Disclaimer: The following message is all alleged claims to protect myself from A legal pursuit over my opinions on this man. I get a feeling he’s had some pre-conceived counter-retaliation for me anyways. I was referenced to Ron’s legal practice by an allegedly abusive employer after losing my left arm to paralysis and fracturing my neck and every limb in my body from a hit and run pedestrian-vehicle accident. My experiences with the firm would lead me to believe that you would probably be subject to further injury trusting his practice. And if you wised up to this sort of thing he has the network to gag you over it. I wouldn’t trust him again and I don’t think anyone should.

Ron Schwartz is an outstanding lawyer. I have been in several lawsuits with him and have known him for about 35 years. He is extremely professional, ethical, and trustworthy. He works to resolve disputes informally if possible, while providing the absolute best representation possible for his clients, and gets the best results possible. If it is necessary to take a case to trial, he puts in incredible hours of work in preparation for trial and in participation in the trial, is on top of every aspect of every issue, and presents those issues to a jury in ways for the jury to easily understand and accept. Juries like him. He is at the absolute top of the profession.

When I was in need of a highly qualified personal injury attorney to aggressively represent me in a “slip and fall” case, it was my extreme good fortune to find Attorney Ronald Schwartz, who agreed to take my case. I knew full well that “slip and fall” cases can often be difficult to bring due to their very nature. Because Attorney Schwartz is so highly experienced and expert in his area of practice, he was able to not only prevail against the two defendants in my case, but to win a six-figure settlement for me and avoid a trial in the process. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome and Attorney Schwartz’s handling of my case. I found Attorney Schwartz and his team of Associates always acting with the highest level of integrity, professionalism, respect and courtesy in his aggressive pursuit of justice and fairness on my behalf. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Attorney Ronald B. Schwartz to anyone searching for an ethical, top-quality personal injury lawyer.

I only consulted with them on the phone but right away they wouldn't take my case, I have since lost the legal ability to get any kind of justice for the wrongful things that were done to me by the members of the law enforcement representatives here in my community because these attorneys are like so many others here in CA, everything has taken a back seat to paying the rent and keeping the lights on. Or to impressing their neighbors, no one is worried about what is right and what is wrong they just want money and that's all they seem to care about, so if you are looking for an attorney that will really fight for you and help you don't expect these people to do it, unless you have lots of money to pay them. Thank you for reading my post and I hope you learn from my experience and call a good attorney that will fight for you.

Nicole is professional and smart and I am able to sleep at night knowing she's on my side fighting for me. Having to retain an attorney for family matters involving children is never enjoyable but if you need someone who will truly listen and guide you correctly it's Nicole. She saved my future with my two kids and continues to make sure I have the best legal representation out there. I firmly believe she is one of the top lawyers out there. If you need one of the best give the firm a call and ask for Nicole. Ill continue to refer my family and friends her way.

I hired Nicole not too long ago to represent me in a scary divorce & custody battle. She was very knowledgeable & experienced. She was very honest with me. She let me know what was worth fighting for & what was a waste of time & money. I felt like she held my hand the entire time. Everything came out great...better than I hoped. My child is happy & healthy. I just found out there was a website for reviews & wanted to thank her publicly for her patience.

Nicole was pawned off on me, for lack of better words, I went in thinking I was hiring Ms Whyte, and ended up with Miss Schmidt. She was rude through most of the process, and really did not listen, it was much easier for her to handle things in a cookie cutter fashion than to think outside the box. My biggest mistake was not getting a new attorney after our first day in court when she negotiated, I had very little involvement wirh that and was told it was only a preliminary and that we could get it changed later. Come to find out that is actually a very difficult feat. She prefers only contact through email. Once your case is finished, she mmakes it clear that she is no longer your attorney, you can rehire her for $300 an hour to ask her about your specifics about what was agreed upon in your negotiation. There's no information given on preparation for the future and in what instances you are entitled to make negotiations. Now I am paying an even steeper price by financial loss through her settling instead of fighting the fight and by hiring a new attorney to review and inform me of all that was agreed upon.

