this attorney was completely usless in defending me as a 4th dui case in 10yrs. The CHP police report stated I was doing 96 mph on the freeway which is a false statement. I religiously use my cruise control and was using it on the night I was arrested for a dui. I was held down by force by two officers to take my blood. Mr Stotter stated to me that he would keep me out of prison which was a not true. I was sentenced to 2 years in state prison, back in 2010. My Stotter was useless in my case!! Mr Stotter did not, proceed in my case with a complete investigation of the details of my charges. Best you find a good attorney who can represent you further!!

Margarita was supposed to be my Social Security attorney. We signed a contract stating she would be paid when I get approved, out of my back pay. This is standard and normal for Social Security attorneys. Margarita repeatedly used the fact that she hadn't yet been paid as an excuse to not do her job. She is very incompetent, continuously told me to contact Social Security directly even though when you have an attorney, they aren't allowed to speak directly to you and must go through your attorney! She also refused to help me get an appointment rescheduled because she just didn't think that having a previously scheduled appointment at the same time was a "good enough reason" to request a reschedule. When confronted about her incompetence, she just decides to drop the client, because she also lacks integrity. I'm happy to have found much better representation.
ETA: Never screamed at or called anyone anything until after I'd already decided to leave, when Margarita's only and immediate response to being told she isn't doing something right was to end the contract.

I hired David because he seemed to know how to help with our custody case. Well he gave me a complete lie about what he was doing? We had a court hearing over the phone that he told us not to attend, saying there was no reason for it. It's just confirmation about going to court. During this hearing the judge ruled against the defendent and the defendent would not be granted overnights and nothing of overnighta could be adressed in the trial because he was denied and the right paperwork is to be submitted by the the defendent for his overnights to begin, this attorney didn't even notify us. And 3 days later we went to trial unknowingly, Where he questioned the defendent who committed perjury on the stand, because if David had done his job he would of found the paperwork confirming this. And then without notification to the the plaintiff he was representing he gave the defendent the start of overnights. The defendent in our case was to undergo physchiatric help which never happened. Then he was giving 2 overnights causing our case to fumble and the father finally being granted 50/50 since he didn't even defend the false allegations against the plaintiff. I gave this man over 15000 dollars to be ripped off. And lose the child.

Idk how this man and his wonderful staff get it all done so well with such little time in the day. I have referred many people to his office and they all have been grateful that they appointed him. He is also very thorough and will be making sure you do what is necessary to make sure your case is strong and is honest and asks the same of you. He goes above and beyond to explain it all to you and cares about his work and knows it effects people's lives and takes that seriously. All social security attorneys get paid the same fees but not all work as hard as Mr. Bartholomew and his staff. They give it to you straight and don't sugar coat it. Cases go through a lot of steps and take time in the courts, so there's no instant gratification and require patience through the process. He knows the process and is very knowledgeable about the law and is a good person that you can trust to guide you through to winning your case and improving your life. No regrets.

As someone who has personal experience with this office, please do not go here with your SSI case. Once you sign an agreement with them, the communication stops. I would call asking questions about my case and never get a call back. As someone who now understands this process, here are some practical words of advice. 1. Go to Health and Human Services and get a free list of all of the local advocates. 2. Do not hire an attorney unless you have already been denied and are waiting for a hearing with the judge. 3. If you are not due for a hearing yet, Heath and Human Services has people who will help you for FREE that are awesome. 4. If you are the advocate for a disabled person, never let them go into this office alone. Once paperwork is signed, you are stuck with Mr. Bartholomew. The SSI process takes time, but do yourself a favor and do not allow this office to represent you! For further evidence, take the time to read what he says about the people who give him a bad review. I think that says a great deal about the character of this man.

I hired Karen to handle my divorce and custody case back in 6/2015. My case was complicated due to the fact that I have a severely disabled son. My divorce was not final until 2/2018. Karen was always available when I needed her. She attended every court appearance and was professional and well-prepared. She made sure that I maintained ownership of my house and other personal property. Neither of us were happy with the final custody decision in June, 2017. And 3 weeks later when my son turned 18, my ex filed a petition for sole conservatorship of my son in an effort to remove me from my son's life. Incredibly, Karen offered to represent me in conservator court (unfamiliar territory for her). Together, Karen and I navigated through the conservator court system. We went to trial. Karen was up against one of the best probate/conservator attorneys in Shasta County. Karen had previously had the pleasure of 2 trials with my ex, so she knew exactly which buttons to push (big grin). Did I mention that Karen brings her 'A Game' at trial? She is sooo good in trial!!! We finished the conservatorship trial in January, 2018 and in February the judge granted MY petition! I'm truly appreciative of all that Karen has done for me and my son.

Mr carelli, doesn't answer his phone or return calls. He disappears and no way to get him, the only way to see him is in court right before the case is called . Hw has been sent to the bar association and was ordered to complete a client communication course of which he fail the first time and failed to meet his dead line for completion but got away with it stating he gets to many cases out of the draw form the court. If u give him big money u might be ok but if u get him from the draw know your bottom of the list.

Jacob Levin helped me to obtain guardianship of my niece. My case was an unusual situation. Jacob was extremely helpful, he took time to walk me through the process and answer all my questions. I must have called 15 attorneys in the Redding area before I got Jacob's name. None of them were willing to help me, but Jacob did. If you need an attorney you need to call Jacob Levin!

