I initially gave my retainer to Mr. Simon in Nov. 6th 2023’. After numerous attempts to retrieve my retainer. I received a text message Sunday April 21st 2024 asking if I have Zelle. I assumed I was going to receive my $5000. However it is now June 24th 2024 and have not received a dime. He never filed any paper work for me. I never signed any documents except for the receipt for the initial deposit. All I want is my retainer returned.

I hired him to represent me in a closing. AFTER I was in contract he asked I wanted to use him for a buyer broker. I realize that would make him half of the broker commission which would amount to $15,000 +. Why would I do that? I was getting a $10,000 credit from the seller, a procedure that I never heard of but he told me it’s perfectly legal, whicjh it turned out to be true. He then said getting him or an associate to be my brokers would get me credit also. I never heard of that also. I trusted him. At closing I saw the $10,000 credit listed but no the broker credit. I kept asking but he said he would explain. Long story short, there was no credit. He had directed me to sign an after with a broker that was his brother in law. The first time I actually saw my broker was at the closing. I had spoken to him on the phone once. He said he could not advise me because he never worked I. The area where I purchased. Stupid me. I trusted him. He also represented me at the same time on an auto accident where I was stopped and got hit from behind. $10,000 damage. Their insurance company decided I was 100% at fault. He told me that in court the judge told the insurance to be real. After 3 years my lawyer me with the insurance company representative, with out my approval and suggested I settle for $4400. I realized he was done with representing me. Hiring another lawyer was not worth the expense of at least $2000. I had lost any respect for him.

This is a situation that can be easily rectified after speaking to you and your Wife. Once the review is removed Todd will contact you to discuss. "
I'd rather spend an additional $1,000 per month on a mistake and show the world your email trying to leverage me. You will NOT buy me. Thank you for putting this in writing....

I reccomend this lawyer, he got one of my cases dismissed relatively quickly, however failed to tell me that the charges against me could be filed again in another court and he also charges a good amount of money for his legal services.

Mr.Zimmer was wonderful, he’s extremely detailed oriented was always very clear on next steps, communication was very clear at all times. I felt comfortable at the min I got into his office, Mr. Zimmer was extremely knowledgeable about the laws and made this process a bit easier between my husband and I, one thing I I noticed about Mr.Zimmer it’s his kindness to understand my needs, honestly he made this process Amicable in between our family. He answered all my questions, I felt safe and well represented at all time. There isn’t another attorney in Long Island that I would trust rather than Mr.Zimmer I’ll highly recommend to any friend or family member you will not be disappointed choosing Zimmer, during one of the most difficult times in your life, it’s comforting to know you have someone in your corner, moving things along as quickly, fairly and and smoothly as possible

Great Mediator very happy!!
I hired Mr. Zimmer to mediate my divorce after interviewing a number or attorney mediators. My husband and I felt comfortable even at the consultation, we weren’t rushed and every one of my annoying list of questions was answered. We hired him that day. After a few sessions we were done and the agreement was extremely well written. Within a month, the entire process was finished. I just got my divorce decree about a week ago and couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Mr. Zimmer to anyone considering mediation.

Marc Weissman of Cobert, Haber & Haber has been wonderful! My husband died in 21 and left us with a mess! After he got his retainer he did nothing. No document production, no motion to get documents from prior counsel. Seven months. He told me nothing. He even tried settling my case without my knowledge. I know because I saw his email from another counsel. He must have made a deal with the other side without my knowledge because he harmed me terribly in my case.

Doug has worked on my case tirelessly for over a year. His knowledge of the law and consideration of an exceedingly delicate situation has been extraordinary. He has both been incredibly professional and personable. I would recommend Doug to anyone who is in need of someone that is both caring and requires an attorney who is well-versed in the nuances of the law.
In my case, Doug was able to change a seemingly impossible situation - an "onion that needed to be peeled layer by layer" as he put it. He is very thoughtful of the fact that my ex is extremely abusive and helped prepare me for what abusers typically make their next steps. In doing so, I have been better able to care for my children in devastating circumstances. He also has helped me better understand the legal process and what is typical vs atypical in the court room. Having that background, the legal jargon and proceedings were easier to comprehend in what has previously been very overwhelming.
While my case is not finished yet, I expect Doug to keep fighting with the veracity and intelligence that he has exhibited thus far and will post again at the conclusion of my case! I think the best I can say so far is thank you for everything Doug!

