I got a ticket and decided to go to court to fight it. Fortunately I had Chuck as my lawyer, Chuck did research and pointed out to the judge that the law required two steps to make a violation and only one existed. He's incredibly well-informed on Estate Planning matters, thorough beyond any expectation I had, and did a great job on our comprehensive package which included a Living Trust, two Pour-Over Wills, two Advance Healthcare Directives, two Powers of Attorney, and a new Deed/Title of our home.
Sure, you can find cheaper attorneys in the area, but if you want the best, Ethan is it. Don't let the initial slightly cool and aloof manner put you off. If you are going through a high conflict case, please do yourself a favor and do not hire this attorney. She will not fight hard for you. Rather, if the odds are not in your favor, she will just take an L and try to negotiate that L.
That’s basically what she did with me. She even admitted to me that “when the facts are not in my client’s favor, I will try to negotiate an agreement that is better than the court will order.”
In other words, she will SURRENDER and negotiate the terms of the surrender. What is the point of that?!! I can do that myself. If I wanted to surrender, I wouldn’t be looking for an attorney to fight for me.
I had a very high conflict case where the other attorney fought very hard for her client. She asked for things that were politically incorrect. Such as removing custodial time from me, removing presumed father status, and asking for sole custody for her client, amongst other things.
When it came time for my attorney to ask the court to object her move away, so that my ex doesn’t take my son with her, this attorney was 100% USELESS. She started settling everything outside the courtroom in favor of my ex ultimately getting her move away.
She even told the court that the parents have come to an agreement, which was a big fat lie. It was the attorneys that came to an agreement, not the parents. And that was because this so called attorney does not have the PERSEVERANCE to fight in court .
To this day, I CRINGEEE just thinking about the whole experience. I just hope that no one else has to go through what I went through and be scammed out of their hard earned money.
I confronted her about the whole situation and the fact that she ended up talking me into agreeing to something I did not want to agree to. And she had the audacity to say that I would’ve been granted less time and that I cannot rewrite history. It’s not up to you, it’s up to the court to decide her move away or not. Your job as an attorney is to object it. But if you are not equipped enough to fight in court then maybe you should just not participate in high conflict cases.
Her attorney never came and settled with any of my attorneys. She fought tooth and nail even when it was not in her favor to remove custody and parentage from me.
I don’t understand why Ms. Perkins partnered up with her. Perkins is 100x better than her and is not afraid to object or fight in court.
There was a point when we were sitting down and Payne specifically read over a line that read “parents shall not use corporal punishment towards the child,” paused, looked at me dead in the eyes for like 5 seconds. It was a very ACCUSATORY stare. Almost like she was accusing me of using or intending to use corporal punishment against my son. She was obviously NOT on my side and was obviously believing the false allegations that my ex made against me. Very disgusting.
When I spoke to her over the phone she cut me short after like 2 min and said she needs to go because she needs to pick up her son. So why even answer if you’re busy?
There’s attorneys that fight hard for their clients and there’s attorneys that don’t give their heart out and are simply there to collect some money and take easy Mickey Mouse routes. This attorney unfortunately falls under the second batch.
To sum up, this attorney doesn’t respect you as a person or as a client.
Please, if you have a high conflict case, save yourself lots of stress and headaches and just look for a different attorney that will actually respect you and fight for you.

I called Shannon's office last week, regarding complex, atypical, domestic violence issues, with an individual located in Los Angeles. Shannon was recommended by lawyer Kelly Chang. Shannon personally, returned my call the next day. I have been searching for legal help for over 3 years. Shannon is the first lawyer to substantially help me. I wish I could have her as my attorney! Unfortunately, Shannon informed me, I would need to find an attorney in NY- where I reside. Shannon listened to my story for two hours- free of charge- even though she knew, I would not be able to hire her!! Shannon displayed exceptional compassion, and kindness- while advising me re: the best course ahead. Shannon is the first person, to take time to listen carefully, and give me hope for the future. Her youth proved advantageous, in understanding technological aspects of my case. Ms.Payne is the best attorney I've ever worked with. I was dealing with a custody case that wasn't only about custody but about protecting myself and child from abuse during exchanges and allowing me to have employment without the other parents interference due to spite. The other parents attorney had no issue slandering me and appeared to allow her client to fabricate whatever they perceived helped their case. Ms.Payne was very ethical, but tactical and found very substantial, truthful evidence that showed the other parent to be not credible in their false claims. She also listened to me when I told her specific items that were important for my child's best interest and she passionately but respectfully got the court to rule in my favor. Ms. Payne works hard and thorough with minimal drama, she handles narcissistic and Cluster-B personality types with a poised, firm, diplomatic approach that is less argumentative and more about finding a solution while protecting her client and their position.