I was involved with Tom Walley as part of a new born child custody dispute case. He claims to have the child's best interest in mind but really it's his pocket. He will send tons of wasteful emails, nickle and dime you for it. His arguments and offers are out of this world, never have I heard such ridiculous talk! He loves to make things up, watch out for his colicky baby scheme, it's a doozy! Had it not been for cost I almost wanted to continue to trial to show the other party how useless he is. He will make threats of DVRO for text messaging with zero ground to stand on. In the end me and the other party worked things out with zero input from him. I can't believe he even claims to be a mediator. He is rude, cocky and extremely unprofessional. Let's be real this guy is a real estate attorney he doesn't know family law, don't let him fool you. His 45yrs experience are NOT family law.

I cannot express how difficult it was to work with Marietta Raqueno. I hired Robert as my divorce attorney and she came as part of the package as his assistant. On many occasions, she delayed relaying critical information from the other party in a timely manner, causing me to make important decisions without the benefit of that information. She told me she didn't agree with the lead attorney’s strategy (Robert) and tried to get me to go in a different direction, injecting an unnecessary and infuriating level of chaos and drama into an already difficult situation. To top it off she was arrogant and seemed to lack experience, compassion and maturity . I was very happy with Robert. However if Marietta Raqueno is assigned as the assistant on your case, I would recommend requesting someone else.

Marietta helped me through the most trying time in my life. Prior to the pleasure of her taking my case over, I had the unpleasant situation of a less experienced attorney which kept me up all night because of worry. When Marietta took over, my worries disappeared. She understood my goals, explained my options to me throughout the process and kept me informed throughout my case. She always welcomed my comments and respected my opinion. She has an eye for detail and does a good job getting her point across. She made sure I was comfortable with all work product before sending it to posing counsel. As for communication, she is formal and downright honest, which I believe people may mistake for being rude or arrogant. As a businessperson myself, I truly appreciate these qualities about her as she has exceeded my expectations. Her candor is something I quickly learned to appreciate. It was the mutual respect of client and attorney that led to a favorable result in my case - along with Marietta's knowledge of the law and her work product. She came highly recommended as an attorney and I would recommend her to anybody needing a family law attorney.

While Mr. Pederzani may be very good at encouraging a settlement, he didn't have an interest in listening to my opinion. In my case, I indicated several times that I didn't think my wife was negotiating in good-faith. Rather than considering my feedback, Mr. Pederzani would lecture me that he had 37-years of experience and his "reach-out to your wife" approach would work. In fact, he would routinely call me with status reports with long-winded discussions. I attempted to cut short his lectures because it was rather expensive to listen to these lectures, but he would keep going and going. Needless to say, he burned through the retainer without producing any results. I eventually retained an aggressive attorney, where we successfully and cost-effectively dictated settlement terms. If both parties can settle, then Mr. Pederzani might be an excellent attorney. In my case, I'm very happy to have switched to someone that listened to my opinion.

My friend got into a bad situation and a very reliable person recommended her to contact David Flyer. When she contacted the office, the representative on the phone (she didn't provide her name or qualifications) took note of the case details but she decided to start dictating instructions to my friend rather than letting her know if a lawyer would be in contact. My friend was surprised and asked whether or not she could contact the attorney in order to see if he was interested in her case and the possibility of becoming a future client. The woman told my friend that she deserved to be placed in that situation because she didn't follow her instructions even though all she wanted was to contact someone for help. I'm not sure of the capability of the attorney, however his staff are unprofessional, rude, and condescending.

I had to retain Mr. Flyer for a divorce. He's doesn't sugar coat it, gives you the law, options and makes recommendations to come to a resolution quickly (so you don't have to keep paying attorney's fees). Unfortunately I was married to someone that was looking to make my life hell, and thankfully Mr. Flyer knows the law and was able to deal with his antics. After it was all finished at trial, opposing counsel was supposed to write up everything. After not hearing from them, Mr. Flyer moved forward, wrote it all up and filed it with the court to get things finalized. We never heard from opposing counsel again - I guess the outcome wasn't what my ex expected! I have referred several friends to him as well, and all appreciate his honest, straight forward approach.