I had an attorney and was not happy with her services. I consulted several lawyers, all of whom wanted my case for a significant retainer. I consulted with Mr. Barics who reviewed my case, and said that my current counsel was properly representing me. He explained in detail what should be done and what to do if the judge didn't do what she was supposed to do.
I was ready to change lawyers, and Mr. Barics was high on the list. However, his honesty in telling me to stay with my current counsel and declining to accept a large retainer is worthy of mention.
I stayed with my existing attorney, and the case proceeded nearly exactly how Mr. Barics predicted it would.
I did not retain Mr. Barics then, but I am impressed he would decline a client when he felt the client was properly represented with current counsel.
My former attorney has since retired and if I need new counsel Mr. Barics would be my first choice.

Inferiority complex? When she introduced herself to me, she mentioned that she thought I had some pre-formed opinion of her that she was a young girl, incapable to represent me properly. I assure you, i had no pre-conceived notions. She did however prove to be the wrong representation for me. If you are not female, do not hire. Christine Verbitsky represented me in a case involving my ex-wife, where I had been overpaying child support for years. She sat down to negotiate with my ex and after some girlish giggling came back to tell me how many thousands i needed to produce that very day or face incarceration. This from the person who was to protect me. I am still traumatized years later. Just to give perspective, I now have full custody, but my ex still owes me over 30K. This is where Miss Verbitsky has left me. She shamelessly threw me under the bus basically extorting thousands of dollars from her own client, under threat of incarceration. She actually was the only one to ever mention incarceration to me and she warned me it was imminent. I left this attorney review on AVVO, and she immediately emailed me, threatening me with libel or some nonsensical legal action. Please. Sue me, I will counter-sue for the 7 thousand you made me borrow to, "stay out of jail." Should never have happened. I blame my representation entirely for the outcome. Again, look at her reviews, all women Have a nice day.

I have been a client of AnneMarie Lanni for some time now. She has been helping me work through many serious issues revolving around custody of my daughter. From day one, she has always been open, truthful, and communicative with me. I never once felt like she did not care or didn't have the time for my case. Communication has never been an issue. Whenever I needed to speak to her, she has always reached out to me if it was through the firm's portal, email, or by phone. She is extremely friendly and warm, which makes it so much easier to work with her. But do not let her friendly demeanor fool you. I initially gave my retainer to Mr. Simon in Nov. 6th 2023’. After numerous attempts to retrieve my retainer. I received a text message Sunday April 21st 2024 asking if I have Zelle. I assumed I was going to receive my $5000. However it is now June 24th 2024 and have not received a dime. He never filed any paper work for me. I never signed any documents except for the receipt for the initial deposit. All I want is my retainer returned.

Mr Alan Finkel did a great job at handling my legal separation and divorce. Everything went smooth and was never bothered with unnecessary phone calls or emails. He is also very friendly and tells you like it is. Dealing with Alan for both my separation and divorce made me feel very comfortable knowing I could trust in him doing a good job. I had the worst time dealing with Alan Finkel. I was convinced that I should start with a separation agreement instead of a divorce (Despite having no assets to split, no children, and everything being mostly amicable). I took his advice, and now am paying another attorney to undo all of the mistakes that were made in the filing of my paperwork. I felt as though I was being condescended to with most communications, and what should've been a cut and dry separation agreement has been drawn out to a nearly two year fiasco. Six months after filing our initial paperwork, I received a phone call from Mr. Finkel stating that he "accidentally filed my paperwork as a divorce instead of a separation". For whatever reason, he needed me to sign paperwork undoing this. He blamed his office for the mix up, instead of owning up to any part of it being his fault. (For the record, both mine and my ex's packets of paperwork had to pass their hands at least twice, before and after notarizing, so it should've definitely been caught before sending to the courts). He was combative and lacked patience in explaining himself, so much so that myself and my ex were entirely hazy about what the process we had to go through even entailed, or what the next steps we needed to take were. He was obviously frustrated and annoyed at any questions that either of us had about the process, and has now put me in a situation where I am STILL working on clearing up these missteps.
As a matrimonial lawyer, you'd hope that someone could be delicate about these things, and as someone who is licensed to practice, you'd hope that they would steer you in the right direction. Unfortunately, I had neither courtesy.

Mr. Finkel is a very good strategist. He knows his material, is fair and ethical. However, if necessary he will strongly represent you against unethical spouses and their lawyers while continuing to do the right thing. I highly recommend him. He's the real deal!
