Never returns phone calls. Never let me know what was happening. Had one question after talking to get and twenty more. All she did the whole time when she was in court was text on her phone or leave me alone in the court room to make personal calls. I ask to switch to another legal aid attorney in the department and saw such a complete difference. So happy I left Jenna Suppon and went to another attorney.

Sharman represented me in a family law matter and was incredibly opinionated and unprofessional. Heard more about her personal critique of my character before court than the situation she was there for. Felt like she was representing my Ex and not myself. I resent ever having dealt with this person. Clearly she did not want to be there and clearly made her judgement of me well known.

When I was being investigated by at least two prosecuting agencies, I immediately contacted and hired Sharman. She guided me through the process, and allowed me to have my sanity when I felt that everything was crashing down. She gave me the peace of mind to know that my case was being defended in the best way possible. If you are ever charged with a crime, or are being investigated for a potential one, then you will know exactly what I mean. Sharman is highly skilled, but most importantly, trustworthy.

Do not retain this attorney he is extremely predatory and just wants your money. He will put little to no effort representing you. I retained him for an aggravated DWI in nassau county unfortunately he was at the arraignment and my parents didn’t know if he was good/or not so they chose him and paid him $500.00 to represent me as a first time offender I didn’t know about doing research on picking the right attorney for a DWI case so I decided to go with him. He never updated me once on what was going on with my case besides me calling him before my court dates, he never told me anything that was happening behind the scenes if there were any negotiations going on with the DA. He just sat and attended my court dates that was it. Later throughout the case he decided to charge me an additional $250.00 telling me his secretary made a mistake when I put him on the spot saying I already paid you your full retainer. PLEASE PLEASE if you find yourself receiving a DWI stay away from this predator. He has absolutely no experience in DWI defense, he’s pretty much just going to show up and give him attendance, say a few sentences to the judge and that’ll be that. You’ll stay wondering if anything will be done. I got convicted on the top charge. This attorney Didn’t do anything to reduce when in every case scenario this charge can be reduced to a standard with low penalties. If you need to retain a “DWI” lawyer google DWI lawyers. This man just handles little baby traffic tickets. I’m so annoyed that I paid him $3,000 to walk me in court and get me annihilated from every angle. AGAIN after calling several other attorneys they all said this man does NOT have a good reputation in court. Smh I’ll get through this shitty time, but just reminding future clients please by the grace of god stay away from this man. He’s only surviving because he’s across the street from the court house, so people that get put end up going to him with no experience on what he can really do. He’ll give you what you want to hear so you end up retaining him. STAY AWAY!

Theresa Rho has provided legal services to my present clients as well as clients with a previous firm since 1996. The scope of services has been court appearances for conferences and calendar parts as well as discovery with limited trial services. Over the course of her provision of professional services, I know my clients will be represented by a caring professional attorney that has practiced for both plaintiffs and defendants. In one case, a trial Justice of the Supreme Court specifically told me how competent she was in helping our firm in reaching a settlement agreement in a very complex case that had non-standard issues of both fact and law that required a true professional to help reach an amicable resolution

I was referred to Cindy by a friend. I retained her for a custody/ relocation case. I was dating someone who was extremely wealthy at the time and gave me the $10k for the retainer. She went through the retainer in 2 months and quickly accrued $29k. The courts hated me. She told me I was going to lose custody and will have to move back to ny from Texas. I asked her to drug test my ex which she said I couldn’t afford. My best friend handed over her Cc. The only reason I won was because he failed. She didn’t do anything besides cause me anxiety and stress. I would NEVER recommend her.

My very humble opinion and I believe the following: Most of my claims I have proof of. Cindy a. Prusinowski Esqs. 64 Hilton Ave, Hempstead, NY 11550 (516) 307-1940 One of the worst attorneys I ever hired. As the another reviewer states SHE GETS NOTHING ACCOMPLISHED and is constantly yelling. Which is what I experienced. I would NEVERRRRR recommend anybody have this as their representation. She was a total waste of time and $$$. She I believe abusively loud obnoxious, belittling, makes many comments including“I don’t give a sh*t” when I was explaining to her my case and ETC. I paid her $250 per hour I guess like the old saying goes you get what you pay for. She has 40 years of practice with only a few reviews and a surprisingly amount of negative reviews speaks volumes. I highly recommend people L@@K at read her negative reviews. She is very abusively loud and Obnoxious at one point  I had to say why are you yelling. She abusively curses like a truck drivers mouth and calling her adversary a pr*ck,***,etc. I will be filing complaints with government agencies and negative reviews. I filed complaints with the New York State grievance committee, attorney grievance committee, Appellate division of the New York State Supreme Court, the New York State Attorney General‘s office, NYS governor office, law firm for legal shield who referred me to her, etc. I believe she should be disbarred. The so called over site is Attorneys handling complaints against other attorneys probably why I believe there’s nepotism. I could say sooooooo much more about my experience.

Mr. Hirsch did not provide adequate services for any of our requests. He did not work toward his client's best interests. His experience does not confirm his abilities. We certainly would not recommend him to others.

I received a letter after my DWI arrest from several attorney's. Of the several letters I received I made the mistake of choosing Mitchell from Hirsch & Hirsh without ever consulting any other attorney. He may be a good real Estate attorney, But business must be slow so he looked to expand into DWI. It is clear he does not have the skills to represent DWI cases. Choose another attorney, you will not be happy with his performance. Nassau is tough enough with an A+ attorney.

I hired Mitchell Hirsch after being charged with a DWI in Nassau County, late in 2012. Having no prior offenses, or for that matter, no prior experience whatsoever with the judicial system, I relied heavily on Mr. Hirsch's council. On his recommendation, I accepted a plea bargain in which my license was revoked for 6 months; I was fined - quite a lot - and was sentenced to 3 years probation. The day I accepted the deal, Mr. Hirsch pulled me aside and assured me, the length of the probation, he said, would, really only amount to 6 months. "With good behavior they'll let you off in no time," he promised. I've been on probation now for 265 days and counting, and I've been good. The first time I met my probation officer, she laughed and said there's no such thing as "good behavior", I'd be seeing her, every week, for the 3 years. I was naive. I put my faith in Mr. Hirsch. I'm also required attend what's called a step-DWI program, a grade school-like class, 2 nights a week for 6 months - to learn scary facts about alcohol. What I've learned is that my sentence was really, really, really, harsh. Especially compared with my fellow drunk-driving classmates. I'm the only one - out of 20 - on probation. The class includes 2nd, even 3rd-time offenders, some crashed cars, some ran from the police, yet all of them are probation-free. Fines, classes, that's it. (I was pulled over for driving "too slow", 25 mph, around 4am, on the Long Island Expressway). Being on probation, I'm drug tested weekly, my P.O. officer randomly visits my apartment, plus I can't leave the state of NY without her permission, (which she refuses to give), again --- for 3 years. (the max for a 1st time offender) I've lost a whole lot of freedom and I feel like some kind of ex-con... who got conned by Mitchell Hirsch. Looking back, I'll always regret taking his advice, or really just hiring him in the first place. I was offered a raw deal and advised to take it. My advice to you: find a another lawyer.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