This guy is a super lawyer. He's like a machine, like a computer. He may not be the most sympathetic person, but if you want to know the truth about your case with no BS, he's your man. One thing I like most about him (besides the fact he does excellent legal work) is he always takes my phone calls and if he's not in, he calls me back immediately. My last lawyer, I could tell, was having his secretary lie and say he wasn't in when he was. There's none of that with Mr. Flyer. His work is always ready early and there's no last minute hurry up. I've used him twice now and I ALWAYS recommend him to my friends.

No one wants to say they have a family law attorney on retainer, but if you need some serious representation, you've got to hire John R. Schilling (who my father-in-law has dubbed, "The Orange County Baracuda"). John has been my family law attorney for years, always offering sound advisement for a myriad of divorce, and custody-related issues. John's office and staff (Tara Villa and Vickie Conner) have been so personal and kind during some of the darkest times of my family's life. With his unrelenting determination to seek a just and fair outcome for his client, John was able to gain "client control" over my petulant ex-husband that even HIS own attorney could not. John is very confident and commanding in the courtroom, and has decades of experience with all the judges and any fellow attorney worth their salt. THANK YOU, John, Tara, and Vickie!

hands-down, the most disrespectful lawyer, it’s an absolute disgrace that this guy is allowed to practice law. He is just about the most slimy and greasy lawyer I’ve ever met. look up this guy‘s reviews you’ll see that he’s had different businesses under different names the truth always comes out, and the reviews are posted. He’ll then have to close his office and open under a different name because of how poorly he treats people. The Internet is forever. Do your research and read the reviews. I find it very hard to believe that over 20 people have conspired together to give him one star reviews it’s just how bad this lawyer is and how crappy he treats people in dire times of need.

DO NOT HIRE this person. I wish I could leave my email address so I could prove to you everything I am saying. Although I won't be able to list everything on this review considering there is so much negativity I can say about Shannon. I'm currently going through a divorce and this lawyer is only concerned with splitting my assets - completely refuses to question my wife's transfers of money to all kinds of different accounts. She will bill you for anyone that contacts her and mentions your name even if it has NOTHING to do with the divorce, i.e. realtor's lawyer and escrow. I have spent over 20k in lawyer fees and haven't made it to court to get a final ruling. I had to go completely off on her before she would subpoena my credit union and she was upset because I proved I had over 26k prior to marriage. Shannon refuses to provide a description for the plethora of claimed correspondences she had with opposing counsel. We are only talking about two of my bank accounts, 401k and pension - why so many correspondences???? Shannon made sure she called me 30 mins prior to the Mandatory Settlement Conference just to threaten me not to say anything during the hearing or she would force me to sign a substitution of attorney. Shannon and my ex's lawyer were obviously afraid I would bring up issues that you would think Shannon would bring up since she's suppose to be my lawyer. Example, my ex signed the listing of the house and the quick deed late, but wasn't sanctioned by the court; however, ironically, I have followed everything in the court order, but Shannon has threatened me many times of being sanctioned by the court if I didn't do everything she told me to do - and that is to give up everything of mine and not to worry about what my ex tucked away for eight years. Shannon had a great opportunity to eliminate the spousal support considering the court order clearly states that each party is suppose to notify the other party if they get a new job. My ex got a new job in July 2019, but I wasn't informed of that until the MSC which was in December 2019. My spousal support should have been lowered back in July but Shannon states that it doesn't work like like, even though they retrod my spousal payments several months. I truly believe the judge would have eliminated the spousal support considering my ex proved she will not inform me or the court if she start making more money. I will definitely be taking Shannon to the Bar Association!!!!!!!!!!

I was a client of this attorney. The thing that I did not like about the attorney's services was that he was very unprofessional and unethical because he hit up on me three times, and because I did not respond to his advances, I feel that he lost my case on purpose. I understand he may not be happy with his current marital situation, however, this affected his professionalism. Try to be as objective as possible.

He was quick to get back to me whenever I had an issue and he did a wonderful job of explaining everything to me before hand and putting to rest any of my fears. A+++++ I would trust him with my eyes closed!

