Grant has done a great job handling my divorce over the now two years that it has been going. He is intelligent and direct. He also knows the Hillsboro legal community, which is a great plus.
I give Grant my highest recommendation.
The rest of this review is just general advice on divorce with some comments as they relate to Grant...the stuff I wish someone had told me.
1) Things will go bad in the divorce. I don't care what you are saying to yourself right now. They will go bad. I promise. Get a lawyer right now if you can afford it.
2) Remember that lawyers get paid by the hour. Don't waste time telling them how much of a jerk your spouse is. They know. Just treat it like a business contract that went bad. The more emotional you are the worse the mistakes you are going to make. All that stuff is better done in mediation.
3) Get self counseling. I know that you believe that your spouse is the one with the problem. You are likely correct. But there are still insights that you can gain. Do you know why you picked the person you did? Do you know what you don't want in the future? Do you know what's best in terms of parenting time and your behavior around your ex? Maybe you do, but this is another thing I can only promise will help you.
4) Don't argue with your lawyer. You are probably wrong and they are probably right. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't question things you don't understand and also "trust but verify". Still, you are not, whether you know it or not, in the best mental condition. Grant, as well as any good lawyer has a much better perspective on the case than you do. Help them.
5) If you have assets over, let's say 50K, buy yourself an accountant. Believe me. They are very cheap compared to the expense every time the lawyer on the other side is confused. Grant is pretty good at accounting. However, don't assume that lawyers know anything about finances. The accountant can also talk in terms that your lawyer understands and can clarify much better than you can. They can also testify, if need be, to explain things to the judge.
6) Your lawyer is on your side. If he says something you don't like, well maybe its something you need to hear. Talk with him and treat him as if you are a team working for a common cause.
7) Always be the "good guy". Treat everyone with respect, be honest with the other side including admitting when you make a mistake. The process understands that no one is perfect. If you show you are trying your best to be fair and civil you will really do much better.
8) Oh, one last thing: Don't worry about how much a lawyer charges per hour. Why not? Well frankly you will rack up thousands of dollars in legal costs except for the most trivial of divorce. So, let's say you have a great lawyer that charges $250/hour and the crappiest one who was at the bottom of his class charges you $150. Yes, that's a big difference, but you get what you pay for. Seriously, not all lawyers are good...some are down-right crappy. So don't pick one only based on price.
9) Whoops, one final thing: Pay your lawyer NO MATTER WHAT. Money will be tight, but the last thing you want is for your lawyer to be worried if he is going to get paid or not. Imagine wondering if you will get paid at your job every week...a real demotivator! Work out what you need to do..talk to them if you can't pay, but always pay.
Good luck. It is a long road, but it does get better and there is an end.

I have had 3 different needs for an attorney, and Grant was able to help me with all three. I was able to meet with him in the Beaverton satellite office, which was much more convenient for me. I was also able to get an appointment in a timely manner. He is easy to talk to and non-judgmental. I would definitely use his services again should the need arise, and would recommend him to others.

Erin's firm handled the probate for my brother's estate. She took on a difficult estate with mountains of debt, one which I thought would be insolvent, and through skill and negotiation was able to secure a sizable inheritance for my brother's two children. The best possible outcome. Throughout the process she and her excellent team were in constant communication with me, informing me of every step, answering my many questions, and dealing with numerous other issues well beyond my grasp. He is an amazing man! I was so blessed to have him as my attorney.He was not scared of my case at all he was ready to take it n and protect my son and my family.He was there for me in every way of my custody battle. Roger was the biggest reason I was able to stay sane while in jail for a month after my own family called the police on me. He constantly reassured me, while acknowledging that the process moves too slowly for real justice. He made me feel like even if I had to spend all month in jail over some absolute nonsense like I did, everything would eventually be okay. He took what was a terrifying legal situation, and just a horrible situation for my life, and made it seem like the solutions would be simple. Perhaps most importantly, he joked and laughed with me about the injustice we were facing.
He worked tirelessly to help me with no thought of what the reward would be, calling dozens of mental health institutions to try and find me a place to stay since the court had done everything they could to tear me away from my family.
What strikes me most about Roger in hindsight was his humility. Talking to him quickly began to feel like talking to an old friend. He treated me with absolute respect and never tried to impress me with his resume, which I now realize is... impressive to say the least. It's clear that his work in Guam, Seattle and everywhere he has been in his life has given him perspective and an open mind.
I might be dead or worse today without the help of Roger Wong. He met me where I was at one of the lowest points in my life. As much as the system will try to dehumanize us all, it's people like Roger that remind me that no matter how much your heart is broken, no one can ever take it away from you.
My mother has a story she likes to tell about one of her first days in college: she was looking for a professor named Mr. Wright. She approached the first man she saw at the building where his office was supposed to be and asked, "Excuse me, are you Mr. Wright?"
And he said, "No, I'm Mr. Wong."
She thinks, bless her heart, that this story is hilarious. I know a little better.
Sometimes, Mr. Wong is Mr. Right!!!

