Although my first inclination is never to hire a lawyer, in several instances it was absolutely necessary and I always found David to be responsive, knowledgeable, and timely. In dealing with the other side, he was always respectful and treated them fairly, but firmly as I would have wanted. I heartily recommend him and his services.

Kris is the consummate professional. Through her effective communication style and strategic approach she brings a combination of deep legal knowledge and experience with a high degree of client service. Kris not only provides direction down the path but she illuminates the way during the darkest moments. She is a leader and a partner. We were introduced to Kris Costello and her firm by our General Counsel to help us through a complicated employee/shareholder legal dispute with a former employee. The arguments he raised covered a broad spectrum of concerns. Each of these complex issues exposed our company to significant potential costs. While we believed we had provided an equitable and fair offer to terminate our relationship, one that in our view was compliant with the various governance documents of the company, the former employee/shareholder sought additional compensation and hired an aggressive firm to pursue his claims. Within minutes of being introduced to Kris and providing an overview of our situation, her organization skills and tenacity came through; we would soon learn the depth of her legal knowledge. Very quickly Kris was able to compartmentalize and articulate the issues back to us in a manner that we could understand and digest. She has clearly been through this type of situation many, many times before and swiftly connected the dots. Perhaps just as important was her ability to connect with us. We were frustrated and angry with this situation; Kris validated our feeling without patronizing us and made it clear that she would fight for us. Over the ensuing months Kris did exactly that - she fought for us. There were numerous rounds of demands from his lawyer and push back from our side. Kris and her team responded to each demand letter, always angling our position for a strong defense should this argument end up in court. Each carefully worded response was supported by thorough research. It was this research coupled with Kris' experience and fundamental knowledge of the law and "how the system works" that ultimately won the day. Over this period Kris had strategically guided these discussions to limit our exposure while directing us toward an offensive position. When the legal precedence supporting our position came through the Court in an unrelated case, we were ready to push back one final time. In the end, after working through these issues for over a year, we were able to reach a positive outcome without having to go through an expensive trial. Kris' stewardship, determination and legal prowess carried us through this difficult process providing a positive outcome for our company. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Kris and greatly appreciate her intelligence, work ethic and down to earthy personality. She is a real pleasure.

In Feb of 2014, I hired Ms Kris Costello to represent me on a felony DV charge. Ms Costello had advertised a rate of $7,000.00 but charged roughly $50,000.00 without explanation. She also never told me she was too busy working on other cases to take on mine. She kept postponing my right to a speedy trial for her own convenience. This wound up costing me a great deal of money and lost profits from stocks I had to sell in order to pay her, and meet my living expenses. She did not conduct a proper investigation, and never interviewed my 19 year old daughter who's was my primary accuser. A competent lawyer would have done so, and exposed the truth. After meeting my wife in the presence of her attorney at Ms. Costello's office, Ms. Costello recommended I take a plea deal because she claimed my wife came across as unstable, and that this would work against me at trail. She also claimed it would be more cost effective for me and my family finances. After the NCO was lifted, I found neither case was true. In short, I reluctantly accepted the plea deal. When I arrived in court, Ms. Costello showed me a piece of paper in which I was also to plead that "these things are true". She never discussed what "these things" were with me at any point before my plea. The only thing she said to me (while waiting in the courtroom to see the judge) was if I kept my mouth shut, then I would get to have unrestricted access to my 9 year old son. So, when the judge ask me if I had read and understood "these things are true", I lied to him upon her advice, and said yes. After hiring another attorney to review Ms Costello's work, I discovered that all of the things I pleaded "true" were lies. This included a lie by the DA that I had violated the NCO, and for which I was rearrested in lieu of $250,000.00 bail 2 days after my February 2014 arrest. I finally hired another lawyer several months and tens of thousands of dollars later to clean up Ms. Costello's mess, get the NCO entirely lifted, and reunite with my wife. On that day in court I learned that the NCO was still in effect with my 9 year old son, and that every moment I was with him I was subject to rearrest. Fortunately, this did not happen.

I really appreciated Gregg's ability to maneuver in my complex divorce and custody case. He was direct, professional, and absolutely caring throughout the process. He made certain that I understood all the choices and processes during the almost year-long case. Through his persistence and patience, I am now able to see my kids far more often than I thought I'd be able to, and I've been able to work with my ex on a well-structured long-distance parenting plan. I am truly grateful for not only what he did for me, but how he has helped my two young children get the resources they need too.