I paid and hired her during my divorce in 2019, unfortunately Covid hit and my ex still hadn't paid her. Come end of 2021 things start moving since he submitted his payment. Only for her to do it wrong and pull out 3x what he was supposed to receive. A rather LARGE error and blamed me for it being incorrect. Had a new QDRO completed to "fix it" that took even more money out. AND STILL NO MONEY RETURNED from the incorrect withdrawal. It's been almost 8 months since the first error and almost a year of issues in total. DON'T HIRE HER!

My ex wife and I are 2.5 years into settling the two QUADROs that we’re ordered in our divorce. On the recommendation of my attorney, we paid Nancy Bunn to file the documents for the pension and 401k plans. She initially took a little over a year to “complete” the filings. Then we discovered that she had only filed documents for the 401k. “Oh... there’s a pension too?” Another few months pass and Nancy tells us that it’s all complete. My ex recently changed jobs so as part of her separation from her employer she was asked what she wanted them to do with the pension money. It turns out that Nancy has never filed the correct documents and the company was not aware of the QUADRO on the pension. People make mistakes, but this woman is very old and her behavior resembles someone having memory issues. She doesn’t return calls and when you do reach her she babbles in circles and you have to tell her multiple time who you are. I’ve been told that she was a great attorney back in the day, but that day has passed. Don’t take the risk working with Nancy.

Ms. Bunn came highly recommended, and she did not disappoint. Nancy is very knowledgeable about the QUADRO law and process. I highly recommend her.

I have worked with Simina Gentry for several years. I have always found her to be an extremely professional attorney who always puts the needs of her clients first.

I wish I had read the other review before hiring her. She has an excellent presentation, she promises solutions and efficiency but instead invents more work and bills substantial additional hours. I'm seriously considering reporting her to the CA State Bar.

If you are seeking value for your resources, it is prudent to avoid this attorney as it may not meet your expectations in terms of delivering a satisfactory outcome in return for the investment of your money and time. Currently, CA & OC Bar Association is helping us.

My uncle and I own a restaurant together. We were sued by a handicapped person claiming we didn't have the right type of parking and bathroom. We spoke to a lot of lawyers. Most of them said just settle and be done with it. He said if we settle then they will hit us again and again. We spent so much money with this guy. So much time. The whole case was a huge distraction to our lives. We ended up spending many times more money on him than what these cases usually settle for. We regret it.

Unprofessional and rude. Only in it for the money. Charged me so much for a simple case, none of it was necessary.

The worst most unprofessional office ever. if only I had read all these negative reviews on William Greens office, i would of never ever hired them. They never communicate, they never call you back, they always end up hanging up on you and never return emails until you threaten to take them to The State Bar. They lie continuously to you. One of the worst employees is Noemi who calls herself the manager. She is absolutely so unprofessional, dishonest and does not give a s... about you or her work environment. i do not see how she can be called a manager when she does NOTHING for this law practice but destroy it. I ended up firing them and am so glad i did. This place is such a nightmare to deal with. I ended up working out my work comp case without them on my own. I must say what a pleasure it was dealing with the defendants insurance attorneys. They were so very professional. They called me when they said they would. They emailed me when they said they would. They answered all my questions in a very professional manner and were just a pleasure to deal with. If anyone has a work comp case, RUN from this law firm.

I had a case with Mr Green for many years. I like him as a person and i trusted him. But after 14 years i became very sceptical of all the things that happened. The biggest problem is communication with most of his clients. The problem i am having now is i left the country, and the covid is keeping me from getting to really push the firm to settle my case. I only talk to a legal assistant, and that is only by email, when he decides to answer my emails. It has been so long that no other attorney wants to handle the case. So i am basically stuck with them. Well, i have one attorney that might help me. Anyway, The legal assistant always has another reason to keep the case going. I am almost convinced that they want to keep it going. At first the legal assistant told me the rating and how much we could get if i just wait longer. I waited and now he is saying the settlement is much much less. I spend a big part of my life going to MRIs, exrays, doctor visits, evaluations, re-evaluations, depositions, etc. Now they still wont settle the case, and they keep me holding on to nothing. I am retired now and drawing social security and pension from my job. But i cant get them to settle the case. I guess i will have to get the other attorney to intervene and help with the case and pay an extra fee for that. Or i will have to complain to the board. I am very very disappointed in that group of people. I dont think anyone knows where the office is. Bill goes out to get clients and then you talk to people in some office somewhere. The mail goes to a post office. I thought Bill was a friend, but now i am wondering about all of them.