My name is Armando Zatarain and I am a private investigator. I worked with Mr.Stoddard for the first time approximately ten years ago. It was a multi-million dollar fraud case and our client was charged with multiple felonies. The client was accused of being the ring leader in an international scheme that resulted in a $20,000,000 loss to major insurance companies. Chuck worked diligently for over a year and was successful in getting the case reduced to a misdemeanor and no jail time. I have worked many other cases with Chuck almost all of them have had good or great results. He is an extremely intelligent man, but he is also very kind and considerate. His clients are usually as impressed with how nice he is as well as how well he handles their cases. He has done more than his share of work for clients that needed him, but could not afford him. His clients constantly refer other people in need to him without fear or reservation. I do the same.
Chuck's experience and his keen insight led him on one occasion to discover that the police had searched a car without proper authority. I had read the same report and missed that important point. The DA was faced with dismissal of the case or giving the client a greatly reduced sentence and credit time served. He chose the latter rather than lose the motion. On another occasion a client was charged with molesting his step daughter. No physical evidence was found; only the testimony of the juvenile who did not like the step dad because he was a strict disciplinarian. We went over the case time and time again. The client insisted on going to trial although it was the victim's word against the client and she had already testified like an expert at prelim. Chuck found inconsistencies in her testimony during trial and exploited them. The client was facing 18 years in prison and lifetime registration for a crime he had not committed. The client was found not guilty at trial. A man was charged with felony hit and run. He was facing multiple years in prison. He had been held for four months pending trial; Chuck got the entire case dismissed literally on the eve of trial because the police had arrested the wrong man.
I will stop here. If you need a great lawyer who is also a nice, kind and honest man I highly recommend that you consult with Charles Stoddard.

I have (for better of worse) had the need to engage a handful of attorneys over the years, and without a doubt, I will attest to the fact that Chuck Stoddard would be my de facto go to guy going forward...unless of course it was outside the scope of his expertise...in which case he reffered a friend of mine to another high caliber lawyer.
Chuck (unlike some others) is not just about the money, he is truly campassionate...perhaps with an extra dash of vigor in my case since such case is baseless....he is extreemely knowledgable and a stand up guy.

I hired Barbara to handle my divorce for me. She talked a big game but her performance was less than stellar. She seemed distracted and never understood the details of my case. I asked her a few question about delays in filing the proper forms with the court. After questioning her, she became aloof and argumentative. In the end, she charged me a lot of money and did very little.

I chose Attorney Jackson because of the Jackson 5 and that they were born in Gary, Indiana. I am a CNA and my work industry is caregiving. My employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant at an assisted living facility for seniors is rewarding.. You must have the heart, patience, and drive to work with anyone from pediatrics to geriatrics because we all will be in need of care someday in your life. That one day changed when on January 31, 2022 I suffered from a work injury that required workers compensation doctors, physical therapy, and counseling; however, my belief in God is first and foremost. Attorney Jackson was helpful in me seeing an orthopedic doctor and a podiatrist for my case because I too had pre existing health conditions that exacerbated my OA ankle work injury. Along with Crohn's disease a.k.a. IBD or irritable bowel disease, my over 7500 page medical history another case developed that qualified me for the State of California Subsequent Injury Trust Benefits Fund. I have never heard of the be SITBF prior to hiring Mr. Jackson. The SITBF that will compensate you for pre existing health conditions. I had three of them which exacerbated my current work injury. Not only did I receive weekly financial workers compensation from the former employer, I also received a WC lump sum settlement in 2023. My pre existing health conditions qualified me also for the SITBF. In 2024, the SITBF surprisingly paid a retroactive lump sum. Additionally the SITBF funding will pay me for the rest of my life. My case took over two years and be patient because health is your wealth. It can be frustrating when you don't hear from your attorney and not knowing the status of your case; however, the attorneys are not the judges that can either approve or deny a WC and SITBF claim. The journey takes time and you are not alone in it even though you may feel that way. Thank you both to Gary, Derek, and all the staff for your assistance. What a God send all of you are. My case taught me invaluable lessons.