I hired Ms. Veliz in September of 2017 to handle my case involving IRS debt from my ex-husband, as well as debt from the marriage I was unaware of. She came in confident stating how many cases she had one previously in the Innocent Spouse area. She did not guarentee we would win, but that she would fight for me. I gave her every bit of detailed information ever requested immediately upon request. I would not hear from her for days. There were vacations and out of offices. All the while my future hung in the balance. I felt no sense of urgency on her part. I ultimately lost my case. She found out the Thursday prior to Labor Day weekend of 2018. She did not inform me until an 5 days later. When we discussed this, she replied she was too upset with the outcome to be able to discuss it. My take is that she simply wanted to cut out for a long weekend early. What further struck me was after losing my Innocent Spouse case, she tried selling me on appealing it. After months of anxiety and paying an attorney, I was exhausted and wanted it over. Once she knew there was no more money to be had from me as a client, she got off the phone as quickly as possible. No empathy, no parting remarks. I felt like I gave my trust and money to the wrong person. Looking back on her big elaborate office, it made sense. I do not believe she is out for justice for her clients, she is out to make money, pure and simple. Unfortunately for me, I did not do deep enough homework, or I would have never wasted my time or money on an attorney that is not fighting for my best interest.

Sandra has helped me resolve my tax issue with the IRS. I never had an issue with the IRS before. I was quite anxious when I received notice from them. She used to work for the IRS and was able to explain how the whole process works. She offered a few suggestions to tackle my tax situation. I decided to go with plan A and was able to get my tax situation resolved after the 1st try. She was great to work with and was able to put me at ease. I cannot say enough good things about Sandra. Anyone with IRS related issues should definitely consider hiring her.

After a 3 1/2 year on going audit and working with two seperate attorneys who did NOTHING to represent me, I was referred to Sandra. She took charge, got the ball moving, kept me informed and did an excellent job navigating my case out of court and back into a settlement with an appeals officer. I could not be happier with my results and the professional working relationship I developed with Sandra along with the way. The person who recommended her to me was my accountant and he stated that he had been referring this firm for over 20 years with great success. My outcome was better then I expected and I now tell my friends and family that hiring Sandra was one of the smartest investment I have ever made. She was fair in her billing and cautious of my budget and financial needs. I spent thousands of dollars on other attorney's and was so relieved when I fianally found Sandra.

I have had an excellent experience with CCL and Ms. Choi in the matter of a complicated easement / title situation. The office staff was super responsive, appointments were scheduled quickly and in collaboration with my schedule/availability, and the meetings I had with Ms. Choi were focused, organized, and super productive. I felt that Ms. Choi was prepared for the meetings, understood what I was dealing with, and discussed with me multiple options and potential outcomes regarding this legal matter, which is going to end up in Court. I could not have asked for a better attorney for my situation (and I have consulted with others prior to CCL) and I very much look forward to my ongoing work with CCL and Ms. Choi. I recommend CCL and Ms. Choi wholeheartedly!

Unfortunately, during our reunion, she seemed more focused on protecting herself than genuinely assisting me. However, when I attended my USCIS appointment today, everything was in order, and the concerns she raised did not materialize. It was a stressful experience unnecessarily.

I did not have a good experience with the law firm. My main issues is that Boyoon Choi would repeatedly interrupt me and cut me off before I could finish speaking and there were some mannerisms like scoffing (in a subtle but noticeable way) that came off as pretty condescending and I received a general negative feeling from the tone of voice she used with me. She was also 6 minutes late to our Zoom meeting but cut our 30 minute meeting short nonetheless so we really only had 24 minutes together. I'm sure she would probably bill the time for 30 minutes to my MetLife benefits and not the 24 minutes that I actually got. The way I see it, if a client does not have the correct understanding then inform them in a respectful way. Trying to be subtle with mannerisms like quietly scoffing or responding with a negative tone, one that felt a bit indignant towards me feels less like you're working with someone that's trying to advocate for you and more like you're talking to someone that's trying to take out whatever stress she may be having towards you. It seems that no wonder her staff seems to sound a bit on edge over the phone as I can imagine what it can be like to be subjected to that over time. She also knew that my home is in Snohomish County but told me that she can't help with the eviction process in that area, but took my money through my MetLife benefit anyway. That's pretty messed up. Lastly, I also felt it was problematic to be told that she did not know the RCW that covered why a 90 day notice to vacate due to sale is not enforceable unless it is specifically mentioned in the lease agreement. When I requested clarification for her to specify how is this the case, she could only tell me it's part of the general landlord tenant rights that a lease agreement has to specify that an early termination can take place due to sale and that this language would not be specifically mentioned due to it being covered under the general umbrella of tenant rights. However, RCW 59.18.650 clearly states it's permissible for a landlord to end a lease agreement early with cause for the purpose of selling a home. Boyoon Choi should really be careful with giving advice that she clearly does not know the basis for. It is concerning when you ask for the RCW that she does not know it, and scoffs at you while mentioning it's part of the general rights for a tenant. Anyways, here is what I was told by another source about the permissibility of ending a lease early to sell the home: In Washington State, typically, if a landlord provides a 90-day notice to vacate for the purpose of selling the property, this is generally considered lawful. In Washington State, the enforceability of a 90-day notice to vacate due to the sale of a property typically does not require a specific clause in the lease agreement stating that sale of the home entails the tenant moving out. The standard process allows landlords to issue such a notice as part of the rights to dispose of their property, assuming other legal and procedural requirements are met (e.g., proper notice period and service). Lastly, she was also incorrect about my MetLife legal benefit. She said I don't have benefits for litigation as part of my benefit but in my MetLife portal it clearly states: "This service covers the Participant as a landlord for matters involving leases, security deposits and disputes with a residential tenant. The service includes attorney services for the eviction of a tenant up to and including trial."