I was referred to Ralph about an auto accident claim from another professional. Ralph took a number of weeks to respond to my initial contact and asked that I send him over all the information from my case. After receiving this he told me he'd get back to me by the end of the week.
4 weeks later he left me a VM saying he couldn't take my case. He asked that I call him back so we could talk about it a bit more and I tried calling and e-mailing to get a hold of him and he completely ghosted me and never responded again. I work in the professional services industry and this is a huge RED FLAG and terrible professionalism. I caution anyone looking for an attorney to avoid engaging his services and find a professional who will actually communicate like one.

Be careful! They gather all of my personal and sensitive information and said they will take my case then after all the work and calls and time I spend talking to them, Maria the paralegal email me saying they wont represent me!
They made me waste tons of time and effort and on top sharing me and my daughter's info its not safe and ok. Do not recommend their services please be aware of the lack of commitment and very irresponsable way, if they act this way before they start cant imagine how its going to be during the process!

Ryan is literally the worst Attorney I have ever delt with. He lied to me multiple times. He threatened to resign if I did not agree to the horrible stripped down parenting plan that he negtotiated behind my back. Anytime throughout the case If i did not do exactly what he "advised" me to do, he threatened to resign. He did this the day before my trial, which I have since learned is extremely unethical on his part. I didn't know 24 hours before my trial that I could dismiss him and seek new and effective Counsel. Ryan rushed through my case in Court and did nothing to adress all the false and nasty claims by my Ex and her Attorney. Ryan absoutley guaranteed me that I would not have to pay child support. He did this in his office the morning of the trial with my 28 year old Son standing right next to me. When I reminded Ryan of this he said that I was remembering things wrong. He made multiple excuses for his terrible performance and even blamed the result on me. I offered to provide him with my full medical file from my surgeon outlining and detailing the horrific back injury I suffered and the surgeries had to help me walk again. Multiple times (including emails from Ryan) he assured me that the Notes written by my Chiropractor were more than sufficiant and I quote Ryan here "He is a Medical Dr. His word absolutely checks the box". The damage Ryan caused me is lifelong. I was the stay at home parent to 6 children why I supported my Wifes Military career. I am now almost 51 years old and because Ryan only cared about goin on his vacation the day after my Trial, I get 1,100 a month transitional Support for 2 years only. This on my Ex Wife's $9000 a month income. Ryan was completely ineffective during the trial. He had zero rebuttle for countless false allegations and nasty remarks directed at me. Stay away from this guy. He is a terrible Attorney who does not care about you. I should have fired him before the trial but I honestly didn't know I had that option. I could sit here for hours and detail all the underhanded and false things Ryan said and did througought my Divorce and Trial. I can't wait to see the nonsense he responds here with. OH WOW. YAY!! Well congratulations Tyler Beach.... On this crazy jury trial win. Where do I even start? Well first off I want to thank Tyler and his respected team thank you so much for proving the system they were wrong it was and has been such a bittersweet moment but as far as for what Tyler did for me goes beyond what you were asked of I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. My Babies have their Daddy home. When I first brought this case to Tyler's attention we weren't sure if there would be a case opened and we had, had the evidence of innocence for myself as I was the client with the most known criminal history from the past at the time. so long story short a secret indictment came in and then Tyler instantly went to work on providing the evidence of my innocence which was the video. From there Tyler pushed through the motions tried to move for them to be dropped mind you this was an attempt murder 2nd and assault 1 unlawful use of weapon. 2 measure 11 and the 3rd believe class c felony. Mandatory minimum looking at well over 25 years I commend Tyler for pushing through the investigation mind you I was his client before the fire and we went through to trial almost 2 1/2 years later and Tyler did his due diligence in the court room mind you this was a three co defendent case that we were fighting for each other not against each other. This was a self defense case as he was the aggressor Tyler proved me his client was innocent countless times on openings during questioning and while I was on the stand all the way through close and all the through the court hallways knowing I was innocent and at verdict Tyler was respectful of my family mind you one co defendant is my brother and was robbed on a guilty verdict due to corruption of the courts. And we received an acquittal. Thank you Tyler for not show boating in front of them you showed me how much heart you had for us thank you again and can't thank you enough. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AS WELL THEY HAVE A GOOD MAN IN THEIR LIFE. I would give you a gazillion stars and more if I could.
