This is the most expensive attorney and when dealing with children that’s first time speeding offenders they will only talk to the child who isn’t no where near 18 and doesn’t understand anything going on and to add to it will have the child taking so many different classes when only one class is need by law alive at 25 instead have you driving hours away to take more class with misleading information for the parent to go and when you arrive they won’t allow parents in it has taken almost a year for one speeding ticket that should’ve only took roughly 3 months this is the worse experience I’ve ever had d along with attorneys

Not only did she believe in me, she actually understood my deteriorated situation and felt enough compassion to work with me on the terms of her retainer. Allowing me ample time and opportunity to pay her in installments up to the point of my court date.
I appreciated the fact that she was upfront with me as well as very informative in light of what to expect as my case progressed. I know that having a well-versed attorney surely can influence the outcome of ones case.
She maintained positive contact with me throughout and handled my case very professionally and to be quite honest, she even followed through with me on the aftermath of my case, although the term of the retainer had expired.

Ms. Williams took on our custody case and although she was "affordable", she lacked experience in custody, domestic violence and abuse issues. After we hired her, she did not speak in our hearing and allowed another lawyer, unfamiliar with our case, to take the lead in court, resulting in evidence and information that we had gathered not being presented to the judge on our behalf. Subsequently, we lost custody of our child. We sent numerous documents to Ms. Williams that we felt supported our case, and even though she acknowledged receipt of those items in a timely manner, we felt that she did not properly review them to set our case up in court. Ms. Williams gave us advice about child-support that we later found was inaccurate; and did not inform us entirely of our rights as we asked her to do. Her last-minute, night-before the hearing phone call about "how we were going to approach this" (our case) left us uneasy, very disturbed and completely anxious all night and though the court hearing. We felt very unrepresented and that she did the least possible for the money given to her (which was a lot for our family). We were very disappointed with her "services."

To start, let me say shame on me for not doing enough research to protect my family from getting taken advantage of. I thought that researching lawyers in the area, checking online reviews and following up with a call to speak with someone at this firm about my estate planning needs would have sufficed, but after the experience I had, I’ve learned that I need to educate myself (and others) much more about what to expect.
I called their office to learn more about the firm's estate planning process, fees, etc. I spoke with William. He was very nice and informative (so I thought). He told me to set up an initial consultation for which there would be a charge ($150 for up to 30 minutes, $250 for 60 minutes). When I asked what the fees were for the creation of a will, POA, etc., he didn’t know specifically. I asked if the consultation fee would be rolled up into the cost of the estate planning. He didn’t know, but asked Tiffany. He came back and said yes, that’s often the case.
My wife and I adjusted our work schedules and picked up our 10 month old daughter early from daycare to come to the consultation. It lasted no more than 20 minutes. Frankly, everything that was shared was stuff we could have read about online for free. During this chat, we learned that the firm charges a flat fee of $1,000/person for the will and two power of attorney documents. And that the $150 consultation fee doesn’t apply to flat fee scenarios.
For us personally, the consultation didn’t add value for the price we paid. We didn’t have to have it in person. They could have easily shared those basics via the firm's website or we could have read about them elsewhere online. That would have saved us $150. All possible if the person that answers the phone is equipped to answer questions from potential clients about what they’re actually going to get out of the in-person consultation. In posting this review, my hope is that you're able to better educate yourself on the topic/process so that you can better spend your hard earned dollars.

Mr. Ellis represented me in a very unusual and tense custody case. From the moment I walked into his office, I was treated with respect and consideration from the entire staff. There was not a single moment during the process of preparing for court or in court that I was not confident in our strategy or Mr. Ellis' capability to represent my interests.
Mr. Ellis was also a consummate professional even in response those who were not. It was very apparent that he was well respected by both the judge and other attorneys. And the outcome was exactly what I'd hoped for.
Considering Mr. Ellis is one of the best attorneys for custody and divorce matters in North Carolina, his fees are incredibly reasonable. The way his office handles and bills cases is precise, conscientious and designed to benefit the client.
The only thing I wish I'd done differently is be a better listener. Do everything Gray tells you to do!

In 2012 I hired Gray Ellis as my family lawyer in a child custody case. He was able to get me more time that I had originally agreed too. Throughout the case, Gray kept in contact with me. If I called and Gray wasn't able to answer me at that moment, contact was made within 2 hours during regular business hours. If it was after business hours, I was contacted within 3 to 4 hours. While all this is great, the thing that impressed upon me most was that Gray was more about giving me the best outcome for my money rather than the most money for the best outcome.