Among life’s mistakes, I’ve made some doozies. The second biggest one? Hiring Christopher Rao of Beacon Attorneys. While skiing in 2017, I suffered a traumatic brain injury. Months later in his waiting room, I pondered Christopher’s vintage photo of a train wreck. A jaded metaphor for my once-hopeful marriage? — no, this was about what I still had coming. Christopher presented his credentials. Graduated from Harvard… specialized in game theory… leader of the county bar association’s family law section… he’s in my neighborhood… How could I go wrong? After I retained Christopher, I learned he’d recently fallen out with his legal partner (hence the name change from “Rao and Pierce”). In the transition, the support staff were in flux and disarray. Early on, his team neglected to file critical documents. They made an embarrassing factual error about my son. To my repeated requests they were often nonresponsive. I harangued them to complete my will. Throughout, we let opposing counsel drive a simplistic narrative. “We’re keeping our powder dry”, Christopher would tell me. He did object to the judge about OC’s page counts… Our court orders? all drafted by OC. We lost and we lost, and each time Christopher declared some small victory. And he’d regularly criticize me. “I’m tough on my clients”, he’d tell me. Regularly I wondered if I’d hired an adversary, not an advocate. From other reviewers I’m seeing I’m not alone in this. Two years and about $100K later we withdrew, and Christopher’s long-suffering assistant wrote me, “Thank you for being you, for being kind, caring and never being afraid to express your emotions. You will always be one of my favorite clients.” Divorce is already too traumatic. Much as I empathize with his staff, I suggest that you avoid Christopher Rao.

I have found he has given me excellent service, and those of the people I’ve referred to him. If he did not have the expertise, then he would refer me to an attorney that he personally knew, that had the expertise. I do not hesitate in recommending his law firm.

Mr. Bartlett's treatment of me was disappointing. He spent the majority of the time with the opposing party and after he ran out of time he rudely threw the draft of the agreement on the table in front of me, left the room irritated. I do not feel Mr. Bartlett performed an propriately balanced mediation. Also Mr. Bartlett's assistant conveyed to me that "Mr. Bartlett cannot consider any material that is not submitted to the other party" however he did read, comunicated and considered the opposing party's email, I never received a copy of the email. When I submitted the papers for Mr. Bartlett I received a note from his assistant reminding me the policy but when the opposing party sends an email, Mr. Bartlett not only receives it but states he will us charge for it.

Mr. Arcala was very professional in every aspect of being a lawyer. He always responded within reasonable time. Knowlegeable? He definitely deserve that license. She is money motivated ONLY ! I can’t express how she mishandled and fumbled my case. I spent 10’s ($48,000 to be exact) of thousands of dollars only to be in a worse place than before due to her lack of preparation and knowledge of a case. Despite being hired through multiple motions. She failed communicate on multiple times to a judge a clear cut and dry case of contempt. She wanted to settle the parenting plan which was not in my favor. It was like she worked for or knew the opposing council. She was outsmarted and out witted in all aspects against the opposing council.

Dylana Jones of Wakefield Legal was an excellent (and triumphant) advocate for me regarding a particularly challenging DVPO case involving a narcissistic abuser with a JD. She is kind, responsive, sympathetic and genuine beyond being highly skilled and capable in many areas. 10/10 Highly recommend.

I arranged a meeting with her to discuss immigration matters and seek professional validation of the process I had completed on my own.

I am an attorney, and my son (15) has Down Syndrome. After two years of dealing with our district I was completely defeated. Lara and her team were recommended to my family through special ed networks, and I was overwhelmed when I asked for help. I felt like I had failed my child. Lara and her team, are quite remarkable, I feel like from the moment we met they knew where I was, where my son was, they were fully prepared with having reviewed all my sons IEP's, testing, and prior written notices. Lara and her team were able to write a pre litigation demand letter, and we achieved our goals so quickly. My son is thriving in a way that I felt was impossible last year at this time. I will not hesitate again to reach out and ask for help. Thank you over and over again!

