Ted will bill you for thinking about how he's gonna take a crap. Seriously, this guy seems more worried about how much he can get for doing nothing than how much he can earn for his work. You'll write Ted a lot of checks amd ask him a lot of questions while wasting time and money. Teddy will cash every check and you'll never get a straight answer... run.

I retained Mr Greene to reunite me with my son (3/15/10) for 5000.00. I informed him that time was of the essence, and he assured me he would attend to it immediately. one month later he asked for another 2800.00. He had "consultations " with an unlicensed "Dr." that he charged 500 a piece for, even though this person cant testify in court.5 1/2 months later he couldnt even bother to put in a notice of appearance, or tell me when he would rven draft a motion

This attorney is horrible. Please save your money and hire someone else. I wasted $4000 on this attorney, ended up firing her and having to dish out another $4000 on another attorney for my case. Melissa says she is going to do everything you want to here in the beginning to get your money and then doesn't follow through with anything she told you she was going to do. I told her I didn't want to do mediation and wanted to go before the judge instead and she said that I had to do mediation and actually initiated it and then didn't even show up for it and had someone else there pressuring me to agree to terms I was not happy with. She also made me look bad in front of the judge because she never turned in my financial affidavit like she was suppose to do. Whenever you call her office you are not able to speak to her and you will get a return call 3 days later. She does not make you feel like your case is important and she never once called me to update me on my case. I always had to call her to find out what was going on. I was fighting for custody against a parent with a domestic violence history and she told me that 4 years ago was too long ago to use against him....like What??? And then guess what......he was arrested for the same thing a month ago. She actually makes you feel like she is not on your side. I told her over and over again that I wanted to request that the father to pay the attorney fees because I couldn't afford it and she slipped it into the mediation paperwork saying each party will pay for their own attorney. She also didn't even request child support for me. I have to give up my child to a stranger 3 times a week and she doesn't even ask for child support that I requested. If you are going through a custody battle please do yourself a favor and do not hire this attorney. You will lose!

He was my first attorney at Dan Newlins firm. Absolutely horrible. I often wondered if he was representing me or the defendant that caused a major accident that severly hurt my daughter and I..surprised to see he left Dan Newlins firm. He fits in so well with the incompetents and poor representation I am still subject to at that office. If u want to lose ur case go with one of these Dan Newlin/Morgan & Morgan attys. There's a reason there are billboards and commercials all over Orlando..if any of them were good attorneys that wouldn't need to pay people to try to get them business. Stay away from anyone in these 2 firms.

Can not recommend Paul SanGiovanni. This man did little if anything to help me in my final Mediation. Pauls Presentation to the Mediator was not accurate at all. I have sent Paul an email after the close of case, and called several times no response.

This woman represented me for an accident I had in 2014. I got a lousy offer from the at fault party's insurance adjuster, likely because Ms. Garcia has a reputation in the industry of being a lazy attorney and poor litigator. She wound up filing suit on my behalf. I was deposed by opposing counsel but Ms. Garcia didn't depose the man who hit me. She didnt bother. Opposing counsel required I get an independent examination. Ms. Garcia should have had a videographer go with me. She was too lazy and unfamiliar with civil procedure to arrange one. It would have been an expense and she would have had to review it and she wad too lazy. Finally, she told me she could settle my case for $6k, that opposing counsel had offered SIX thousand. I agreed to take it. Then she said opposing counsel told her $5k. I asked about the $6k and Ms. Garcia told me opposing counsel denied offering $6k. I asked her if she got it in writing and she said no. Can you believe that? I could have refused it. I hadn't signed a release and we could have kept litigating. The next step would have been mediation. I didn't trust Ms. Garcia to litigate properly or with confidence. Indeed I was afraid she would perform so poorly opposing counsel would withdraw the $5k offer! So I took it. This woman does the MINIMUM. No effort. Avoid her. She's useless.

He does none of his own work research and he doesnt know his way around a courtroom. I really dont know how this person is an attorney. One of the worst I have encountered. I was injured in a car accident with a crash from behind and he managed to have me sued by the defendant and now I owe the person that crashed into me thousands of dollars. When there was a hearing on this matter he told me not to show up thathe was there to represent me. Yeah represent me into the poorhouse. How in the world does that happen.

Unprofessional conduct exhibited by Quinton J. Sheer, Esq., during our telephone conversation earlier, February 9, 2024. I found his behavior to be highly inappropriate and disrespectful.During our conversation, Quinton J. Sheer repeatedly hung up the phone call on three separate occasions. Each time he called back, he attempted to dismiss the issue by falsely claiming that the calls had dropped, using very sarcastic language. This behavior was not only unbecoming of a legal professional but also entirely unacceptable in any professional setting. I must express my disappointment and frustration with Quinton J. Sheer lack of professionalism and courtesy. As a client, I expect to be treated with respect and consideration, regardless of the circumstances. Quinton J. Sheer conduct fell far short of these expectations, and it reflects poorly on both him and the firm he represents.

Not aggressive at all. Missed many chances to show the other side was not telling the truth. Did not listen to anything I told him about the case. I never got copies of all the paperwork he filed in my case. I would have done a better job presenting my case myself.

Used in case against Disney. Had one mistrial due to lack of responsiveness and/or preparedness. One juror even posted that seemed like they got file two weeks prior. Made numerous promises going into second trial all of which were broken. As a retired NY trial attorney of 23 years, never saw a trial attorney so unprepared.

