I have just recently finished up a near 2 year long probate and estate case. The case was settled satisfactorily and happy to be finished. This was a long process and have some comments and concerns with choosing Mr. Wasley as my attorney. The Good: Mr. Wasley is knowledgeable and effective. He is responsive in his communication. The Challenges: Mr. Wasley counseled without Empathy. At no time did I ever feel like he cared about my case or myself. I certainly do not need hand holding, however it was quite clear I was just a number not a name. When you have lost your parent and need to go through this process, you expect some level of concern. I felt that many questions or comments I had were bothersome to him. I would think that with how much you have to pay an attorney, that he would welcome questions. I felt inside that I need to apologize for asking a question. I should have retained another attorney, but by the time I realized how it would go, I was already heavily invested. At the time of retaining an attorney, I had quite a hard time finding one available. My suggestion is that if you are in a position where you need an attorney that is somewhat friendly, personable, and empathetic, you should be careful in hiring Mr. Wasley.

My case didn't involve a lot of money. I simply needed legal advice, in a hurry, regarding my rights and the rights of a dementia patient. She was very generous with her time, and gave me solid legal and common sense advice. Megan is very couteous, very friendly and very down to earth. Her advice served me well, and if I do wind up having to retain a lawyer, she'll be the one.

My sister and I hired Megan Salsbury, with Willamette NW Law Firm, with hope she could resolve our estate issue. Megan made a lot of promises and didn't follow through with anything. After making a payment on the bill, we received no resolutions, no follow up email, and ZERO results. Do yourself a favor and hire a firm that has adequate staffing and attorneys that have experience and won't waste your time or money.

What an outstanding Criminal Lawyer Lindsay is and her Assistant Kim is awesome, they believe in your Constitutional Right; that you are innocent until proven guilty, they go the extra mile, and do all they can to prove you are innocent, no matter how long it takes. If you are in need of a Criminal Lawyer, in my opinion, "You will not find a better team to defend you, and I can almost guarantee an innocent verdict will be found. Thank Lindsay, and Thank you Kim, Amazing, Amazing job you did for me. GBU

I did get a nice bouquet of flowers for my 12 grand. If it's the same receptionist, she smells awful. Like a wet ashtray. Save your money, go call Saul. I hired Ms. Crakes to divide the retirement benefits that I was awarded in my divorce. I found her to be very knowledgeable. There were several different types of benefits to be divided, and she was able to answer my questions and explain the process in a way that I found easy to understand. She completed the work promptly and I felt that she looked out for my interests throughout.

I first hired Amanda in 2017. The over all out come that first time was ok. Everyone was satisfied with the end results. I again hired her in 2021 and am so glad I did. Just like before I had a excellent experience with Amanda and all in her office. Things always were discussed thoroughly. Best and worst outcomes were always discussed so that I was able to make informed choices. Email and phone calls were always easy and I had no issues ever getting in touch or asking questions. Amanda and her staff always made sure I was prepped and ready for all court hearings. I would absolutely recommend Amanda again and again.

I retained Amanda Husted’s services in 2019 for a custody/domestic partnership dissolution case that involved a tremendous amount of complexity and conflict. Amanda took an honest and focused approach to my case and was able to reduce the level of conflict and anxiety immediately. I never questioned Amanda’s advocacy for my daughter or the preservation of our relationship, nor did I ever see anything that would indicate she was driven primarily by financial gain versus doing what was in our best interest. Although Amanda did have a very busy calendar, she was always available for consultation during key decision points and critical phases of the case (such as plan negotiations and trial prep). I could not have been happier with Amanda’s services and still consult with her prior to moving forward with any decisions that could have future implications.

Often times they forget to send links for court dates, constantly sending confusing letters about whether or not court is in person or by phone, if u can afford your own lawyer, you should do it. I have a rental property in Eugene that I wanted to sell, however my renters filed a lawsuit claiming that because they had occupied the house for 34 years the house is now their property. Alexandra Hilsher is the second attorney that I hired to represent me on the case, and she got more accomplished in the first 2 months then what my previous attorney with another law firm had not done in 20. She vigorously defended me against every attempt by the opposing attorney to get me to concede to my renter's claim. The case went to court and I received a judgement in my favor. Alexandra and Courtney Caimona are both resourceful, easy to work with and kept me updated on the case.

