About 3 years ago, my husband and I had the misfortune of moving to an apartment in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood. Our new landlord seemed nice enough. What he failed to disclose upon our moving in was a raging bedbug and roach infestation, among other things.
If you are an excellent tenant and you have a landlord that repeatedly fails to repair the inhabitable conditions within your unit, attys McDonald Greenstein get results. It was a fellow tenant that provided me with Mr. Greenstein's information. Never in a million years did I envision a time when I would need to resort to this type of action.
My only comments regarding this firm and the overall process of this type of case would have to do with the amount of time it took to actually get the ball rolling. The length of time from my first meeting with Ken and my deposition was about 2 years. In my initial meeting with Ken, he estimated a year.
A small complaint for such good results.

I contacted Tom LoSavio via telephone following a response to my Avvo question he provided. I am located in New York, and had a matter pending in California. I cannot commend or thank him enough! Tom returned my call promptly after I left him a voicemail message introducing myself, and spent forty minutes on the phone with me! He was personable, easy to speak with and incredibly knowledgable. We discussed my legal matter in depth, he addressed my concerns with clear and concise explanations and reasoning and provided very sound legal advice. He addressed alternative ways to handle the matter, as well, laying out all options and possibilities. We discussed a plan of action for me to take since, in his professional opinion, intervention by counsel was not yet appropriate at this time due to the very specific facts and circumstances of the situation. Furthermore, Tom kindly and quite generously offered to further consult with me in the future and review any correspondence I prepare in the course of resolution of this matter. When I started my new business providing contract paralegal services for attorneys I hired Rose-Ellen to help me with my contract for services. As a paralegal I'm pretty familiar with contacts but I know that there are some things you DIY and some things you pay a lawyer to do. This required a seasoned business attorney to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. It really is true that you "don't know what you don't know". Rose-Ellen brought up several things that I had not thought of which saved me from making some potentially critical mistakes with my new clients.
Rose-Ellen really knows her stuff. She was prompt, easy to work with and her billing was fair and reasonable. I have recommended her to my husband's company and I will recommend her to any other small business.

Miriam Hiser represented me in a dispute with a large developer of an adjacent property. Ms. Morris treated my case with care and intelligence. She was able to speak on my behalf and take the emotion out of the situation to reveal that obviously and logically I needed to be reimbursed by the other side for damages. Emily & Mike Kelly of her firm represented me after I survived falling out a 4th floor Bay Area hotel room window four years ago.
They visited me in a local hospital & injury rehab center, stayed in touch via phone & e-mail after I returned home to Florida, brought together a first-rate team of expert witnesses and guided me through the sometimes confounding and confusing California personal injury litigation process.
Client management isn't a class in any law school that I know of and it can be tricky to handle a client whose friends have called him a "victim of terminal candor", but Emily and Mike did it well. Emily went so far as to "friend" me on Facebook and make sure I didn't post anything that could hurt the case.

I recently recieved my second D.U.I. After many hours of stressful research and going through the many attorney letters I recieved in the mail I decided Mark Blairs Law Office was the correct route for me. Tamara was referred to me by a friend who was a partner at a huge national firm -- I was starting a new venture and needed some help with an acquisition deal, and, as a start-up/small business, I couldn't afford the services of my friend at big-ticket-law. He immediately thought of Tamara -- he'd worked on the other side of a matter with her and had been impressed with her skills, knowledge and business model (as an independent) and how well that worked for small cos, startups, etc.
Tamara helped me prepare the acquisition contract, helping me understand the pros/cons of different approaches and the risks associated with specific language the other party wanted to use. She allowed me to do much of the drafting myself -- providing guardrails but also allowing me to save my scarce startup funds.
Her advice proved invaluable later, when it was revealed that the seller presented false information in their disclosures, and I was able to avoid paying a big chunk of the acquisition cost.
I have referred Tamara when I've had the opportunity and would happily work with her again if I had a similar legal need.
Note, Tamara also does a lot of work in Europe -- apparently she's spending much of her time there now -- and I haven't had the opportunity to take advantage of her international expertise. But, I can only assume she approaches that aspect of her business with the diligence and professionalism she brought to my (relatively small) matter.
Also worth noting that Tamara is super-friendly and down-to-earth, and you never once get the feeling she might over-charge you (the opposite, in fact). My only minor complaint is that she was so in-demand, it was sometimes slightly hard to reach her (although never when it really counted).

I have consulted with Gary Sheth for Immigration assignments for my Firm since 2001 and can confirm the excellent service provided by his office. Immigration is a complex subject and requires extremely close consultation between the Attorney and Client to ensure that all issues have been covered.
In both Telephone consultation as well as Email correspondence, I have found the service to be both knowledgable and precise with subsequent succesful results in 100% of the cases.
Responses to Email and Telephone queries were dealt with the same or next day and written submissions followed very shortly. In cases where Research was required, the necessary response was provided within a week together with an implementation strategy to fit the research conclusions.
The cases that we dealt with involved preparation and application for L 1 A and H1B Visas and Green Cards. We were also very pleased with follow through information on the progress of the Application and responses to RFI's,
In one particular instance the Appeal process to an Immigration decision was also dealt with after researching issues very expeditiously.
Our Business requires frequent responses to commercial and market based options and intrepretation of Immigration law with respect to these options and I have found Gary to be both knowledgable and able to simplify and explain complex issues.
Professional fees and charges were very definitely related to the value of advice, potential cost savings or Research conclusions and I had no problem at all with the overall level or break down of fees.