My experience with Jacob Levin as my family court lawyer was mediocre at best. Altho Mr. Levin is very friendly and seemingly empathetic, he did the bare minimum from the beginning, and it got worse as time passed. Jacob Levin did zero follow up on any of the paperwork filings that he was hired to oversee in my case. Eventually he abandoned my case entirely with no warning. Jacob Levin dodged my communication attempts, and refused to follow up until i threatened to report him to the state bar, ultimately leaving me without representation at the last minute. Seeing the trend in his reviews, insult to his performance seem to be the only way to get any effort from him, altho the effort is to defend HIMSELF, not his paying client.
Unless your case is extremely simple and everyone involved is in agreement, i do NOT recommend him for anything that requires time, care, attention to detail, follow up, or follow thru.
Im sure he will have a wonderful defense for himself on here too, which will just further prove my point.
Not showing up for your clients court date is inexcusable. Case closed.

The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude. My husband and I were shushed so she could finish her personal conversation with a colleague. Then when she finally turned to us she said they were not family law and that I must have read a sign that said NOT family law before I can in and misread it. Then provost give me a nasty fake smile telling me where I needed to go, pointed at the wall at something and that was it. Very half assed and rude. Find someone with a friendly demeanor for your front desk when people come in need of help.

omg james gave me the wrong advice on a unlawful, detainer, case I told him it should’ve been retaliation and that’s what it should have been I lost because of it being about habitability and not retaliation he didn’t check retaliation box so now I’m being kicked out and they won’t appeal it when I had a minor stroke during the court proceedings and could not understand what was going on. I thought legal services were supposed to help that disabled not put him in a hole deeper. go with your gut if you’re instinct tell you something different than legal services are you’ll end up homeless

Of particular importance, she helped me understand the difference between what I wanted and thought was fair, based on what I read about California family law, and what were likely outcomes given the reality of California family law and the family law system in Shasta county. I was very impressed by Carmel’s ability to maintain her integrity, composure, and good humor despite the difficulties of this flawed system and the challenges of dealing with opponents who are willing to sacrifice their integrity and constantly mislead the court to gain an advantage. On numerous occasions he had no clue what he was doing or filling on her behalf and never asked or objected on her behalf while in court. I would not recommend Ms. Ayers, as her approach tends to emphasize her clients’ flaws rather than serving as a professional buffer to support their reputation and credibility.
She represented my co-parent, and while interacting with her was unpleasant, her conduct ultimately worked in my favor. Allow me to explain:
Ms. Ayers frequently resorted to unprofessional conduct, including rolling her eyes, using sarcastic tones, interrupting proceedings, displaying visible signs of disdain, and arriving to hearings and trials disheveled and unkempt, which negatively affected her client’s reputation in court.
Rather than focusing on facts and evidence, she presented unsupported arguments, using accusations that were easily refuted. This approach lacked substance and contributed to her client appearing unprepared and untrustworthy.
Although Ms. Ayres may validate her clients’ feelings, her strategies tend to escalate conflict and discourage cooperation, even on minor matters. Her approach highlighted her client’s high-conflict and non-communicative tendencies, making the difficulties I faced in co-parenting more apparent to the court.
In contrast, my own attorney provided clear and realistic expectations, fostering a sense of cooperation and professionalism. His advice gave me accurate information to make reasonable requests.
Navigating family law is complex, and a capable attorney should guide their client with balanced advice and reliable information to support sound decisions and long-term solutions.

The Supreme Court Just Struck a Huge, Unanimous Blow Against " Policing for Profit"
The Supreme Court struck an extraordinary blow for criminal justice reform on Wednesday, (ruling it to be Unconstitutional) placing real limitations on policing for profit across the country. Its unanimous decision for the first time prohibits all 50 states from imposing excessive fines, including the seizure of property, on people accused or convicted of a crime. Rarely does the court hand down a ruling of such constitutional magnitude—and seldom do all nine justices agree to restrict the power that police and prosecutors exert over individuals. The landmark decision represents a broad agreement on the Supreme Court that law enforcement’s legalized theft has gone too far.

a District Attorney (DA) or Police Department is on the "Brady list," it means that they have a record of officers or prosecutors with a history of dishonesty, misconduct, or credibility issues, which requires them to disclose this information to the defense in a criminal case if any of these individuals are involved in the investigation or prosecution, due to a legal precedent set by the Supreme Court case "Brady v. Maryland.
The term "Brady" comes from the landmark Supreme Court case "Brady v. Maryland," which established the legal requirement that prosecutors must disclose exculpatory evidence (evidence that could help the defendant) to the defense, including information that could impeach the credibility of a witness like a police officer.
Who can be on the list:
Police officers, prosecutors, and other law enforcement personnel can be placed on the Brady list if they have a history of lying under oath, fabricating evidence, excessive force, or other serious misconduct that could affect their credibility as a witness.
Why it's important:
When a prosecutor is aware that an officer is on the Brady list, they must inform the defense attorney if that officer is involved in a case, allowing the defense to challenge the officer's testimony based on their past misconduct.

If anyone has been wrongfully charged with a crime they didn't commit , go directly to the "Brady list "website , type in Shasta DA Brady list, for police Type in Redding Police Department Brady list , the whole list of the amount of bad cops they hired is disgusting , and it's a safety risk for citizens in our community to have bad cops doing more harm than they are doing good .including the chief who is on that list too and file a complaint. That goes down the DA and Redding Police . They need to be exposed.