I was barely 5 minutes into a free consultation, she was extremely rude and insensitive. First of all, any one who feels the need for a family law attorney - is already under immense stress. For her to be as rude, inconsiderate and blatantly insensitive - was absolutely uncalled for. Interrupting me, telling me to get over it. When I finally told her that I thought it was not going to work with her tone of voice and the way she spoke to me - then she agreed and was insulting me. I had to hang up the phone. It was pretty disgusting

I retained Kathleen Mercer after a friend recommended her to me. And so glad I did. She has been my attorney for three years now! She worked hard long hours for me. She is an attorney who fights for what is right and doesn't give up if it gets tough. My case was very tedious and not at all easy. Kathleen worked with me, and not only represented me, but cared about the outcome and my family's future. She kept in good communication with me; often working late or within my schedule. She has a great ability to put into legal words how I felt, and fought for it, when I was unable to. I was explained to in detail every step of the way so that I would know what to expect. I recommend Kathleen as she is a very knowledgeable, experienced, and compassionate attorney.

I used Ms. Mercer for an attempted divorce. She was unable to answer questions. Refused to discuss anything other than what she chose. When she didn't like what was happening in the case, (even though I had no control over it) she immediately withdrew from my case. Now I cannot get another lawyer because they are all too concerned about what mess she has created. I am in worse condition now than before I started. Still married, and no one will help me because of her. However, she was still paid in full!

Barry runs the clock and runs up your bill while getting little to nothing done. He took 10 hours including multiple emails and conversations when a simple email saying "we agree - do this" would have sufficed. He was given specific instructions but chose to do something completely different than what we asked.

Mr. Davis is one of the best attorney's in the area and I did my homework. I read this last review and it sounds like someone who was told something they didn't like and had an ax to grind. Mr. Davis is absolutely knowledgeable and a superb litigator. I would recommend him highly.

I spoke to this man directly, after speaking to several other attorneys. He agreed to take my case. This is an unusual situation and the Veterans Stand for Standing Rock group agreed to pay for my attorney. They mailed a promissory note for the $3000 retainer that i was told was required. Meanwhile, Mr. Jacobs and his receptionist took a week's vacation each and say they never received this "note". The veterans group is sending me a copy of it via 2 day fed ex (should arrive tomorrow) and out of the blue the receptionist calls and says he's decided NOT to take my case. NO EXPLANATION. SHE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEAK TO MR. JACOBS. Thanks a lot. You're a real stand up kind of guy. Your word means absolutely nothing.

Billed for his mistakes. I contacted for a landlord/tenant issue was over charged for multiple mistakes and a job not completed. When I tried contacting with some questions & concerns my emails / phone calls weren’t returned. Felt like he was working for the tenant rather than for me the landlord, since he wanted to write the tenant another letter; working a deal where I’d let the tenant stay on my property for free for 3 months. I was trying to understand why he wanted to go that route rather than just going ahead with the eviction in court. I ended up terminating the relationship & was billed for being ignored. Bill was basically around $2200 for only serving the tenant a 10 day notice this did not include the summons/complaint which I filed on my own. Simply $2200 for a 10 day notice of nonpayment /non renewal of the lease.

I was Lisette's dog sitter and thought she was a nice person so I hired her to handle my very painful divorce. She was extremely slow to answer my phone messages which was extremely frustrating to me. She didn't get for me what I asked despite her reassurances and she never informed me that I could take my ex to court again if he didn't pay his obligations. My ex still owes me tens of thousands of dollars and I'll never be able to collect. I found out years later that I could have put a garnishment on his social security but it had to be done within 2 years of his non-payment. She never told me this. I sure could use that money! I live in the poor house and never have enough money to meet my needs! I don't even have cable!

