I have been with the firm for about two years as my divorce is taking time due to the other party. I started off with one attorney and due to maternity leave, Bethany stepped in to get the process moving after my retainer was given. I was then assigned to Chrystal. She has explained everything well and took charge of my divorce. She won the APL for me. She answered every question I had timely. The outcome of the divorce with child support and alimony is fair, considering the laws. She will also work on my custody. To be truthful the divorce process is expensive (depending on your situation), but the experience that comes with the firm is worth the cost. The firm has been very workable and most importantly truthful with me.

This firm and our Attorney has been nothing less then a blessing to our family, when we thought that everything was going against my son fighting for his child, Chrystal stepped in with no hesitation and took the wheel, provided the evidence and got my son his child. we are so grateful for everything she does and pushes hard for us each and everytime, she fights for us like she would for her own family. I couldn't be more happier, pleased and blessed 🙏 and would refer anyone I know to this firm and attorney any chance I get. Thank you again!!!!

I’ve had an absolutely incredible experience with Notaro Epstein. My attorney is Erika Reichert and she has worked so hard to understand my specific situation and concerns. She is very thorough and makes sure that all my questions are answered, no matter how many I ask her! I feel like this firm genuinely cares about me as a client and wants to help me as much as possible. Highly recommend Notaro Epstein!

I was referred to Matthew Becker from another well known attorney for lemon law. She could not help our situation, but Matt did. He reassured us that the place we bought our truck from would be held accountable for their actions. What we appreciated most was how flexible Matt was. Matt understood our hectic schedule and worked with us by phone and email. He did not sugarcoat any outcomes and was very honest. Thanks again Matt! I will refer him if the opportunity arises.

Andrew Lacy exemplifies excellence in Employment Law. He strikes an ideal balance between professionalism and genuine empathy for his clients' situations. What makes Andrew different is his innovative approach to legal challenges and his unwavering dedication. When I found myself facing a wrongful termination case, Andrew advocated on my behalf, ensuring I received fair treatment throughout the process. His team is not only highly competent but also trustworthy and attentive to client needs. I'm very grateful for their efforts. Exceptional Representation by the Lacy Employment Law Firm If you are an employee in search of a law firm that genuinely listens, advocates fiercely, and remains transparent throughout your case, look no further than Andrew Lacy and the Lacy Employment Law Firm. Recently, I found myself in unfamiliar territory facing a challenging situation as an employee. Though I didn’t know Andrew personally, his listing in the African American Chamber of Commerce Western PA Directory, coupled with a recommendation from a highly respected leader in Pittsburgh, reassured me that I could trust him. I was not disappointed — I undoubtedly made the right decision. From our very first conversation, Andrew’s integrity and professionalism were evident. He was upfront and honest, carefully managing my expectations while distinguishing my rights from my assumptions. His words, “I want to help you,” were not just a phrase but a commitment he and his team followed through on. Throughout the entire process, Andrew, along with Kathy and Kathryn, kept me continuously informed, ensuring I knew what to expect, what not to expect, and regularly checking in to make sure I was okay. What stood out the most was the personalized care I received. Andrew and his team made it clear that I wasn’t just another case file — I was treated as a person whose rights and well-being genuinely mattered. That level of care made all the difference. Their unwavering support and legal expertise were invaluable, and I always felt empowered and well-informed during the process. I wholeheartedly recommend Andrew Lacy and his team to anyone in need of employment law representation. Their dedication to fighting for fairness and providing thorough, compassionate support sets them apart. They don’t just get the job done — they excel at it, ensuring their clients feel protected and heard every step of the way.

I had an amazing experience with Shrager Attorneys. The whole process was super smooth, and the communication was top-tier. Lyle and Frankie were both incredible—they really had my back every step of the way. Even when I slipped up on my end, Frankie made sure everything stayed on track. I felt completely supported throughout, and I’d 100% recommend them to anyone. If I ever needed legal help again, I wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thank you guys again!

I sat in jail with a bond set 200k for simple and 5 k for DUI (3) assault and intimidating witness, from a known abusive ex. Drug dealer. A police officer I sued a year prior finally pulls me over in another jurisdiction under no legal way no legal reason to pull me over. He stated that my back window was covered with a plastic he couldn't see through which was one that I bought at AutoZone and this was in Westmoreland county he then said he traveled me across the bridge for 4/10 of a mile to clock me to make to see if I was speeding I suppose he came to the conclusion I was going 34 in a 25 which would be impossible to prove because there wasn't enough space for him to actually properly conduct that speed check and that was established in the courtroom in front of the judge and the judge still allowed this man to leave the courtroom lying and I know courts got a lot to lie about but if I'm innocent until proven guilty nah. in a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee . Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