My experience was that this attorney can ramp up the stress of a divorce to an almost unbearable degree. He rarely responded to written letters (he doesn't use email), or messages left with the receptionist (he doesn't use voicemail), doesn't answer any question directly, and in general this man gave me the constant feeling that I was completely disrespected and he'd be handling my divorce his way: my input and/or factual information was unwelcome. The mistakes he made were very costly to me, and never acknowledged by him. I would have given up a lot of money not to go through the extra years of agony with this attorney.

Hired Briggs to defend me in a divorce case. He did just fine in court, but holy smokes, this old dude is so far behind the times that it is virtually impossible to communicate with him. He'll bill you for work executed incorrectly, then charge you to fix his own mistakes. Then if you ask him about it, he'll get bent out of shape and try to drop you. I know, that is precisely what happened to me. I'd really suggest going with somebody a bit younger and more up with modern day modes of communication and who has a more customer-oriented focus and is still sharp.

Mr. Briggs is hands down the best family law attorney in Orange County. This is not just my opinion, but the opinion of anyone that does anything related to family law in OC. Mr. Briggs handled a difficult case for me and helped get things back on track. He is intelligent, insightful, and commands the respect of both his peers and judges. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to go to trial, then there is no better attorney in Orange County, and perhaps Southern California, to handle your case. He can only be described as a "killer" in court. He will rip to shred any so called "expert" on cross-examination. He is also a master at creating a clear and winning theme for your case that he supports with evidence, arguments, and witness selection. Had Mr. Briggs chosen civil litigation, I have no doubt that he would have single-handedly brought down big tobacco. He is that good both in and out of court. A previous review mentioned that Mr. Briggs is "unresponsive." That's not accurate. Mr. Briggs has been practicing for over 40 years and knows what matters and what doesn't. Most family law litigants become obsessed with meaningless details. Mr. Briggs could, as many family law attorneys do, run up your bill by engaging you in meaningless dialogue. Instead. Mr. Briggs stays focused on what matters to deliver the best results while keeping your costs to a minimum. Is Mr. Briggs "cheap?" My answer to that is simple. There are attorneys who have a lower hourly and require a smaller retainer. But remember, there is nothing more expensive than hiring a bad lawyer. Mr. Briggs is actually very reasonably priced when you consider the results he delivers. Additionally, after hiring Mr. Briggs you will instantly have the respect and attention of opposing counsel (something that you will not have if you go at it "pro-per", especially in OC). If you have a family law matter in Orange County, do yourself a favor and hire Mr. Briggs. Trust him, listen to him, and do what he tells you to do. You'll be happy you did.

Andy assisted me in two matters. The first primarily involved his paralegals researching a tax issue with a government agency. His staff worked efficiently to solve the mystery and the issue was resolved. The fees seemed reasonable and it was a great experience. The second was a commercial lease review and negotiation. Dealt primarily with Andy. His comments were very useful - he is clearly very experienced and knowledgable regarding these leases. He did, however, make me feel a bit like he was fitting me in, and he shuffled my lease to another attorney temporarily while he had bigger fish to fry. In general, he was polite on the phone and not difficult to speak with. The fees seemed high - I've worked leases with other attorneys and not seen such high fees - and I asked him to review the fees and see if they could be adjusted at all. I was very polite and praised him effusively, and said even if the fees could not be adjusted, I would simply appreciate being informed in the future when fees were heading north of a couple grand. We are a small cost-conscious startup and I thought he would understand. He responded sarcastically and angrily that I must not know the cost of good legal advice, and that he doesn't want to work with me going forward. He did offer a credit. I did value his advice and would have happily paid the full invoice if he felt so strongly in the fees. To me, they just lacked a bit of value. I responded apologetically and offered an olive branch, but received another haughty message in response. I've worked with 4 other attorneys (none of them RE specific), a couple of them being very prominent attys in their fields, and never felt value lacking or been treated this way. It was a very unpleasant way to be treated and an unpleasant experience in general. I would not wish any of my friends or colleagues to be treated this way, regardless of his expertise.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?

  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.

Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