This attorney takes days to return calls and emails. He then will give you a piece of information to hold you off only until you need to follow back up with him again. He miscalculated info given to court, then filed motion to correct in turn was denied. It almost feels as if you have to do some digging for your own case. He failed to give me options leaving me to assume what I was faced with was my only choice. I felt like he did not fight my case; too laid back with lack professionalism. I had to plead for certain documents be forwarded to me plead for him to contact me to instruct me after a hearing. I was awaiting almost 2mos for a final judgement and during that time I felt like I was leaving msgs begging for a return call, text or email. He finally submitted and closed out case without any further instruction or regards.

Admitted to purposely withholding / hiding fact that the firm was involved in a embezzlement investigation (by a former employee) with local law enforcement while soliciting my representation. When confronted after discovering this fact, I was told "only important clients were informed." Tara did not fully understand the requirements for disqualifying an opposing attorney, who previously represented me, and her arguments were summarily rejected in a hearing. I felt like the judge was lecturing us like elementary school children that did not know the obvious difference between right and wrong. Meanwhile I was charged thousands of dollars for this futile litigation, which was a distraction from the primary issue of a tenant breaking a lease.

I don't recommend Lic. Lorena Kcomt, she has no professional ethics. She is not a woman prepared to take on any criminal case. She doesn't answer emails or calls. I was trying to communicate with her for two months and I never could. The lic. Lorena Kcomt is an ordinary, they should take away her diploma. I let you know that she is irresponsible, she doesn't deserve to be under any law firm. It is unfortunate that these people have them working for Orange Country County. It has been the worst nightmare to have her in a court to defend people in need.

He represented someone that wasn't competent proof review , the Dr Alan Berns, yet another fraudster stated in his report that was not competent to stand trial, Stated needed medical care 24 /7 Plus the So Call Judge Renee Roche* was also aware the person was found by 2 dr incompetent to stand trial. Mr Hooper did not submit and witness or any dr reports So if anyone out there that has and one of the people on any part of your case reach out and report them the the medical board, and the Legal system they do not need to be able to practice anywhere We have legal documents showing they were never present, and A call to the judge Ms Roche stated do not have anyone contact her . So in other words the did not do their legal ethical part of their job , So they just sweep this under the rug Wake up people these people are human to just because you want to help a fellow buddy out, is it worth a chance to throw it all away to help a friend

She didn't read all my complaints nor did she look all the overwhelming evidences yet she decided to give to a criminal a free pass. Stay away from this extremely biased lawyer.

05 Sep, 2014 by Felon convicted by his own lawyer
As a 1st offender, this attorney told me he could get my felony charge, reduced to a misdemeanor. Instead, he convinced me (stupid me for trusting this guy) that it was in my best interest to plead, NOLO to the charges. He told me a felony charge would not hold me back...shortly after the case ended, I was laid off. I spend 2 years unemployed, because felons do not get hired. I lost my home, my car and much more...at the end of the day, I feel like my case was used to give the Prosecutor a positive stat on thire record, and a favor for Hugo for a future case. Using Hugo and being convinced by him to accept, what he thought was in my "best" interest has ruined my life for the time being. 4 years later, I am still struggling in every aspect of my life. Do not agree to plead NOLO...what kind of lawyer advises and assures a client that felony charge will not have a negative impact on EVERYTHING...Thanks HUGO!

I used 5 attorneys over the years for various reasons. Debra is the worst attorney I have ever hired by far!!! She did such a poor job on my case that I finally fired her. Lost most of the money I had to put down to retain her. My experience with her left such a bad taste in my mouth, once I saw she was back in Orlando…I had to post this. Would strongly recommend not using her...unless you like bad representation, no action, poor communication, and throwing your money away!!!

Alicia Virginio was given to us as the prosecutor in a criminal case where our daughter was beaten and abused; she was so awful, filed the charges incorrectly, made a deal with prosecutor; which we were totally against had the Judge changed twice in 19 months so she and prosecuter could get their light sentence of 2 years; she went on her cocaine bing trip within the week of the criminal trial and should have been fired years ago but Ashton let them all stay. Now she needs to lose her license and never practice law again, she was unprofessional, unethical, could care less about our daughter.

This is one of the worst attorneys you can hire. So unorganized and unprepared it’s ridiculous! She’s been working as an attorney for a long time and might have the experience but she definitely needs to retire. When she represents you in court she often stumbles over her words and isn’t prepared in any way for your fight. If your willing to waste your money go right ahead but if your looking for someone to actually fight your battle, find another attorney!

I have used her for a civil case and asked her for something specific as request for a move to another jurisdiction. The case ended up being tried in the state of Florida when it should have been in another state. Because of that, I had lost the case when in fact, it should have been brought to the proper state as I had nothing to do with the state of Florida. I have no residence nor ties to the state.

There are several reasons I do not recommend Sarah Arnold, Esq. 1. In talking with her she stated to me that she could tell that my child's father was lying. 2. As I was walking out of her office she told me that she could tell that I was a good mother. 3. In her report she wrote the exact opposite. 4. In Sarah Arnold's opening remarks to me before I even had a chance to start talking, she made several statements one of which was "I get so annoyed at people who complain about abuse. Abuse doesn't even exist." 5. When I tried to submit proof she demonstrated indifference in that she took a small amount, but wouldn't even consider allowing me to submit it all. And it wasn't like i was trying to dump a trunk load amount on her.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
