they don’t really communicate with clients well. they won’t tell you anything on the court date, they’ll send an email with the updates. i had to call and ask for them to have the lawyer talk to me. i hired a lawyer bc i live in another state and there was some miscommunication resulting in my court date being moved back a month and a half. i only found out bc i called them to ask for updates. when the second court date came around they got my case dismissed tho!

Always a great experience. Danielle (attorney) responds in a prompt matter and is always willing to answer my questions and give advice about needs that come up for clients and the real estate transactions. Desmond (paralegal) does a great job getting back to me and in a couple transactions this past week was amazing about keeping me in the loop (I'm sure I contacted him 15 times in a 2 day period). As an agent I appreciate their systems and the way I can keep up with every step of the transaction and interaction with my clients. I am not writing this review as a bankruptcy client of Mr. Berggren…..it is quite the opposite. This review, which I hope to post everywhere, is about Mr. B’s character, his courtesy and understanding, his extreme knowledge of contractual and bankruptcy laws, and his professionalism (not to mention his terrific sense of humor).
On 3/3/23, I signed a contract with Covenant Roofing in Durham, as well as the financing documents for the job through GoodLeap, which Covenant refers their clients to for financing options.
About 5 weeks after I signed the contracts, no work had yet been started, Covenant Roofing filed for bankruptcy. Also, GoodLeap increased the amount of the contract I signed and they would not give me an addendum or a voided contract of the first one I signed, even though that amount was included AGAIN in the second set of loan documents. Of course, I would not sign the second set.
A friend of mine is a bankruptcy client of Mr. B, and she suggested I contact him for an unusual sort of consultation. First of all, somebody actually answered the phone when I called his office, and second of all, he called me right back. He said he would be happy to talk about my situation right over the phone, and third of all, with NO CONSULTATION FEE after 40 minutes on the phone. Amazing.
The bottom line is that, even though he is not my lawyer or representing me in any way, I took his advice on what to do which resulted in me getting out of my GoodLeap financing loan. And because I have it documented and memorialized that Covenant never started the work, nor did they return my calls and inquiries, that matter is also considered as null and void.
Thank you Mr. Berggren for being a decent human being who is ruled and driven by just doing something nice!

Clifford law firm was to represent my son in 2 counties both wake and sampson. He showed up once in wake none in sampson after being paid to be my son's rep. I would not hear from him nor my daughter in law would see him attend to business. The man mumbles and I could not understand most of what he was saying even though he was apprised I am hard of hearing. 20 months and nothing he said he would do was done. I even hesitate to give one star he deserves none.

This is the right law firm. One star. Really hurting someone. She is their client and it’s hard to watch. I pray they do the right thing, this is a horrible situation to be a part of not be able to help, I pray these attorneys will change their ways and decide to do the right thing. Watching a loved one suffer over the holidays (or anytime) from choosing the wrong attorneys is a nightmare. I pray day and night these attorneys will see the light and not cause any more suffering. I am watching a loved one who is a “current or former client”. She is someone who is dear to my heart and being harmed tremendously by your choice of behavior. She won’t write her own review but is so terrified and hurt she can barely get out of bed most days for the last two weeks strictly on account of your choices. I’m sure she will write a review of this path you have chosen continues, but she is too scared to speak up and you need to stop what you have chosen to do to your client. Don’t make excuses replying to google review as I can easily delete this, when what you should be doing is what’s right towards a human’s life. She trusted you. Replying to this with an excuse or any response will only serve to show people you care more about your appearance than helping your client. I hope today is the last day I pray you two do what is right.
I am 87 years old I would like to live long enough to see my goddaughter is not treated worse in this world as a woman than what I have known for most of my life. YOU ARE WOMEN, DO WHAT’S RIGHT!

Absolute Scam and Unprofessional Behavior
Jeremy,
I hired you to help with a bogus speeding ticket, where I have clear dash cam footage showing my speed, location, and the officer’s actions before and after the stop. The officer claimed I was going 80 in a 45, wrote the wrong location of the stop, and the speed limit on that road was actually 55. My speedometer was at 61, clearly shown on the dash cam. Yet, you had the nerve to tell me you could “maybe” reduce the ticket to a 14-over, despite knowing the entire ticket was a joke.
After this ridiculous introduction, I called the very next day—over a month before the court date—and requested a refund. Your desk lady assured me I’d get a full refund. But today, I get a call telling me the case was continued (even though I fired you), and now you’re only offering half of my payment back because you “spent 20 minutes” on my case? That’s a load of crap.
Then, to top it off you have the audacity to threaten me with legal action if I dispute this scam through my bank. You’re not even competent enough to handle a simple case like this and now you’re acting like a crook. I honestly feel bad for your firm that you’re so desperate for this money, but I’ll be sure to keep on sharing my experience the community.
Keep the half—you clearly need it more than I do.

Towards the amazing team at Riddle and Brantley. I was in a really bad car accident. And after trying to work with the insurance company with the at fault party and they weren't willing to help me. I honestly felt like it was the end of the road, and no one was going to help me.
Then I contacted this company and man old man. I can honestly say they came in the clutch. Hiring Steve Epstein to help me with the many issues that I was facing regarding a very complicated and messy divorce that included a wide array of valuable assets-- a very successful company, multiple homes, expensive cars, dozens of accounts of all types, in addition to his help in regards to custody, a DWI case, being in a 5 week coma, and steering me out of significant life or death substance abuse issues, was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
