I was wrongfully sued by a former contractor who had helped build my house. Richard was indispensable in helping me WIN that case. Instead of BSing around in arbitration, my case was transferred to superior court, where the judge found for me, WITH PREJUDICE. How often does THAT happen??? I intend to use Richard again, soon, to help me get all my assets into a revocable living trust, because I want a very specific line of beneficiaries prioritized in a bit of a non-traditional way, and I know Richard can provide more than the boiler-plate forms so I can rest easy that my estate will be properly distributed.

Worst lawyer I have ever dealt with, overcharged for minimal work.
I even had to locate the applicable case law for him. Of some of the work product produced I ended up throwing a majority out as it was completely unusable before i fired him I found an another lawyer for literally a fraction of the price
While working with him he refused to bring my demands to the opposing side claiming they were "unreasonable", Oddly enough when the case was settled they approached me offering, If not exceeding, what he refused to present. Could've save thousands of dollars has Richard Paris presented my demands when requested

in 1996 I was referred to Ms. Brown by several medically retired L.E. Officers. I was going through hell with my city on Worker's Comp, that's until I retained Ms. Brown, everything then did a complete 180 degree I didn't feel any longer stressed about my medical benefits or the city's workers comp. trying to do their best not to give benefits and at one point forcing me to retire. When I say she is no nonsense, she looked at my file and told me; She's never seen a more accident prone person in my profession this was right in front of my wife too. She was even more aggressive and truly professional when dealing with the city and it's workers comp carrier.
I did have to retire but on my terms and she made sure I was taken care of 100% medically afterwards. I recommend her without a doubt to any public safety person in need of an Excellent WC attorney!

Her protection of law enforcement and fire personnel is great.
When you are faced with a disabliliy, loss of your chosen profession, loss of your life-style and retirement, Linda is the one-friend you can count on.
The "Defense" can hire a team of lawyers, claim administrators, private investigators and so-called medical experts. You, the injured person, can only count of one person. In my case, that was Linda , ...and I didn't make a bad choice. She will watch out for you and your rights, when everyone else has turned against you. Linda saved me a lot of grief.
Linda is up on the current law changes, and legal requirements. With all the changes in California, law enforcement officer need a smart attorney.
Additionally, Linda does not let the large defense firm push you around. She would submit items to me, before I would ask for them.
My case was involved and a total mess, but Ms. Brown took control and watched out for her client. Thanks Linda.

I interviewed a dozen or so franchise attorneys before going with Rob. After our first chat, I knew I wanted to work with him - he wasn't pushy and really just wanted to give me sound advice from the start. It was so refreshing to work with someone who was really genuine and thoughtful.
Now back to his work. We were new to franchising but not new to business - in fact, our team has a few serial entrepreneurs. That said, we knew enough to know that we needed an expert to guide us through this process as franchising is a completely different ballgame. We engaged Rob from the beginning of the process (reviewing our FDD) to final execution of our franchise agreements. Here's what I liked most about Rob:
1. He was SHARP on details - Rob pointed out a number (and I mean a lot) of issues that we needed to address. Franchise agreements are really setup to be one-sided in favor of the franchisor and Rob helped us navigate through many onerous terms to either eradicate or shape them to be more favorable.
2. He was very PRAGMATIC - Rob did a good job of reviewing our agreements and coming up with a good game plan for negotiations. Some attorneys will fight tooth and nail for an all or none solution - this rarely ends up favorable for anyone. In fact, in my experience, this will likely end up with the client walking away from the deal with a lot of attorney's hours. NOT Rob, he respected everyone's time and our budget. He helped us figure out the best approach to getting a deal done.
3. He was EXTREMELY EASY TO WORK WITH - I work with many attorneys across different industries and I can easily say that Rob would be one of the friendliest. One of the challenges I faced talking to other franchise attorney's was that they were very "unapproachable" - almost giving the sentiment that I should be lucky to get their time. Not Rob, whenever we spoke, it was all about me and what I needed - no condescending tone.
Going into any new venture can be kind of scary. With Rob, we felt very confident the whole way through. We continue to work with Rob today and would gladly give him a glowing recommendation.

Our adult son was hit by a car while on vacation in San Rafael CA. We recieved the call the night before Thanksgiving 2022. We flew from MPLS to San Fransisco and got to the hospital where our son was. He was injured badly, after emergency brain surgery he was placed in a medically induced coma he woke up after three day's. We decided as a family to contact an attorney. We contacted Kuvara Law firm and talked with Colby. Colby assured us that the only interest she had was the well being of our son. I was an innocent consumer victim of the anti-consumer practices of Chicago Title and RFC (an arm of the Bank of Chicago). The Sturdevant Law Firm fought for my rights as a consumer and the rights of other victimized consumers, winning a class-action settlement in our favor and sending a clear message to the real estate industry that consumers rights under federal and state law must not be violated. My case was back dated almost 2 years, which got very frustrating for me. There were many continuances, due to covid, and some I think were strategic. He charges a very fair rate (for misdemeanor crimes at least). In my opinion he is a very good lawyer and should hire a legal staff that will be able to 'do the little things' for him. Sometimes I felt like I had to remind him of certain things. But he's busy so I get it. All in all, Mr. Pickett is a very good lawyer and worth the money. He was able to get me a very favorable outcome to my case, given the multiple misdemeanor charges/cases I was facing. He will fight for you until the very end!