First, I don't usually write reviews. This is actually only the 3rd review I've ever written; however, I was so impressed with Attorney Hatcher and her team I was compelled to write this review.
Attorney Hatcher took on my case after I was turned away by 2 other attorneys. Attorney Hatcher was able to get a settlement of my case very close to what I was originally asking for. I am so grateful to the Hatcher Legal team.

As a client of hers over a 3 year period of representation , I only met with her only a few times.... It consistsed of constant , never-ending requests for $5,000 / $10,000 Dollar retainers that were vacuumed up almost as soon as I could pay them. Eventually leading to her to requesting that I just pay $5,000 a month to keep my retainer supplied... After over $100,000.00 dollars of billing, my case never even saw its day in court....It was dismissed on technicality ..... Absolutely nothing was achieved... I refused to pay the last bill that was sent to me for a 35 min oral hearing to combat the dismissal of my case , inwhich I was billed $16,000.00 dollars for ... she refused to discuss the bill with me and come to a fair agreement, and then she promptly sued me for it, adding Monthly compound interest, exponentially increasing the bill to upwards of $30,000.... I regret the day I ever walked into her law office..

Martha McKee and her team is responsive, supportive, efficient, and proactive. I benefitted from her 30+ years of experience and knowledge of the local lay of the land (which is SO important!). I appreciated her patience, straight-forwardness, and kindness, starting with our Zoom video consult, with each email communication, and throughout the mediation process.
Martha was a referral, twice removed. I reached out to her when things in my marriage was falling apart rapidly. I had not yet known all that would transpire at the time - what I would discover and the speed and intensity in which things dissolved. She was with me through the evolution of all the developments, which I kept her abreast of at each turn. It was drawn out because of the other side's disorganization, among other issues.

Very very horrible Gregory Williams didn't even show up for my court date TODAY his secretary said he was at the courthouse but he wasn't so she lied into this whole process over the past 2 months I've spoke to him one time over the phone after I threatened to call the courthouse on them and tell him how he's being an unprofessional lawyer he called me immediately and that was the only time I spoke to him on the phone I seen him one time at my court date which he was late to and have yet to see or spoken to him in a whole month

Hiring Catherine Pavur to guide me through my divorce was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I have made. Catherine guided me though every part of the divorce process with compassion, accuracy, legal expertise, and with an added benefit of being a wonderful person to work with. Her knowledge and experience made the beginning stages of working through the complexity of detailing, separating, and documenting assets a doable process. At each stage where appearances in court were required her guidance turned those appearances from a dreaded unknown to a reasonably comfortable experience. Her experience and knowledge proved invaluable when I had to go through a deposition where she worked with me and advised me on possible pitfalls that, without her, I most likely would have fallen ignorantly into. In the final stage where the court ordered a mediation process where Catherine watched out carefully and fought for my benefit I must thank her for her advice on every offer and counter offer. For it worked out that in the end, with her suggestions and analysis that I was able to pursue the path that I desired and believe I was meant to follow with very little debt and able to retain sufficient assets needed to pursue that course. All these good reviews must be from friends or family members. Worst attorney ever. Wasted time and money with someone that did not care or do what needed to be done at all. Promised phone calls that never got. Hardly no communication at all and have records to prove it he filed what he wanted to file and did no justice. He only did the bare minimum. So disappointing. If you need real legal help for something serious, this is not it.

Terrible Law school. I went here and dropped out after one semester. No support from professors or faculty members. If you ask for help, the professors will refuse to help and catch an attitude with you for no reason. I never been to a school that's so focused on kicking their students out. Almost everyday they reminded us if we don't pass ABC exam, they will kick us out the school. For 1 this school did not give me a scholarship cause they claimed they ran out of funds. I took out 45k in loans. For 45k I should be able to ask any question I want. The crime was also horrible on campus. Almost every other dates we had some type of crime alert about theft, assaults and more. This school does not value education at all. They only care about their homecoming, athletes, and greek life. The things I dealt with on that campus, I refuse to attend another hbcu! The Staff at this law school are a JOKE. Im surprised this school is still accredited. Beware about coming to this school.

I filed Chapter 13 with this law firm in 2018 and through April of this year I paid in over $130,000! My attorney was Koury Hicks.
Everything was fine until I got a letter in the mail from US Bankruptcy stating my case was being dismissed. I called and emailed their office several times to try to understand why my case was dismissed. NO RESPONSE! They have my email and my phone number! Now I'm stuck dealing with the aftermath!
For the amount of money I paid their office, I deserved better than this!
I would advise you to tread carefully if you choose this firm.

Waits until the last minute to need information when you really need something done… takes your money for false labor. She didn’t help me get custody of my son and took my deposit money. The papers she was asked to fix twice was never fixed still has the same mistakes. Very disappointing and misleading. She charged for no work effort put towards my case
