Attorney Gerald is the perfect attorney for making sure your case is handled with care and precision.
He likes to have his information and evidence gathered thoroughly in order to obtain maximum efficiency.
He is a problem solver while also keeping a cool and level head. Very keen on details. He took the time to reassure me, as a client, that the situation would be subdued in the smoothest way possible. I had never been in any legal trouble in my life.
I was charged incorrectly with AWDW and in our first meeting he was able to quickly extract that my case was actually self defense and defense of others. Attorney Gerald made sure that the evidence of my case was heard clearly by the ADA and that the full picture was understood. Without the proper context the situation could have went to extreme levels that could have had permanent effects on my life and record overall.
Greatfully, my charges were dismissed in a controlled and timely manner . He did a fantastic job, especially during the confusion of a pandemic and I couldn't thank him enough for protecting my innocence in the way he did. I will never forget what was done for me.

Mr. Byrd is an excellent attorney. I was seeking legal counsel regarding having a felony conviction expunged off my record. I called several attorneys in the Cumberland County area, and Mr. Byrd was the only attorney who knew the North Carolina expungement laws had changed, what the new statue stated. He went above and beyond to assist me. Mr. Byrd took his time to explain the expungement process, he prepared the proper documentation, obtained the right forms, and did everything correct the first time. I really appreciate his level of professionalism, and attention to detail. Also, Mr. Byrd has great communication skills, and will always follow up with you to answer any additional questions you may have. Mr. Byrd has a great team working with him, and his office staff did a phenomenal job providing updates regarding the case. I must be honest, when I first pursued having my record expunged, I got discouraged. Every attorney I called stated they couldn’t help me. But I didn’t quit. I kept calling and speaking to different attorneys. Mr. Byrd was the last attorney I called, and he was the only one who knew the expungement statue had changed. I couldn’t have asked for a better, more professional experience; from beginning to end. Mr Byrd and his staff (Angela) were perfect! After dealing with another law office who gave me the run around for almost a month after paying in full, Mr. Byrd stepped in and got a citation and FTA I had taken care of with the best outcome possible in less than 48 hours. I had a few issues with payment towards the beginning of my charges but Mr. Byrd was extremely patient and understanding! He got me out of 4 serious racing charges that probably would of resulted in me losing my drivers license. It did take about a year and a half but it was honestly 100% worth it. It kind of confuses me when I read bad reviews about this lawyer like he was reading paperwork in a car, etc. etc. I think people need to realize that sometimes disorganization can occur when someone is first starting up a new business. He is not like this today. He works with a team of professionals and they all accomplish a lot. If you have ever observed ants building a hill, bees in a hive, or wasps on a mission you will know what I am talking about. His team is very productive. He is a good leader and a great communicator. As far as his prices "being too high," well that is what happens sometimes when starting a new business. Over time I'm sure his prices will have gone down and will go down more but until then he's like every other human being just trying to make ends meet. Lawyers are human beings too. We had a few of our ups and downs but honestly I was grateful to have hired a lawyer who tells the truth. I never got mad at him for telling me the truth. I only got mad when he assumed I didn't know the truth. Kind of like that phrase "Hey tell me something I don't know." I know I need help. Lots of people do. However, there are better ways to express your dissatisfaction with something than telling me something I already know and sending that email of your confrontation to everyone in the office. Maybe some of his staff can help him with learning how to word things better to clients. I feel like his staff have helped make him into the success he is today. Great work ethic combined with team work and excellent communication among him and his staff provide for a speedy job and you get your money's worth. He just needs to research better ways of communicating with clients and when something bothers him he needs to voice his discontent immediately versus holding it all in and letting it build up over time. When you hold things in and then explode it does not look good on you. It makes it look like you can't handle yourself. If you can't handle yourself because of emails how will you handle uncomfortable emotions in court? That's all I'm saying. I hope his team goes to court with him because, like everyone else, he needs help.

Hired Bryce to handle a child support termination. He did an amazing job of communicating directly with me via email (only talked to his staff to pay the bill). This is very rare! Most attorney’s barely talk to you and 90% of your communication goes through a paralegal.
In addition to be a great communicator, he did a great job of preparing and arguing the case which resulted in a victory. I’d hire him again; no question.

I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Mark Hearp and he is an angel!!! I couldn't sleep eat or rest at all the week before my court hearing, I stayed up all night, every night researching things about my case and pretty much freaking myself out more. I went into the office every single day before my hearing and bothered Mr. Hearp and his assistant with questions and all my concerns and they were more than willing to help me. I am so thankful I went to Beaver-Courie & had them with me every step of the way, without them I wouldn't have gotten my case dismissed and able to go back to my normal life. I am beyond thankful and grateful for Mr. Hearp's help, words cannot fully grasp the gratitude I have!

