After consulting several attorneys for help with a sticky tenant situation, Eileen Kendall’s consultation allowed me to finally exhale. The procedure for booking a consultation was easy and professional, payment made in advance, cost very fair. I used this firm to assist in the acquisition and bill of sale of a small business. They were awesome. Our close cycled was with in 45 days and Richard was always available for questions and new drafts. (We worked weekends when needed, but not sure this is always available). Richard is intense and very keen on the details. I wont need another firm in the future!

Lisa intentionally tried to instill fear into me regarding the potential outcomes of a Restraining Order and then charged me nearly $10,000 but did nothing. The case was dismissed by the judge and she was not even in court. She literally met with me for one hour and that was it. I won't forget what she did. I strongly do not recommend anyone use her.

Initially I wanted to give 1 star, but ultimately, I am grateful that attorney Jason Stones was very responsive to me during a time of desperation, extreme stress, and panic- whereas my previous attorney kept me completely in the dark about everything- even as my child custody hearing rapidly approached. He was also able to get my ex's attorney to agree to a PPA with only days to spare until my trial commenced.
Now for the negatives:
During the initial hearing, my ex's attorney was making what felt like direct and personal attacks against me to which I felt didn't get enough pushback from Jason. I didn't feel like he was for me as hard as he should have been.
He also never made a reply declaration to my ex's reply.
My ex made several terrible allegations against me, which resulted in me being investigated by Social Services. Jason didn't do the work to speak with the social worker to find out what the conclusion of that investigation was, or obtain a copy of the report from that investigation. Luckily, I did, and the reports conclusions completely refuted my ex's allegations. After I read the report, I told Jason that we should be submitting this to the court. His response was that we couldn't do that because this was "not an evidentiary hearing."
For me, that was the last straw and I moved on to another law firm with attorney's that DID submit a reply declaration to my ex and DID submit the report from Social Services. I'm not sure how they were able to submit the report even though this was supposedly not an evidentiary hearing. Funnily enough, that very report was brought up repeatedly by the Judge as she admonished my ex for withholding my son from me and now, thanks to a different firm, I have had my visitation restored and joint custody established.

Lawrence Markey was my attorney for a potential divorce that I was the respondent to years ago. I believed my separation from my wife was a temporary problem and kept an open mind about my family’s future. Lawrence was a very honest, caring and professional lawyer through every step of the process. He never tried to attack my wife’s character in order to get more than was deserved or needed. In short, he is one of the most moral attorneys I have ever known. He not only cared for me as a client, he cared for my wife and kept me grounded when I didn’t know what to do or how to handle situations. As a Healthcare Professional and a Marine, Lawrence came highly recommended . He was professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and transparent on my upcoming divorce. He stated and outlined what we were going to do and possible outcomes. He took down my needs and preferred outcomes and we went from there. I recently did some Estate planning with the Cox Law Group.

The La Costa HOA Board chose Eskridge Law to update our Declaration of Restrictions and Rules and Regulations documents for our condominium complex. These documents had not been revised in more than 40 years. We worked closely with Gayle Eskridge, principal of Eskridge Law. She attended our annual board meeting and was extremely helpful with the explanation of what needed to be done. Her knowledge and experience were of tremendous help to our Board and she was instrumental in helping us get the HOA documents revised and updated and filed with the county in a timely manner.
In summary, we had an excellent experience with Eskridge Law and our board highly recommends Eskridge Law to any other HOA seeking legal help.

This is a disingenuous law firm founded by a non-ABA accredited correspondence law school graduate. I retained Gayle Eskridge's services (founder of Eskridge Law) in what would ultimately be a career ending, wrongful termination case. She and her associates proceeded to slow-walk my case for well over a year. During this time, Gayle produced what I would consider to be some of the worst legal writing I've ever encountered. How she allowed this work product to be seen by me, not to mention potential defendants/opposing counsel, continues to elude me. To this day, I occasionally review my case documents; discovery did, by the way, cost me well over $200,000. I remain astounded by her ineptness, indecisiveness, and vacuous understanding of my case’s fact pattern. In this instance, as both an attorney and advocate, she was patently out of her depth. Unfortunately for me, she was also acutely aware of my financial standing. After bilking me, she promptly let my case die on the vine.
I was compelled to contact several attorneys specializing in legal malpractice. Without divulging the outcome, the unanimous consensus was that, “…she used you like an ATM.”
In her defense, I did suspect early on that she was a long shot. I failed to heed the many instances that betrayed her true intention of indefinitely delaying my case while billing for every conceivable incidental expense. The timeliness and painstakingly detailed nature of her invoices belied her inadequate attention, and outright inaction, for anything truly advancing my case. After repeated attempts at imploring her to file on my behalf failed, and after she began to realize that monthly invoices for $18,000. were no longer tenable, her work was complete. She had one of her associates hastily pass me off to another firm. In the end, I would lose my career. I would file for bankruptcy. And, I would have no one to blame except for myself. Obviously, I cannot recommend Gayle Eskridge for anything except the most rudimentary labor/employment law matters.

Back in 2004, I retained her to represent me in a custody case. Time was of the essence due to my wanting to take my child overseas for a job relocation. I had a hearing on a specific date. I asked her if she could meet the tight deadline with her schedule. She said she could. A few days before the court date when I couldn’t reach her, I was informed by her office that she was on vacation!!! I was absolutely livid. The court date was rescheduled. When she finally did appear in court on behalf, I did not feel she represented me because my ex ended up getting the better end of the deal with major concessions when I already had sole physical custody. I really wanted to file a formal complaint. For future custody and child support issues, I fared way better representing myself pro se.

I would look elsewhere if you need someone to handle your probate case matters with compassion and understanding. A few years back, I contacted The Probate House to see if they could help with some a la carte Guardianship services after my wife had passed away unexpectedly, leaving me as a single parent of 2 young kids. After a few email exchanges, it was clear The Probate House wasn't interested in helping me unless they received full Guardianship case representation. That's fine, no hard feelings...we're just not a good fit for each other. It was then the principal of the firm inexplicably chose to mock me in an email for asking for a la carte services (rather than full representation). This email was likely meant to be private to her staff but in hitting reply all I was cc'd on it. The exchange was wholely unprofessional and showed a total lack of compassion and empathy during a vunerable time for me; the behavior was particularly surprising because the principal later claimed in a follow-up apology she had just recently lost her own spouse. Probate matters are particularly sensitive in nature, and clients deserve to be working with genuinely supportive and understanding staff in these proceedings but I didn't receive any semblance of that here.

I had the good fortune recently to closely participate in a divorce settlement case in which David Yamamoto represented a family member of mine, “J”. The situation was more complex than average and I observed David drilling down into the details personally with his client to get a solid understanding of the flow of separate and community property assets. J and I were blown away by David’s coherent presentation of the facts, especially after having had a previous attorney who was unable to keep things straight. At court, David was an effective negotiator and helped J reach a settlement that aligned with his desired outcome. David’s reassuring “bedside manner” provided his client the confidence and security he needed in knowing that his attorney was thoroughly prepared on his behalf. I needed a spousal support adjustment. Before I met David, I was totally used and abused by another lawyer. David evaluated my case, told me the timing and likely outcome and settled my case six months before the earliest possible date if I needed to go before a judge.