I appreciated being treated with respect and like my case was just as important as clients that she represented that weren't court appointed. She is a very good choice for representation if you or someone you know needs legal advise. Thank you, Laurie Grishaber

Rebecca May is such an intelligent, spunky, and caring attorney! I have utilized her a few times over a couple of years and will again if need be, as well as I recommend her to others. She was very clear in law and the probabilities in choices present to me, as a client. Her sincerity and integrity are to be applauded in a world of money-hungry (usually) folks.

I hired Rebecca May and she never finished the job which I hired her to do. You can go to the Oregon State Bar website and read about the disciplinary action that was taken against her.

Dean is a great lawyer. He's been representing me for 12 years. He's honest and doesn't bill like guys in big law firms. His advice has always been solid and I trust him like I've never trusted any other attorney in the 40+ years I've been doing real estate business. Note that the guy who wrote a bad review was apparently being chased by a landlord who employed Kaufman, so for us landlords and lenders, Dean's the sort of guy you want on your side. FWIW, he's a U of O law school grad and has been in the community for over 40 years.

I am posting this review to share the facts relating to my experience with this attorney. After finding that my multimillionaire corrupt ex tenant, negligently caused approximately $100,000 in damage to my home in Florence, With this tenant being the first to occupy my home, and having an agreement signed by him where he is to return the home to pre move in condition and or pay to bring it to pre move in condition. With this in hand and the tenant being corrupt, untruthful and evasive, though being more than financially capable to pay for the the damage he caused, I hired the Law Offices of Brian Cox, (specifically Brian Cox as he is the single attorney there). Cox appears to have close to 30 years of experience and informed me that they specialize in landlord tenant issues specifically representing landlords. Cox charges for every minute of his time including consultation. I shared with Cox my rental agreement and hired him to send my ex tenant a demand letter. Tenant did not pay so I hired Cox to file a suit against my ex tenant. I am one who likes to keep on top of things, despite my earlier inquiry with Cox on filing date, Cox did not file the suit till over one year since my discovery of the damage. Cox filed a breach of contract claim citing my rental agreement. If I prevailed in any way under this claim I was to be able to collect my attorney fees in addition to the amount of my damages from the tenant. Since I was looking over his work I found two careless mistakes (besides the one that ruined my case) that Cox made in supplying evidence to the defense. After several months and thousands of dollars of attorney’s fees paid to Cox, the defense attorney informed Cox that he filed my claim past the statute of limitations (which was one year). Cox and his required insurer Oregon PLF (whose job is to protect Cox and their best interest is Cox and not the party that is damaged by Cox) Suggested that I amend my complaint to common law claims such as “waste, chattel etc” A path that would be being difficult in prevailing even if I prevailed I would not be able to collect my attorney fees from the defendant which by the end of that claim would probably be over $20,000. After consulting with at least three attorneys who each informed me that the probability of prevailing under common law claims (as suggested by Cox and the PLF) would be a novelty, not likely or very difficult. Meanwhile the defense attorney filed for a summary judgement mainly based on the statute of limitations issue. The most probable outcome of this is that I would lose the case (which I lost anyway due to Cox’s error) and would be required to pay all of the defendant’s attorney fees. I was left with no choice but to hire another attorney and mitigate the damages. I settled the case between my ex tenant with no money awarded to me in exchange for not having to pay his attorney fees. I then had to hire a third attorney, who specializes in malpractice to settle and collect from the PLF. In the end after paying attorney fees to Cox, and the malpractice attorney I did not even end up with getting half of my damages paid for. I asked Cox to refund me what I paid him which he did not answer. Also, for some illogical reason the PLF is not responsible to pay back attorney fees that I paid to the attorney who is guilty of malpractice. The legal system in the country is a joke, in the end it is the attorneys who win! (Cox still got paid for his careless incompetent “work”)You simply pay the attorney for their time regardless of outcome and if they make a gross error despite how good your initial case is you are still not made whole.

Brian Cox responded promptly to my inquiry, and was very clear on what he would need to assist us in deciding how to proceed with our case. And the response we received was from him directly - he didn't just pass us off to his assistant, which I appreciate! We plan to contact him when we are ready to proceed, and have been pleased with the communication thus far.