I reached out to Jackson and Jackson today, almost not expecting a reply because of the insignificance of the claim involved, only to have Mr. Gary Jackson himself call me back within minutes to advise me on how I could handle the claim myself. Mr. Jackson not only took the time to educate me on the process involved in submitting my claim, but clarified several points on which I had been misinformed and misled in my conversations with Worker's Compensation. He also informed me that, to my surprise, I was actually entitled to a fixed settlement amount in addition to the bare minimum I had been led to believe I could collect. I am certain I never would have learned of this on my own.
I am beyond grateful for Mr. Jackson's invaluable counsel, but I find the kindness and respect with which he treated me, knowing he would not be representing me, simply overwhelming. Mr. Gary Jackson is the absolute best in my book, and I highly recommend his firm.

Elizabeth represented me in my contested divorce more than 10 years ago and renewed my faith in attorneys. We didn't hv any assets to fight about and my ex was fighting for the sake of fighting and hired some scum attorneys, whom he paid with our joint account money which were in dispute for that matter, they wrote about splitting assets such as rubber bands and such, it was a disgrace. I am currently working with Elizabeth. She was recommended to me by my marriage counselor. Unfortunately things did not work out there and we ended up working with Elizabeth.
I recommended her to a friend in the beginning. That friend later questioned why i recommended her. Now i am encountering the same concerns he had. I should have known better to recommend someone i had little experience with to date.
I expected a mediator who would lay out the facts accurately. Be fair, knowledgeable and responsive, and help us negotiate a reasonable final outcome.
After several meetings with Elizabeth i learned from a friend about the Morse Marsden rule. Elizabeth had never shared this rule with us. In my case this makes a substantial difference in my financial outcome. I’m already dealing with onerous asset splits and alimony expense, at least relative to me. So this is when I firstcame to question whether Elizabeth was truly fair. Nevertheless, I was willing to look past this in an effort to reach a reasonable settlement. In fact, I was willing to leave out this calculation for now.
Next, we learned she went on vacation for 6 weeks while we were hoping to finalize our divorce. Everyone is entitled to their vacation. And I'm sure Elizabeth's job is very taxing. So we were certainly understanding.
Then following her vacation we were informed that in order to complete the status-only filing for divorce she needed to receive back a Notice and Acknowledgment of Receipt form from my employer. Although, she forgot i no longer worked for that company so she sent it to my previous employer's address. 45 days later she informed me she never heard back. So she had to send it again. Ok, mistakes happen. We can forgive and move on...
Now it is into the new year. Costs continue to rise with Elizabeth as i'm trying to pay temporary alimony and child support with little left to cover my expenses. Now we're told that the procedure to get a stipulation status-only judgement through is "a little bit more complicated in that it requires the filing of a noticed motion". So therefore, my costs and time.
Then there was a problem with Elizabeth’s notary license. I won't go into that... But it boils down to even more delays and challenges.
Now I'm trying to deal with getting everything finalized once and for all. It’s an exhausting process. I’m sure hoping there are no further “technical difficulties” in getting this done. Elizabeth has run my final dissomaster numbers and they got worse... She forgot that she’s already been told that we no longer have child care costs since she is now in public school and no longer goes to Montessori school. She also is leaving it to me to “work it out” with my soon-to-be-ex on how we’ll handle the fact that I pay for alimony and child support and she also lives in a house for free that I pay half the mortgage on, but don’t live in. I’ve read that in such situations I should get credit for such a thing. But Elizabeth won’t say anything about it. She picks and chooses the topics to respond to...
I could go on and on about my challenges with Elizabeth. My guess is that she has lots of clients and can barely give the proper attention to any of them. I’m sure it is a very stressful job. And I’m sure she deals with lots of unreasonable people. But to sum up my experience, I definitely do not feel she was fair with me. She takes a long time to respond, which is very difficult when you are faced with trying to figure out how you will make ends meet and can’t sleep as a result. And she either isn’t very knowledgeable or she simply decides things like Morse Marsden aren’t worth mentioning.
In general, my experience has not been good. I could not recommend Elizabeth to anyone else.

