From the first consult with Mr. Stoller provided a lot more detail of what to expect during probate, schedule, pace, statutory and extraordinary fees than the other consults I had which I appreciated as a granular person myself.
When we were working together he helped me with family dynamics, real estate closings, ancillary estates and guidance on what is proper as a Probate administrator.
As is typical with probate it was a long slog but eventually we got it resolved. I appreciate all that he and his team did for me to help me start the next chapter of my life.

My wife and I had an appointment to consult with Sam Ledwitz, attorney at law in Torrance today and showed up a bit early. Mr. Ledwitz came out after we checked in with Jasmine. What an amazing first impression not only based on his comforting demeanor but his knowledge base, humor and transparent approach in dealing with the overall processing of our issue. Of course looking for an excellent value isn't always the way to shop for a qualified legal professional as the value here is in his knowledge and expertise. We truly appreciated the time we spent with Mr. Ledwitz and the myriad of topics we discussed which were informative and enlightening. We also met Ivy at the front office who was also professional and kind.

I couldn’t be happier with the service provided by the Agnew - Brusavich law firm in the handling and settlement of my eye injury case. A case like mine isn't something that you go about willy nilly, and for good reason.
Im so happy that I chose Joseph to represent me. Not only did he accept to represent me in my case,but he did in a time frame that was a bit on the short side. I knew I was in good hands right off the bat at our first meeting. I say this because of the attention to detail, confidence, and passion that Joseph, his Wife, and their secretary showed. Yep , that's right , family helping families!
Although my case was Family Law, I now have a lawyer for all aspects in Law,as I know Joseph is versed in multiple areas and can strategize with the best of them. Let me tell you you something that I was in awe of. When Joseph and I were in the courtroom and he was speaking to the Judge, he commanded the room. Not even 20 minutes into the case and the Judge was nodding her head and agreeing with all of the points Joseph was putting out ! I knew I won right then and there, and we sure did!

I needed an attorney after tenants caused five-figure losses and damages to the house that was previously my home for 25 years that I had painstakingly restored during those years. I am writing this to give the highest review to Bruce! He is an extremely experienced and supportive attorney who has a very affordable rate. Bruce proposed the simplest and quickest solution to my custody case, so I felt at ease and knew that he wasn’t milking me for billable time. Yolanda, the paralegal who also worked on my case, is incredibly responsible and supportive. She frequently reassured me that everything would work out and gave me great advice. The bottom line is that Bruce and Yolanda aren’t just great legal professionals, they are great PEOPLE.

If I could give negative stars of Bruce A. Mandel, I would!
This was the WORST experience I've ever had with an attorney, or any professional, by far!
Issues include:
- A crucial missed deadline, even though I supplied all necessary information 2 full days in advance.
- 2 more almost-missed deadlines. My counsel literally asked me to sign documents at 11pm twice, with midnight deadlines, even though I had supplied all requested information far in advance.
- Several unanswered emails, miscommunication and lack of communication for months.
- Bad advice from Bruce that almost cost me 50/50 custody of my son.
- Bruce was absent during the only scheduled court hearing we had, and it was not caused by an emergency, he simply booked 2 cases at the same time on the same date, even though he told me his calendar was clear on my scheduled court date.
- Extremely low quality work product in general, largely due to the constant last-second scrambling.
- Incorrect / unethical billing.
- Complete failure to follow-through on the things we discussed, and he even failed to execute a 50/50 Custody Order for more than 4 months after a judge ordered him to write up that order, and I reminded him multiple times!
- A massive misunderstanding regarding a 3rd court continuance, even though I emailed Bruce 4 times and called him once to make sure he understood the issues, he ended up making a massive blunder that essentially gave up our advantages entirely.
- Bruce finally illegally withdrew from the case while the case was still ongoing, resulting in extremely damaging client abandonment less than 24 hours before a scheduled call with opposing counsel.
I have filed a complaint with the CA State Bar, and demanded Arbitration of fees already. I am also in talks with a malpractice attorney, as I believe Bruce's failures to perform basic attorney functions have cost me more than just his fees at this point.
Run, don't walk, to any family law attorney OTHER Than Bruce A Mandel!

After I filed my Work Comp claim, my employer's insurance company's adjustor accused me of fraud without any evidence, apparently to avoid paying compensation for my injury (which was severe enough that I was not able to drive, and just trying to get out of bed had me in tears). I was outraged and that's when I decided to get legal assistance.
Mr. Paul J. Lee helped me with my Work Comp case which I had thought was impossible to win. Through him I was able to receive all the compensation that my case deserved--benefits that I would definitely not have received otherwise because of how intimidating and convoluted the system can be to ordinary people.

I had 15 years workman's compensation problems, but always avoided lawyers. Mr Lightman was wonderful. It was a long process as my case had deep history, but it was resolved well. I found him to be personable, interested in my case, and all turned out as well as I could hope, and 100 times better than I would have had if I kept trying this alone.

They would continually make phone appointments for pacific times after I told them I’m in standard time and not tell me. Appointments ruined and blamed on me because of their avoidable mistake. I was yelled at by my own attorney who’s supposed to be helping me and not belittling. I get protecting your employees but not when they obviously made the mistake and then blame it on me. It’s absolutely inappropriate for you lawyer to speaking down to you like your stupid and gas lighting.

Initially I hired a different divorce attorney but when she found out who my ex had hired she immediately advised me to contact Colleen. She told me Colleen and Pat had much greater experience with more difficult cases. I am sure glad I was referred to them
From my initial meeting with Colleen I knew she was compassionate but also was tough as nails. She always let me feel that she had everything under control and was not fazed at all by the opposing attorney. While the other attorney was pushing for reconciliation, Colleen knew what was best for me.
Colleen always returned my texts and would give me detailed responses to my questions. In the end when I was going to settle by giving my ex more than we had initially agreed on Colleen put her foot down and told his attorney we were definitely not. And you know what? They didn’t push it. I’m thrilled with the outcome and couldn’t be happier for hiring Barberis and Barberis.

I hired Colleen Barberis back in spring 2017. She is a very nice attorney, but the competance and due dilligence was severly lacking. There were many, many thing that were mishandled including: a large issue with the way a domestic violence situation was reported to her, yet it got turned around on me! Many, many email from opposing counsel carlessly forwarded to me with no comment or question. The billing situation is a mess and lastly, she never, not once discussed with me hiw the changing tax laws in 2019 would effect my case and how to strategize. There never was a strategy.