On February 16, 2018 around 7PM I hear a knock at the door. I answered the door and to my surprise, I see two Police Officers which are government officers. Once my ID was established, I was presented with a warrant for my arrest. Accused of (I'M-ASSAULT GOVT OFFICIAL/EMPLY) and this started thinking, How, Who, When and Where. Once all paperwork completed by the police officer at the (CCDC) Cumberland County Detention Center I was released with from the CCDC with a court date on March 08, 2018. I was not sure what I was going to do, represent myself or talk with an attorney. I gathered up all my paperwork, video from home security system and compiled what I thought was good to represent myself in court. The more I thought about it I researched all of Cumberland County for the best rated legal professional Law Firm and Lawyers. When I read all the great reviews about BEAVER/COURIE Law Firm I had a review with Mark L. Hearp on March 05, 2018 then requested he represent me as my attorney. Mark requested a little more information which I provided and informed me of the process he was going to use and the objective was to have the case dismissed. Mark entered the courtroom around 8:30am waved across the courtroom to let me know he was there for me and his strategy. Mark met with quite a few people on his legal team and interviewed the Police Officers I was accused of assaulting, gathered more information, then spoke with the district attorney presenting all the information and evidence he had gathered, learned from his interviews then he returned into the courtroom approximately 11am to inform me this case was dismissed an I was free to go. As I departed from the courtroom I express my gratitude and appreciation for his legal experience and was very proud of Mark Hearp. I made the terrible mistake of hiring this so-called "lawyer" at the costs of $10.000 (ten-thousand) dollars. He did absolutely nothing on my case but accepted and coerced me to accept this lop-sided, totally unfair so-called "plea deal". As a direct result of this "lawyer's" gross incompetence and negligence, I am now on probation for the next two years, forced to submit to random drug testing when I was not arrested nor charged for drugs and drugs played no part whatsoever in the incident that I was arrested for, have had my Driver's License revoked for the duration of this probation, forced to pay restitution and court costs, have to attend a mandatory Anger Management course, and had to spend two days in jail. To anyone reading this review, my advice is to NEVER retain this GREEDY, IMPOTENT, WEAK, INCOMPETENT, INEPT shyster. He will not fight for his client and will hang you out to dry.

James is one stop shopping. Reasonably priced, stop by his office and make the payment with credit card or cash and he handles everything else with the courthouse. No appearances, returns for payments, etc. He handles it all. That's true legal representation. He has handled many moving and non-moving violations for me and for my friends and family. My daughter got a speeding ticket that should have been considered as reckless driving (>30 mph). What should have been 6 to 8 points on the insurance with a 130%-180% increase in insurance got reduced to 1 point. He even gave her a huge break on price despite my suggestion to charge what most other lawyers would charge for this type of violation as a life lesson. He literally saved me $1000s per year on insurance costs. Worth every dime. 15 more to go.

Lee represented me for a family case that spanned multiple years and he remained professional and understanding the entire time. Not being dramatic, he knows his case law and even broke out a law book to show word for word what it says when doubted during a hearing. I even had someone in court ask me for his contact information when they saw how professional and intelligent he handled himself. Lee is honest and will tell you the best advice, even when you might not want to hear it and when you let him know you are uncomfortable with something, he honors your wishes as well.

Bruce Armstrong is hands down the BEST lawyer/legal professional I have ever dealt with. He takes a personal vested interest in every case he deals with and established a great client relationship immediately. He was able to break everything down for me very plain and simple and promised me he would work as hard as he could to minimize the charges I faced. I faced some pretty heavy charges, so I never thought he would be able to get them all dropped, but sure enough, he did just that. I was traveling through Fayetteville, NC for work and received an outstanding traffic ticket, coupled with aggressive/reckless driving and driving to endangerment. I was faced with loosing my license and was so terrified and stressed out I did not know what to do. I called around to a few different lawyers that had the best online reviews, and each one of them was going to charge me over $800 for a starting fee and the receptionist wouldn't even let me speak to the actual layer himself. Additionally, they basically told me those types of charges are near impossible to have dropped and so I was most likely going to have to pay hundreds of dollars more for various fines. A friend recommended Bruce Armstrong to me, and so I called his office and immediately noticed a difference. Right off the bat, his receptionist was super friendly and understanding; She listened to my entire story and took down as much detail as possible. Then, she told me that Mr. Armstrong would call me right back, and sure enough, less than 2 hours later I received a call back from Mr. Armstrong himself. He spent time getting to know me, my background, where I came from, what happened, why it happened, and then walked me through a sort of game plan he was thinking of. He did not blow any smoke and was completely transparent and honest the entire time. His fee was over 50% less than other lawyers in the area, yet the service he provided was 100 times greater. I am SO thankful for finding Bruce Armstrong, and would not go with anyone else in the future.

When Mr. Roberts was still with the Legal Aid, I was referred to him by the county because I became the victim was a very serious DV/criminal case. I honestly did not expect too much from a legal aid attorney from the stories I've heard, however he did not only work so hard, but he has given me so much emotional support while being extremely professional and he fought very hard against this awful judicial system that seems to be built around the criminals not the victims.