There are no words that can explain how well this magnificent woman handled my guardianship case. Jennifer was handed an extremely difficult case in which the odds were completely stacked against me. I hired Jen four years ago to represent me in what was turning out to be a VERY nasty divorce. I didn’t know at the time but it was the best decision I have ever made. Jen not only handled my case professionally but she went above and beyond, paying attention to every detail. My previous lawyer dropped my case due to my financial obligation in the middle of Trial. I consulted with Mr. Gold for my divorce case and he was able to work with me on a reasonable fee. Considering my case was up for Trial in 2 weeks, I was shocked he took my case last minute. The day of Trial, he and his paralegal made me feel at ease and put some personal attention to my case. I called him for a consultation just before Christmas weekend. I let him know that I would call him if I wanted to schedule an appointment. After the long weekend he sent me multiple texts insulting me about the problem I had asked him about and then proceeded to threaten me for not hiring him as my lawyer. When consulting me he was very unprofessional and even asked if I had a friend I can pin it on.
Do not hire him!!! I'm glad I didn't! He is a very sketchy man. Very unprofessional. Very rude. You can tell he just wants your money.

I was on probation with my DUI case and foolishly drove under a suspended license. I am young and cannot afford a lawyer, but afraid to appear in court alone. I met with Mr. Jeffrey Gold and he gave me free consultation. I told him immediately, I don't have much money to work with here but would appreciate any advise you can give me. He went through my paperwork and said you need to do blah blah...and come back to me before your court date, I will help you. I was shocked he took his time to review my case without asking a dime. I came back to him 2 days before my court date and he still remembers me. He kept his word and appeared in court with me and only charge me for his time in court. The Judge greeted Mr. Gold as if she knew him, so my tension calmed a bit. In the end, I was so lucky I was given only 14 hours of community service. I swear i thought I was going to jail.

Willam Haywood sometime ago has rented a room from my 95-year-old grandma. We did not know it at the time, but William is a drunk that likes to get overly intoxicated and become belligerent with the caregivers that live in the home to take care of my 95 year-old grandma, since the time that he has been there, it has been an ongoing fight from broken windows to him going in and out all hours of the night slamming doors, keeping people awake and refusing to pay rent during the Covid pandemic. Bill sat in my grandmother's home for over a year and refused to pay rent and hide behind the system and he claims to be a man. He owes money to everyone and if you do your own research on Google, you will see that he has multiple liens against him for taxes, and some of his license are actually inactive due to lack of payment, which it will tell you on the Google search. Unfortunately, it would not allow me to attach a photo. He is currently in the process of hiding his vehicle due to being worried that it's going to be taken from the IRS for back taxes he is not a good person at all, and is all I can say to anyone that might hopefully read this review. Please do your research before hiring this person, thank you all and have a great day.

I had to make a few calls to find a lawyer who takes my civil case. While Bill doesn't work on the type of case I was seeking help for either, he was, after 6-7 calls, the only one that actually spent a few minutes to hear about my case so he could guide me the right way, and he did! He seems very knowledgable. We had a nice chat and I asked him for a link to his review page so I could leave him a review after he was so kind enough to help me, despite knowing my case doesn't make him a dollar. Every call before him took 10 seconds and I was told "sorry, we dont take these cases". no time wasted! Bye!
Many lawyers are motivated by the financial part of their job only. Few lawyers actually care about helping, and Bill is one of them. I highly recommend him, and if I need help in the future, I know who to call. Again, thanks Bill!!!

I hired Bill off of a craig's list ad claiming he could send a demand letter for $150.00
After insisting upon upfront payment ONLY in a money order (a bit suspicious) he began dragging his feet for weeks. It should have been a simple letter probably less than 1/2 hour of work - my demands were clear and obvious
Instead he actually had the gall to write that I was "the least of his priorities right now" and that he simply had better things to do.
I understand attorney's are busy and tried to be patient but my landlord/tenant issue was time sensitive. After waiting weeks I insisted he either send something in writing or simply return the materials to me.
Then came quite a few angry emails that were, quite frankly, absolutely juvenile. It's hard to believe this person is a lawyer. I have filed an official complaint with Calbar.org. Would definitely not recomment this attorney.