I am an attorney but an issue came up outside my area of expertise and I needed an urgent consult with an education attorney. Lara responded very quickly to my (rather panicked) voicemail and listened with kindness. She was able to quickly unpack the relevant issues and give me concise, helpful advice that resulted in a good outcome. I offered to pay but she waived the consult fee because we were able to keep it short. This was not a professional favor- she did not know me or that I was an attorney before we spoke- she was just genuinely being kind. I left the call with a clear plan of what I needed to do. Had her advice not worked out right away I would have hired her to assist us in carrying the issue forward. She is clearly knowledgable and I cannot say enough about how helpful even a little of her advice was.

Our experience with Lara was awful! She told us a bunch of things when we started working with her that turn out not to be true. When she started with us she said she would be with us, supporting us the whole time. But when we needed her she wouldn't return our phone calls. She basically treated us like a piggy bank and tried to get the most money for the least amount of work. Basically every trope about ambulance chasing attorneys describe Lara. In my professional career I have worked with many attorneys and Lara is hands down the worst I have had the unfortunate opportunity to work with.

Picking Dakota was the worst decision I made in regards to my divorce. Completely unprofessional. He literally was writing down what he was going to say while waiting for my hearing to begin. Even though I had ample evidence against my ex-spouse, Dakota didn't use any of it, and recommended that I try to avoid going to trial, even if it meant less custody. I honestly think I could have done a better job myself. Ended up paying over $20,000 for essentially some basic filing and filling out of paperwork. I hope this review can save someone else from making the same mistake I did in hiring Dakota.

Do not use Joel Bradshaw to be the lawyer for a irrevocable trust. The trustee would not give an accounting or bank statements and receipts to the beneficiaries, which is required by law, and Joel Bradshaw defended the trustee instead of the beneficiaries. He must not have informed the trustee of the law. The law requires the trustee to look out for the best interest of the beneficiaries not use the trust money in whatever way they please. Mr. Bradshaw also told beneficiaries the trustee could not produce the bank statements because they were in "storage". I guess he never heard of "online banking".

My decision to hire and work with Aaron was based on my need for an attorney who could clearly guide me through an employment law case with many facets. Because the case involved former employees, government agencies, and issues of indemnification, I needed an attorney who would be very conscientious of each decisions impact on the next stage of the case. I found Aaron's work to be well-researched, his decision making guidance useful and his court room presence reassuring. I highly recommend Aaron and his staff.

I decided to go with a public defender this time since hired attorneys have not done the trick for me. Brandt was very professional and knowledgeable and seemed to know exactly what we should do. The prosecutor originally asked for 5 days jail time and somehow I ended up getting only 3 days of work crew and one year probation . I don't think a $5000 lawyer could have done any better. The only problems that I have had is the communication responding back to my calls. I know that public defenders are extremely busy with huge amounts of clients and workloads but a phone call before the big court date would've been nice to let me know our stance. Once we were at the court house he was very easy to work with. I also have tried calling his office and left messages with very little success on getting a call returned. All in all I think Brandt does great while he is at the courts speaking with you directly. He lets you know in simple and easy to understand terms what is going on and what the possibilities may be. Wish the communication was better but understandable. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a good public defender.

Greg Esau represented me in a custody case almost 10 years ago. Greg would constantly provide me with conflicting advise about what would be a reasonable outcome of my case. Multiple times when preparing for mediation sessions, he would tell me that a reasonable outcome and our goal for the mediation was X, only to tell me that I would be lucky to get Y shortly after the mediation session began. He would then tell me that I was unreasonable to expect X in a way that came across as condescending and gave the impression that the opposing party and their counsel was more reasonable than me or what we had agreed was our desired outcome. This left me feeling off-balance and confused throughout the mediation sessions. Additionally, now being more knowledgeable about family law in Washington state and working with other (better) representation, I recognize that Greg advised me to accept a deal that fell far short of what would have been a reasonable outcome given the circumstances of my case. He was also severely lacking in motivation. While the opposing representation kept detailed notes and spent considerable time and effort to develop and adjust offers, Greg literally sat back in his chair and let the opposing counsel completely take the lead in all of our mediation sessions. I only found out years later that Greg had been disciplined multiple times in WA and CA, and ultimately was disbarred in CA. Selecting excellent representation for your family law case is one of the most important decisions of your life. Please, please, please do what is best for yourself, your children, and your family and steer clear of Greg.

For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.

Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:

  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
