I was unfairly terminated from my previous employer due to a disability and Mr. Kirby did a phenomenal job from beginning to end. He took my case despite my previous employer's clout in the community and was open with me about how their reputation may affect the process and the outcome.
Mr. Kirby was thorough, diligent, and I greatly appreciated his patience with me as I was still reeling from my termination. It was obvious from the beginning that he cared not just about winning, but he was also angry on my behalf for how I was treated. He explained the legal process in a way I could understand so that I could make informed decisions. As Mr. Kirby explained, he was my lawyer, so he wanted me to direct the decision-making.
Mr. Kirby seemed to have great relationships within the local legal community. He was also always on top of deadlines and often wanted to get paperwork filed well before the deadline.
Finally, I don't know if I would have made it through that time of my life in one piece if it hadn't been for his encouragement and his excellence and genuine care in dealing with my case. Even if we hadn't had a positive outcome, I feel very grateful for Mr. Kirby and would recommend him to anyone.

I hired Mr. Kirby to represent me in an employment discrimination case in November, 2016. I was fired by my employer after requesting reasonable accommodations to help me work with a chronic illness which affects my right hand and foot and causes neuropathic pain. I will address three strengths which benefited me in working with Pat. 1) He educated me about the law in terms and language I, as a non-attorney, can understand; 2) He was thorough in his review of documents pertinent to my case, and 3) he was tactful in speaking with me about the things that were said and written about me, as well as toward the defendants in his depositions of them. I learned much about tact and diplomacy from watching Pat.

From the first meeting with Attorney Pat Kirby, my wife and I felt we'd made a connection with a professional that we'd like to have in our corner. He made us feel that he had an understanding of what I had gone through and, although empathetic, questioned & somewhat challenged my situation & position in a manner that made me feel he was taking me & my case seriously. I found Mark on Yelp and decided to give him a call. He actually answered the phone which is something you do not see too often these days. He was also able to fit me in for a consultation the next day. He answered all of my questions and even took some over e-mail. The parking lot is fairly big, and you don't have to worry about meters. If anyone is looking for a bankruptcy lawyer, I would call Mark first.

Let me say the good things first so you don't think I am making this up. First of all, Anastasia did file the divorce amendment and it is complete. Second, On the very first meeting, Anastasia was great. She was kind and thorough. She was specific on stating that she does her paperwork on Friday's. This situation is that I already had a divorce that was filed many years ago. All I needed was for it to be amended. Both party's were in agreement to everything. I even had my ex-wife ready to go to Anastasia's office to sign the document once it was filed. Both parties were in agreement, so basically this easy case was handed to her. She didn't hardly have to anything for $500.00. Here is where the problem starts. Aside from this situation, in life I have dealt with several situations in which I was waiting for others to do something. I have learned that you personally have to keep on top of things. You can't wait on others. So, since this was a time sensitive situation, We contacted Anastasia's office the week after we met her, just asking about the status of the case. Anastasia was instantly upset. She said that she was sick and that we had just met with her last week and to give her some time. I could not believe it was the same person. We gave her another week and called and she was upset that I was calling because she said she had email me information. I had not received an email from their office. Yes, I checked my junk email file. So, she re-emailed it to me and I did receive it that time. Needless to say, every time I called her office to follow up, she was defensive every time (It is my responsibility to look out for me and my legal situation). She talked to us like we were children and was defensive for no reason. Heck, I would say we were more than nice when we tried to talk to her. We knew we needed to be on her good side because we needed to have the legal stuff done. It seemed to me that she is super nice on the original meeting so she can get your money, and then right after the money changes hands, her true self comes out. I previously saw a review that said to watch out for this one. I wish I would have looked before money changed hands. You see many positive reviews on here also, I would say they are probably people that she knows. I have been in customer service for 30 + years and was so surprised that we were treated this way. She was working for us. You would have thought she was working for the other side (even though this time both sides were in agreement).

I did not love my experience with this group. The entire process there was little to no communication unless I initiated. Legal terms and jargon were almost never explained and the attention to detail was subpar seeing as there were multiple time legal documents with misspelled names and wrong dates. The process that I used them for was completely routine and it seemed like muscle memory for them but with the errors, lack of communication, and lack of personal touch it just did not lead to a good experience.

Diane was professional and courteous, and quite expensive. But she is worth it. She helped me keep my cool through the divorce process. Explained everything in detail and made herself available for many phone calls, which a normal person would try to limit. 😆 My only regret was being Pro Se in the begging of my divorce and not hiring her sooner. I may not have “won” in court, but she did help me mediate instead of going through a potentially expensive trial, which would have irreparably damaged my business. Thank you Diane, for all your help. I’ll definitely use your services again in the future.

Unprofessional. Don't waste your time. They made me wait two weeks for an appointment then cancelled at the last minute. Plenty of larger firms with more resources to choose from in Washington. You get what you pay for and this firm is cheap. Keep that in mind, that price comes at a cost like time wasted.

We were extremely disappointed by the bad experience and poor performance with this law firm.
Watch your bill: We were charged for a simple form drawn which contained many errors and inaccurate information. This was troubling to us because we provided very detailed information thru the initial consultation and thru email. There was definitely a lack of focus on their part. Initially, we had to repeatedly fill out the service agreement form because the wrong form was sent to us 2 or 3 times (we were charged for those too).
Lack of communication: They didn't make any effort to contact us to let us know where they were at. We were told repeatedly that we would receive the claim form to review the same day or the next day but this went on for 3 1/2 weeks. We had to call or email asking for status. We finally requested a refund on our deposit because they didn't follow through with what they were saying. After asking for a refund, instead of returning it, they sent us a big bill.
We feel that Mr. Miller’s office is billing us for sloppy and inaccurate work that is completely unusable and has wasted enough of our time.

I'm in-house counsel for a 195 unit franchise of a major national restaurant chain. We have stores located all over the country, including in Seattle. Our dispute arose when a local municipality unilaterally untapped the water meter for one of our stores, and then re-tapped into its own supply. It then turned around and charged us a $35,000.00 tapping fee. We retained Allen to manage the dispute, hoping to obtain a reduction in the tapping fee, without resorting to litigation, and without any disruption to our business.
Allen adeptly managed our negotiations. He successfully obtained the city's commitment to refrain from shutting off our water, giving us the time and space to confer with the city's representatives. Thanks to Allen's guidance, we obtained a significant reduction in the water tapping fee -- without having to file a lawsuit, and, most importantly, while preserving an amicable relationship with the local city officials. I highly recommend Allen's services.

We own rentals, and had a situation with a tenant who failed to pay rent, and was not abiding by the rental agreement. We consulted with Thomas McGarry, and he thoroughly explained the legalities of our situation. He quickly drew up a plan of action and followed through promptly with legal representation. We were able to move forward with our lives and get closure with the situation. He truly took a burden off our shoulders! Tom gave an excellent Residential Landlord-Tenant Law class at the local community college that was detailed, meaty and useful with enough examples to make it digestible. He provided a copy of the Revised Code of Washington statutes and converted general concepts to specific, detailed requirements rather than vague generalities. It was very useful. Upon subsequent consultation, we changed several aspects of our operation and intend to hire him if testy problems arise.

Let me start off with this. If you want someone to stick with you for the long term layman law firm is the place to go.
