Tab Lawhorn and Jacob Guerrero were the absolute best in helping me receive judgment against a contractor who took my money and never performed the service. They were great to work with and very reasonable, working with me every step of the way in the most cost efficient manner. So thankful and glad I had them on my side while going through this difficult time.

If your looking for an experienced professional team look no further. The Hommel Law Firm will exceed most expectations and deliver a righteous judgment every time... After vigorous searching, we were blessed to have found the Hommel firm. My fight was against a very large corporation who appeared to care nothing about my rights. The Hommel team stepped in and negotiated a gracious settlement for my wife and I, and we were able to move forward with our lives... Also, they're Christians and it was a blessing to have prayer before we moved forward... Give the Hommel team a try, you won't regret your choice! **Natashea, hey sis, we got you in our prayers 🙏🏼 ❤️ 💕...

These people will be just as nice as can be until they start receiving money. They will promise you the world and not even attempt to fulfill any of their promises. I hired Mr. Harrison in November and I opted to make monthly payments so I could see if they were going to make good on any of their promises. I was told since I live over 500 miles away they would do what they can to get me to be able to do pretrial drug tests where I live and would try to get the order on pretrial that I cannot be in contact with my husband lifted seeing he wasn’t pressing any charges. None of this was even attempted on their end. I made a call in December to make a payment and Tammy wasn’t in the office the day I called and I never heard back from her. Finally, got a call the other day and she was wanting a payment so I tried to call to make the payment today and my credit card supposedly kept declining even though my credit company said they didn’t see any attempts to run the card on their end. When I tried to explain to Tammy this, she kept telling me that they needed that payment, they needed that payment. I told her I tried to pay last month and this is what I have to pay with. I tried telling her that I keep having to drive back and forth to Tyler which is getting expensive and her response was that they were trying to get everything dropped. She said to me on the phone, “well what’s your pretrial officers name so I can contact her so you don’t have to worry about going”. I explained to her that my officer told me repeatedly that I have to show up even if I drug tested somewhere else to report. I also told Tammy that this was supposed to be done from the get go and I’ve already had to make a couple trips since. Any time I tried to ask questions I was given sighs and rudely interrupted and she only had time to try to get more money out of me. I had a good first impression but past that point was totally opposite. It was bad enough that I had to tell her that I didn’t like her attitude and to let me know who I need to contact and that I’ll just represent myself on this matter since I’m already $1250 out. I’m still waiting for that call back on that information, which I’m sure I’ll never receive. Maybe that’s the name of their game, collect payment in hopes they won’t have to deal with their clients anymore. All I can say is listen to their other bad reviews and seek someone else. Mr. Harrison was alright from what few minutes I visited with him, but you don’t deal with him, you deal with a flustered Tammy who is his paralegal and I highly do not recommend her. Beware!

There are several achievements requisite for one to be called a "tax attorney". First and foremost: a post Juris Doctorate LLM, or masters' degree, in taxation. Although there may be others, I found two real tax attorneys in Tyler, one of whom was Kacie Czapla, to whom I now refer clients; and her prior experience with Price-Waterhouse, one of the "Big Four" accounting firms, is just icing-on-the-cake. Another plus was her husband, Ty. Ty tries cases, and a good trial attorney, given the facts, can try just about any case including tax cases. If a desk lawyer, even one with her/his LLM, threatens IRS with litigation, it knows he/she is bluffing. With Team Kacie and Ty, they know the threat is real, and that makes a difference. We were able to make appointment with Mr t r u b e he was really handy and helpful Advising us where to go and who to contact about the fraudulent selling of our land and the deed and title changing through a fraudulent person's name but he was his most successful and helping me out with some advice on what to do and how to get started and the necessary direction to file the proper paperwork through the court and who to contact and talk to that would best be able to assist us he was very kind man and I appreciate him and his advice as we showed up at his office his secretary met us outside with some black face masks like the covid mask that are really ineffective. to where if or when we come inside I'm sure these measures were taken for their own safety and as a precaution to protect her lawyer and her from being sick and missing work it's kind of what I assumed but it was a different tune at first but all in all pretty great place they helped me out with advice we needed.

Beware!

Tyler Friedson is the best !! I can’t stop bragging about Tyler. He is just amazing !! He helped me so much throughout my case & I could not be more happier with the outcome. I gave him a hard challenge but he never got worried. He had a plan for everything & he was always ready for anything that could come our way. He always kept me updated with everything & his communication was on point. He is not scared to take a case to court & will battle for you. I honestly don’t know what i would do without him. It’s been a true blessing. For anyone looking for a family attorney, Tyler Friedson is definitely the one you want by your side on that courtroom!!

*writing from my friend’s pov* I have had a horrible experience, I obtained him as a legal adviser. I paid over $6k for his services were making payments and he would constantly contact me to remind me of my payment, or when the payment was due. Once I finished paying everything off, it has been nothing but radio silence from him and his secretary. I do not recommend him at all, all he does is scam and ghost you once you finish paying.

If you need to get a Visa, do not go see Ha. She Is unbelievably unequipped to do the job as she does not understand the process or even know the process. Her lack of communication and her aggressiveness is very concerning. She was more worried about getting her final payment. Even though she had never completed the job. Then she was actually giving sound advice. She has devastated and ruined our family due to her incompetence and misinformation and even when we reached out to try and bring this to light she is now replied to Email with lies saying things that are simply not true that we have proof of do not trust her

We were promised results, and ended up paying MORE in the end. I feel we were intentionally misled with empty promises so he could make that extra dollar. If you can't help me, just say so, and I will move on. I don't appreciate being fooled into paying attorneys fees, when they knew good and well they wouldn't be able to help. I'm glad to see they don't treat every case (or client) like they have us. I also don't appreciate the fact that (despite several promises) Mr. Murphy NEVER contacted me like I was told he would.

The term "justice" has been over-used in to today's society so much that the term has lost meaning or become ambiguous and subjective. I needed counsel from an attorney who had a firm understanding of the law, an objective viewpoint and one who would seek justice in my case. Justice defined by the laws of this country, state, county and city. Mr Murphy worked diligently on my case, outlining the wrongs of the case, and that i was the true victim. I was rewarded with true justice and I have only Mr Murphy's hard work, ethics and understanding of law to thank. He will be my attorney on all matters in the future.

My Daughter had a divorce and custody battle and we had to get a last minute attorney and she was fast in getting all the information we had already had a lawyer before but we were not able to pay everything on time with the other attorney so he withdrew. So we had one month to get a new lawyer before the final trial and Michelle did great she did somthing where the other party was not able to have any witnesses to testify which was great on our part. We won great attorney.

Ms. Heindel and her team are top notch! I will always use them for future legal matters!! While my divorce is still pending through no fault of theirs, they really go above and beyond to be supportive and always return my calls as soon as possible. Cannot thank this legal team enough for going the extra mile and continuing to do so! She was also upfront about legal fees and there have never been any additional or hidden charges. Would HIGHLY reccomend. Thank you so much Ms. Heindel, Mr. Cotten and all other members of this legal team for all you do!

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
