It was quite a journey doing this application given the complications we had. But we did great due to the assistance of a well experienced lawyer such as Atty. Raymond Lo. We were guided accordingly on how to best deal with certain circumstances that caused delays and pending decisions before we got (for us) is the sweetest approval.

Words do no justice for the outstanding service and professionalism I experienced being represented by Michael Shulman. Some background: I was found with a small, 500 MG weed cartridge for my vape pen and was subsequently arrested in NJ. I was given the option for a public defender but decided against it after speaking with some friends who are attorneys. I found my way to Michael Shulman through word of mouth, and I could not have chosen better representation.
Michael is thorough, quick to respond to emails (I rarely waited longer than 10 minutes) and answers all questions without hesitation. He has a clear grasp of the law and criminal defense and provides you with all your options. His prices are VERY fair given the level of service. I cannot imagine being represented by a public defender, especially after witnessing the other cases during my appearance before the judge/court.
I ultimately enter a “guilty plea” and opted for the conditional discharge which is a diversionary program in municipal court that exists for first-time drug offenders. I was required to enter probation (or “mini-probation”) for one year. Following completion, the charges are dropped, and record expunged.
There were some hiccups after being ordered to “mini-probation”. One month passed and I had still not receiving anything from court regarding probation. Two months, nothing. Three months, the same. Michael was proactive and reached out to the courts/probation every month to ensure I was covered, and the probation start date was not extended. This is the type of service you do not get with a public defender.
In short, if you find yourself needing criminal defense, do not play with your future. Call, email, text Michael Shulman. You will be glad you did.

I would HIGHLY recommend Michael Shulman. He is a true professional, honest, patient, very responsive, fair in judgement, cost, understanding and goes the extra mile. I recently was faced with a situation and needed legal representation. I called Mike on a Friday late afternoon, explained my circumstances briefly by phone and before he would commit to taking my case, he asked to meet with him the following day. He took time out of his Saturday morning to meet at his office so that he could better understand my case in a face to face environment as part of his due diligence process. In other words, this man does not just take your money, he is upfront and honest, will fight for you and remains 100% transparent. My situation did turn into a trial and Mike did win my case. He was extremely communicative during the entire process, including trial and I would add to this that not all cases win in court but having someone in your corner that you can trust is very comforting. I would not hesitate to call upon Mike for representation.

I hired Matthew Feinbloom to handle my home purchase and would not recommend
[UPDATE: I would only recommend Matt if he gets more assistance with his workload, becomes more transparent in his communication about expectations and if you, the potential client, are able to stay on top of the process and proactively check in or ask questions throughout.]
I went with Matt because my realtor recommended him. Throughout the months-long process, I maybe heard from Matt three to five times. [UPDATE: By which I meant of his own initiation to inform me of things like executed contracts being ready for signing.]
He was responsive enough via email, but never seemed to actually be in my corner. [UPDATE: Matt is insistent that he has his clients best interests at heart, and I believe that he feels this way. From my perspective I just felt like I wanted someone more communicative and who would guide me every step of the way.]
On the DAY OF closing, he informed me AT SIGNING that the tax abatement I had been asking about for months had been denied. I asked when he found out about the denial, and he said 2 weeks ago. But he waited a whole two weeks to let me know?
[UPDATE: Matt has admitted that this is something he should have done sooner but stated that in his opinion this wouldn't have made a difference in whether I would have received approval for an abatement.]
I was also charged TWICE for my Homeowners Insurance by the title company that Matt selected. He asked them in writing to issue a check as a refund, but they did not, and he never followed up until I checked in more than a month later. Not to mention the many issues my lender had with the title company.
[UPDATE: Matt said that he didn't know and that had he known they didn't send me the refund he would have done something. I didn't check on the refund until weeks later because I had to deal with the administrative fallout and general tedium of moving.]
At closing, too, the TITLE DEED he wanted me to simply sign (without double checking) had the WRONG UNIT on it. The papers I was supposed to sign had multiple errors all over them, and he had to fix and reprint several sheets of paper, resulting in him being late for his next meeting.
[UPDATE: Matt has stated both during our call today and at closing in June that when I was signing the documents was the first time he had himself read them, so any errors that came up were really the mistakes of the deed and title companies, who themselves had lawyers and other people working on the documents.]
Overall, it felt like Matt had no time to really pay attention to my case. I wish I had gone with someone else. I'm now continuing to deal with the fallout of having been blindsided this entire process. I have all the documents and receipts to prove what happened. If you want to go with Matt, make sure you're on top of the entire process yourself. Otherwise, find someone else who will actually look out for you.
[FINAL UPDATE: I feel that Matt did get the brunt of my displeasure at the entire homebuying process, which was especially shitty in Jersey City. It was not Matt's fault that so much of the process was frustrating and frankly borderline illegal. The builders and developers had a part to play as well, and the seller's attorney was difficult to work with, causing many of these issues. I've suggested to Matt that his firm finds more assistance so he can have more time to focus on his cases and his clients' needs. In future, I would find a different attorney for myself, as I want someone who's more proactive about communicating with me. Matt may improve in future too, and he seemed genuinely distraught

I really don't know where to begin but let me start off my saying Sandra was an absolute godsend to us. We were blessed to have her and I emphasize BLESSED. I needed to sell my home because I was moving out of state. My son-in-law led me to Sandra. This is the best move we could've ever made throughout this entire process. Andy is an excellent attorney and a great guy! He has gotten many driving violations dismissed or amended to no points with minimum fines for me. Just last week he got a failure to yield at a stop sign ticket thrown out. He is very familiar with the municipal court system and has a great relationship with prosecutors and judges alike. Additionally, several years ago, he attained for me a very favorable deal on a DWI refusal with an accident and hit and run which is extremely difficult to do. We were at city hall in Key West to get our marriage license and unbeknownst to us, we needed the date of our divorces from our previous marriages. Mine was more than 20 years ago and I could not remember the exact date and my solo attorney had since passed. I was struggling with my bills and was not paying my mortgage. The bank was sending me threatening letters that they would take my home in foreclosure. I was referred to Ansetti & Assoc. and their office saved my home by modifying my mortgage to a lower rate and took off some principle. It did take over 2 and 1/2 years but that didnt bother me because I didnt have to pay my mortgage and taxes and it gave me time to get back on my feet.

Kero Antoun is one of the best attorneys around. He took my case to trial and got an outright dismissal. When we were first appearing in court he wouldn’t even entertain a plea offer. I was really scared at first but he kept telling me to trust him. He had evidence disproving the state’s case and set the matter for trial.
