I was charged with several Measure 11 adult charges while I was a minor. I researched the best attorneys in Portland, and Ryan was on top of that list. When my nephew was arrested and charged with a criminal offense and thrown in jail, our family was in shock. He was there as a tourist on his own, while I am in NYC the rest of the family overseas, and he made a mistake based on cultural differences and without bad intentions. We were scared and lost as to what to do and had to find a great lawyer. A friend of a friend gave us 3 names, and we called all 3, but ONLY ONE called back promptly on the Sunday - and that was Michael Levine (the remaining calls trickled in during the week). We were so lucky because over the next month he proved to be not only a competent lawyer but also responsive, communicative, friendly, and to my nephew he provided real emotional support to guide him and calm him throughout the month. The case was successfully dismissed and that was based on his legal work and filings, but I heard stories from my nephew about how in the courthouse Michael was friendly and polite to everyone, and he sensed that the people who worked there knew and liked Michael and were kind and cooperative in return. Michael was also very fair with the price, and in fact his initial quote was very modest so soon after we started we offered to pay him a higher fee just because we could see he was doing more work than anyone anticipated. And so all in all I'd say BIG THANKS to Michael and we would warmly recommended.

Tabitha Brincat and her entire team did a phenomenal job for my stressful divorce/custody case. There was no part of me that ever wanted to meet Jody or Anna. None! As a 20 year marriage was ending I started asking around for names of attorneys. I didn't have a clue where to start. But, there was one firm that came up several times from people I trusted - Stahancyk, Kent and Hook. I consulted with several firms before SKH and saved them for last. The old adage, save the best for last? Ask Jody or Anna their theory on how you capture a monkey. Hilarious and and so wise. It was at that story, I said... Yes, they are the total for me. They KNOW the law. But, more important that that - THEY UNDERSTAND PEOPLE!
By the grace of God I didn't need near as much representation as I thought I would. It was peaceful. From the very beginning Anna Friedhoff spoke candidly and truthfully with me. There were several times she needed to remind that I hired her because she is the professional. I am a strong woman and wanted to run the show. Oopsy! She gently but firmly guided me through it. When it became apparent the divorce was going to be amicable she saved me tens of thousand of dollars in fees. I bullet pointed out what I need/wanted. She drafted, we went back and forth with a few revisions. I even received a refund on my retainer fee!!!
I hesitate to mention the swiftness of my divorce as I am fully aware it is not a normal pace. I’m giving Anna Friedhoff 5 stars as a divorce attorney, only because I can’t give 6 stars. Anna is the best attorney in Oregon, and if you’re in the unfortunate position of divorce, she needs to be your first and only call.
Anna is an absolute MONSTER of an attorney. She is brilliant, passionate, aggressive, and an all around badass. If anything else, simply hire her to ensure she’s never looking at you from the other side of the courtroom. I promise you, the last name you want to see on the opposing counsel team is Anna Friedhoff.
While we dealt with Covid, and unexpected delays, Anna never took her eyes off the prize. She fought for me and she won every single motion we entered into. Hiring Anna Friedhoff as my divorce attorney was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.

I was rear ended in a motor vehicle accident in December of 2021 and suffered a neck injury. I tried months of physical therapy and eventually connected with Joel Sturm and TUE. I can not even begin to describe the level of effort and concern they put into my case. Joel was present at doctors appointments, he constantly checked on me. The thing he said over and over was "Let's get it fixed, we can worry about other stuff later." The decision to eventually undergo surgery was left to me, and what I thought was best with the advice of the doctors. There was no talk of money and no pressure to settle the claim quickly. It eventually concluded in November of 2023. When it came time to take care of things Joel did an AMAZING job. I just stayed out of his way and let him use his expertise. When he called me to tell me what the settlement was, I didn't believe him. I thought he was pulling my leg. I made him repeat it three times. The job that Joel and TUE did was incredible. I wish the accident had not happened because of the pain and suffering that it caused. Even with physical rehab and surgery I am going to have some soreness and stiffness in my neck for the rest of my life, but because of the accident I met Joel and I am so grateful to him because he worked so hard to represent me and my interests. My husband and I hired Jason after my husband was in a bad car accident. Jason was fantastic through the long process of getting my husband the proper compensation for his current and future losses, he was educated and seemed to genuinely have my husbands and my best interest at heart. Before we met Richard, we had nothing in order -- a very very outdated will (somewhere) that didn't reflect a single aspect of our current life, kids, home, investment property, business etc. After meeting Richard, we have peace of mind!
