Brian Danzig has worked on many cases for our company. We have been very pleased with his professionalism and range. We are an international company with many business complexities. We appreciate that he is always looking for a long term win for our company rather than having us engage in non productive pursuits. He has made himself available at all times of the day and over the weekend as well - when we required his guidance and input. We have worked with many attorneys and Brian Danzig is the best professional that we have had the pleasure to work with since the inception of our company. BTW I came across this site via google and this endorsement is spontaneous.

Jayson helped me out on two occasions: first with a real estate deal gone awry, and then with some personal affairs. I found Jayson to be competent, efficient, and reasonably priced. Jayson was easy-going and took a no-nonsense approach to get my issues resolved. I highly recommend him.

Brett has been very helpful with a wide variety of situations, but especially with contract negotiations and dispute resolutions. Regarding disputes, he is always very well prepared and has a knack for being firm without burning bridges with the other party. As a litigator, he has a good handle on what will or won't stand up in court, so we are always able to realistically assess our risks. Regarding negotiations, he is adept at adding protective language without killing the deal. He knows what's worth fighting for and what you can just let go. His fees are always reasonable without a bunch of fluff, and he's easy to work with.

I worked with Ms.Phelan in the late 80's on a bankruptcy. She was kind, non-judgmental and made the whole thing really painless even tho I found it a humiliating situation. The process was quick and easy with Judith's help. She is excellent at what she does and has so much experience that she has it down to easy steps for her clients and just guides you through it. I'm glad she is still in business because now i need her help again. A Great lawyer!!!

Top notch. The lawyer you would want in the Seattle area if you need one. I found him available -- always returned my calls right away. The process can be an intimidating one, but he explains everything clearly and you won't feel surprised. His experience as a criminal defense attorney is evident in the way he handles himself before the court. I'd call him well prepared.

Juanita helped me with a DV case. I had spoke with a few attorneys beforehand and none were able to clear give me answers to my basic questions about the case and the game plan going forward. Possibly since for the most part since the case was rather simple and not a big moneymaker some of the other attorneys did not show extreme interest. When I first met with Juanita our conversation was simple yet focused, she listened attentively and then gave her opinion along with her plan for going forward. She was responsive and kept me informed with all the changes even without me asking, which speaks volumes to me about her concern and dedication. In the end we were able to get a favorable outcome. So all in all I would recommend Juanita to anyone needed legal assistance in her area of practice.

I got to Lisa Reed's office through a recommendation and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. My case like so many others I assume was quite messy and stressful (divorce with three small children), Lisa was amazing from the beginning walked me through all of the steps and was incredibly thorough through the entire process. Not only is Lisa great at what she does but her office is incredible. Everyone in her office works as a team to communicate what is needed, what is going on, etc. I found Lisa to not be a very intelligent Attorney, she was also incredibly courteous, attentive and concerned about my needs and always put me at ease. I would definitely recommend her to anyone dealing with a family law case!

Mr. Dan Bridges represented a family member in a personal injury matter over the past three years. Without getting into too much detail, I want you to know how kind, logical and respectful he is and that I do not believe there is another attorney around that could have done a better job. What impressed me the most was his ability to use strong logic in his argument of the case, which ended up settling very favorably for our family member. We were extremely impressed with his ability, professionalism, and would recommend him to anyone who is in need of an attorney.

Mr. Moore handled our daughter's auto accident a few years ago. He is the best. He does his research and will never settle with an insurance company until his client is taken care of. He kept us informed at all times and was beyond knowledgeable! A more than fair settlement was reached and we couldn't have done it without him.

Not only did Lindsay settle my divorce, but she was also compassionate and caring to me as my ex tried to humiliate me in every way he could. If you want an attorney who actually cares about you as a human, I recommend Lindsay

Ms. Morin is a very capable attorney in the area of water rights. In addition to her skills and experience, Ms. Morin has a practical orientation, providing the type of real-world advice most clients need. While some attorneys never want to give a strong opinion amidst uncertainty (presumably for fear of being wrong later), Ms. Morin is willing to go out on a limb and state her opinion when appropriate and when helpful to the client. If you need advice on water rights, Ms. Morin is a great choice.

I was brought into court for a criminal matter that I was 100% guilty of. I did not have an attorney when I arrived and Joseph was acting on behalf of the Public Defender's office. He was my first contact within the court and I was immediatly taken back with how friendly, professional, and calming he was. I was humiliated at what I had done, but Joseph took a moment and told me to breathe, said it would be OK, and really just made me feel better about the situation I put myself in. He did not judge me or make me feel worthless and embarrassed. His attitude was all about how people screw up and he was there to help me achieve the best possible result from my own mistakes. I knew I would not qualify for public defender so I reached out to his office at Feldman and Lee to see if I could hire them as my attorney. My only request was that Joseph Jordan represent me. They agreed and I retained him as my lawyer. The entire process could have been awful and I could and should have been looking at serious punishment. Joseph negotiated on my behalf, worked with me on steps I could take, and in the end actually got the entire case deffered. I am amazed that this outcome actually happened based on my history and how guilty I was. He took the time to listen, to respond, and also to go to bat for me when no one else would. He was careful to not over promise, but had a way of making me feel much better when things got scary. I am very thankful for his service and for the way he treated me from start to finish. Although I enjoyed him, I hope I never see him again. If you need an attorney that will fight for you, and one who actually cares, then I have no problem communicating my excellent results while working with Joseph Jordan.

I recently worked with Cory on a tax appeal and was very impressed with her work (our appeal was successful!). Cory understood the issues faced by our small business, and worked with us to develop a strategy that was practical and efficient. She took the initiative to obtain public records relating to the case, which uncovered some very helpful evidence. She thoroughly researched the legal issues and was happy to collaborate with us, incorporating our feedback and ideas. She was always very responsive to our questions and concerns. She is a nice and friendly person, which makes her very easy to work with. I would strongly recommend working with Cory.

Not only did he expertly answer those questions, but he went beyond the things I was thinking about and gave possible scenarios that turned out to be exactly what happened. He guided through my case with multiple corresponding e-mails and phone conversations while never pressuring me to hire him. Michael Morgan is an excellent attorney and and a caring person. He did so in a manner that kept me at ease and allowed me to understand and take steps towards resolution without becoming overwhelmed in a world I was unfamiliar with. Contact with him was always fast and responsive, easy to get a hold of and returned any calls or emails in a prompt manner. Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
