So far Thomas Gilbert has been doing a pretty good Job for me. He is keeping an eye on my NVC case, keeping me calm, and trying to pull some strings to move it along a little faster. He assured me not to over charge me, and I'm sure he will do a good job and keep a high standard of ethics. He will not charge me for anything without keeping me informed. He has not shown any negativity toward me and has been very professional also he takes personal interest in family. I know he has other cases to deal with so he can't get back to everyone right away. I will come back later with a follow up review.

The experience I had with this attorney for an immigration case with my husband was a terrible experience. Among other things, he mailed documents that were incomplete, he forged my signature on a form that was mailed to USCIS without my knowleadge, and he was not honest at all about how experienced he was. On several occasions, he gave me wrong information about how my husband's immigration process would be. He even began to raise his voice to me, and was very unprofessional on many occassions.

The most important aspect of a lawyer is to communicate, she does not return numerous phone calls, thus your inputs are ignored. Save yourself alot of money, look for another lawyer that will actually call you back and listen to your needs.

As a beneficiary of my parents' trust, I hired Reminger Attorney Adriann Mcgee to represent me. I needed someone to look out for my best interests; someone to protect me against the heinous actions of my brother (the successor trustee), who is unjustly administering the trust after the deaths of our parents; someone to help me navigate through the provisions of the trust document; etc..... What I got in Reminger Attorney Adriann Mcgee was someone who was incompetent throughout her representation of me, and someone who has left me in a worse position than I was in before I hired her. Soon after she was hired, Adriann Mcgee said defamatory / derogatory statements about me to the opposing party, statements that no attorney should express about a client to anyone, ever. I did not find out what Ms. Mcgee had said about me until several months later when I read her defamatory / derogatory statements in a motion that the opposing party had filed with the court during the course of my lawsuit. After that, the opposing party continued to use those defamatory / derogatory statements said by Ms. Mcgee against me over, and over, and over, in subsequent motions that he filed with the court, and also, at the court hearings. During her representation of me, Adriann Mcgee did not give me proper legal advice, and failed to present me with all of my options pertaining to a provision in my parents' trust regarding the cancellation of a mortgage that is held by my deceased parents on my property. After she no longer represented me, I was told that as a "courtesy", I would receive a satisfaction of mortgage document drawn up by Ms. Mcgee. The satisfaction of mortgage document that I received contained numerous mistakes, and I had to edit the document in order to correct Ms. Mcgee's errors. Even after I corrected Ms. Mcgee's numerous mistakes, the document itself was useless under my circumstances. Deceased people cannot sign documents, so, it was an absolutely inappropriate document that I could not use, something that a competent attorney would have known. I have done my own research, and according to The Ohio Revised Codes Statute 5301.30, mortgages expire after a certain amount of time. I can just wait for my mortgage to expire, so, it is not necessary to have an attorney draw up legal documents to cancel it, a fact that Ms. Mcgee failed to mention. A competent attorney would have been familiar with The Ohio Revised Codes Statutes regarding mortgages in order to provide a client with all of the available options, and not just mention the options that an attorney can profit from. Adriann Mcgee failed to file an action in court for The Ohio Revised Codes Statute 2108.81, as she should have done. This is a significant blunder that a competent attorney would not have made. Ms. Mcgee's failure to file an action in court for The Ohio Revised Codes Statute 2108.81 has left my deceased parents, and me, with devastating consequences. Her incompetence has allowed my brother to inter our parents' ashes in a place that they never would have chosen, that they never would have agreed to, and a place that I would have objected to had I been consulted, as I should have been according to The Ohio Revised Codes Statute 2108.81. Adriann Mcgee made arrangements for something that I specifically told her not to make. By doing what I specifically told her not to do, Ms. Mcgee set off a chain of events that ended very badly. In order to deceive a colleague, Adriann Mcgee altered an email regarding my case. This has made me wonder if Ms. Mcgee has falsified any other documents. These are just a handful of the numerous issues that I have had with Reminger Attorney Adriann Mcgee. If you ever need an attorney, do yourself a favor, and hire someone else.

Ms. McGee worked on my case with Mr. Adam Fried. She prepared a draft of a complaint on my behalf. I was impressed the way the complaint she drafted. I had just lost my job and was down on my luck and was eventually charged for committing a theft offense. With the help of family and friends I hired Jaye who was willing to work with me to make payment arrangements. Jaye represented me in my theft matter and was able to get me out of it with nothing on my record. The programs he recommended for me actually resulted in my finding my current full time employment and getting back on my feet. I can never thank Jaye enough for all he did for me. I have since hired Jaye for a few additional minor traffic matters and have recommended his services to many other individuals who were as happy as I was to have found this professional lawyer who gave me a second chance to turn around my life.

This review is my opinion, it is a representation of my experience with Jill, this review is my opinion, and my opinion only it is a representation of my experience with Jill. When I first met Jill I must say that I was impressed with the office and our initial interview she said everything that I wanted to hear. So I gladly gave her the required retaine. Within days of receiving her retainer she started to change her story on what we were going to do. It was a battle from that point on. I should've listened to my intuition and get another attorney. That probably was one of the biggest mistakes that I made. I do not feel that she had my sons or my best interest in mind. I felt like she cared more about the mother and her best interests. In the end it cost me a ton of money and in my opinion time with my son. We discussed a game plan to become the residential parent once I sign the shared parenting plan, and then once signed, she changed or story again. In short, please as a concerned father who loves his son dearly do not trust this attorney. I think she charges too much and I didn't feel I receive what I paid for.

She represented me in my divorce two years ago. I thought based on the firm, her high price and big office over looking the lake that she would be well qualified. I guess I learned an expensive lesson. Not only did she milk me out of a ton of cash the decree was written so poorly that I am still back in court with my Ex because she failed to protect me. She is a joke and not worth half of what I paid her. I should have just thrown half of what I paid her out the window and kept the other half and then represented my self. I would have been better off

Attorney Gibbons did not send out subpoenas in a timely manner, so therefore my witness did not appear in court. He failed to submit the necessary documents to the court for review as we discussed. He allowed the prosecutor to object every statement from me without a counter complaint and/or interjection. He also requested a significantly high retainer and did not perform. My trial would fall under "miscarriage of justice."

Wouldn't know where to start. Did not respond to any questions or concerns. Did not say a word to the judge in trial. Was not prepared for court at all!!!! We were not informed on the process (most likely not because of the lack of communication, but because no time was dedicated to the case on his end.) However, when there was an opportunity to get any of his attention a lot of things were promised from him, but NOTHING was done. Nothing at all. I wish i could say at least one good thing about my experience with John, but there is not a single thing!!! :(

After being falsely accused of a violent crime, my family member retained Mr. Drucker. He never requested the discovery report, which contained all of the evidence that was going to be used against my family member. He didn't see the evidence until the DAY OF the trial. He was not prepared and made us feel like we had no chance of winning this case. He arranged a "deal" which was horrible. He then pushed my family member into taking the plea. He had given up! I was set up with Ms. Henry by my insurance. We discussed the issue and my goal to avoid a specific thing occurring. She voiced understanding but when she called me back, she OFFERED the other side the specific thing she was hired to avoid. I repeated that I did not want that to occur but she did not offer to try again. She had told the other side to expect this outcome. I believe she did not represent my interests and was only interested in the least amount of work for her. I asked my insurance for another lawyer who handled the issue well.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
