Since this was a private custody there was nothing she could do. I continued to explain and she just shouted that the only way to free myself would be to file a motion and I have someone else take the kid. Then she later stated that if this was through the courts that this is what would happened but because I did private this does not apply. I informed her that what she just stated was what she had stated to me outside the courtroom. I am not fighting to provide a different placement for the kid other than with my family. As I was new to courtroom proceedings, outside conversations, and what is all included and not included in journal entries. I did not know that these private conversations should never be private. Always have more than one person with you, I had one other person and it did not matter. I would advise people to make sure everything is in writing. And the most important lesson I learned is to go back over the journal entry with your attorney after everything has concluded. The journal entry is very vague and limited. I also found out that it would cost me thousands of dollars to get a copy of the court manuscript.

Attorney Deborah Turner really cares about children and the fairness of the law. I used her as my attorney and she educated me about why laws are the way they are and how they protect both sides in our case. Doing so she saved me a lot of time and money. The case came out fair to all involved. I love her advocacy for children. She is a great attorney and I would use her again. She would make a great Judge.

I would highly recommend Chapman Albin as I had Phil Vujanov represent me for a suit against Ameriprise. I must say thanks to his lengthy research, professionalism and perseverance I did fortunately win my case!

Harvey is a liar he told my son he knew he was innocent. He told my son the judge knew he was innocent, that if he took a plea deal he would get probation and we could fight to clear his name after the case was over. My son is in prison on a 7yrs prison sentence. Harvey hid information that would have cleared my son, that our private investigator located in my son's file in Harvey's office .. He railroaded my son. He was working with the system to lock him up. To close a case. On the day of the set trial, Harvey Told my son you are a black man they're to find you guilty just because you are black. My son wanted to go to trial. He fired Harvey Hired a new attorney who file a motion to vacate his plea, but Harvey and the judge were friends. He told us he was BEST friends with the Judges Dad. So instead of probation my son was sentenced to 7yrs. My son was 29 at the time, had no criminal record, was working fulltime and in college fulltime. Never been in any trouble. Now no one seems to be able to or want to help him since he'd taken a plea. Now here we are 5 yrs later still trying to get help for him.

I hired Harvey for my first and only brush with the law. I had one charge originally without any prior record. Harvey said I had no choice but to plead guilty. There was no negotiating. I plead guilty to the same original charge. During my imprisonment, I had multiple corrections officers tell me my attorney was obviously involved in some corruption with the judge/prosecutor. They took a look at my case and said it was crazy I ever had to do prison time. Harvey never seemed to care. He literally showed up at my hearing, then again at my sentencing, never contacting me outside of our dates in court. He does not care, just wants your money. Consider this your warning - do not hire him! Side note - I will say John M. that works for him does seem to care. He should do himself a favor and find a job working with another attorney.

Harvey was hired to defend us in a civil case, told us to use all our money to save our home. We had a good case and was ready to go to trial, he totally blew us off, did not show up for hearings, I found out he dropped the case by reading the court dockets online, he did not even have the professionalism to contact us himself. We lost our home, savings and retirement money because of his negligence. Do not hire him, he only cares about himself.

This was one of the worst experiences of my life!!! A bankruptcy that should take 3 to 4 months, took 1 year to complete. Simply because they take on more then they can handle. Because of this we also had to retake (and pay!!!) To take the test again.was told because so many people are filling for bankruptcy.and that's my fault how??? We also had to pay another $300 on top of the first $1200 we paid because of another screw up the did.i could go on and on but I have wasted enough of my life on this horrible horrible experience!!! I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy!!!

Contacted and hired this Lawyer. He gave very careful instruction to us and in return we lost everything following his advice. We were advised by the company that we were dealing with that all that we needed was a payment arrangement and that we were not in a place where bankruptcy was needed. This Lawyer told us to ignore even letters for us to appear in court because he had the case under control. In which we did not appear in court following his advice. And we had to seek counsel from other Lawyers (while he was still working for us) to find out that we should have gone to our court cases. Too much time passed waiting to hear back from our hired attorney, as he became silent. So many questions were left unanswered. And we were clueless as what we were to do. Needless to say that we literally had to hire another attorney, just to find out what kind of rights we had and to try and help turn the situation around. We were actually just financially fine without a Lawyer. And dealing with this one gave us problems that we have never had. Would not recommend him to anyone.

John was my lawyer and helped a great deal but he has no “bed side manner”. Very rude...for instance I was waiting and waiting for court and he left to see another clients so I called his office to ask what to die because I needed to work and was waiting 2 hours for a pretrial...when he came back he yelled at me in Front of other people and said he was thinking about with drawling as my lawyer because I called his office and I’m asking like an A-Hole for asking what to do...

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.

For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
