I'm not the type of person to write reviews as I consider myself pretty low key. However, when it comes to Lauren I knew I had to let the world know about her because that is the very least I can do to show my gratitude for everything she has done for me.
Prior to meeting/hiring Lauren, I was going through one of the most painful chapters in my life. My ex fled with my child, lodged multiple false accusations against my family and me, and completely limited my access with my child. After what felt like a lifetime of non-stop accusations, I found Lauren and she really came to the rescue.
In the first 3 months alone she was able to do more for me than all my 3 prior attorneys did in one year. Lauren was always available, always empathetic and always ready to answer any questions or concerns I had. I went from being deprived months without seeing my child at all to now sharing custody as close to equal that far exceeded my expectations.
What I appreciate about Lauren is that she's extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. She keeps a cool head and is always present. She doesn't take this as just a job but really invests her time to know her client and she makes a genuine and conscious effort to do the right thing and make a material difference in someone's life as she did with mine.
Fast forward 2 years later, my entire case is coming closer to an end and I have more optimism than I ever thought imaginable. I no longer wake up every morning fearing the worst. I have my son. I have meaning and purpose and my life is back on track. I now see the light at the end of the tunnel and I would not be where I am if it weren't for Lauren's professionalism, support and guidance. I got into a spot of trouble with the Westchester County Police in 2009 and when I needed a lawyer I found Mr. Higbie online. The entire legal process was very new to me but he was very accommodating in explaining how things worked and what the likely outcome would be. He kept me informed and went to bat for me. He got the charges (which were pretty serious) significantly reduced to a few fines.
Other than being very professional he is a cool guy, not the pompous, sleazy "lawyer" type. If you need a lawyer who is totally hoenst and can work with you to get it done, Higbie is your man.

Cheryl is a saint to me. As a single father in a child custody case my initial outlook on my situation was abysmal. My daughter is my life and soul. I felt I had no chance at keeping her with me, giving her the life she deserved. Cheryl fought beyond aggressively for me for 7 long years. She first won me full custody which to me was just unheard of. She then went 1000 steps further and won me the right to relocate to another state to give my daughter the life she deserved after all she had been through. I feel I owe Cheryl a debt I can never repay. She gave me my daughter and she gave me my life back. I was involved in a pressure situation due to the actions of a very large insurance agency. They were threatening to close down my business to collect on a debt which my company did not owe. Even after we proved that the inflated debt was calculated on faulty data, they continued to send harassing letters, demands for payment and finally the Marshall. Mr. Cuevas stepped in and was able to offer a simple, effective solution that none of the other lawyers I spoke with had even suggested. He stopped the action with one visit to court. The whole case will now be revisited before a judge so that the evidence we have gathered can be produced and a final decision in our favor is not far off. We were only days away from having a business which took me 35 years to build shut down. Mr. Cuevas is sharp, professional and every bit as good as Avvo states. Probably even better.

Mr. Sweeney is just a great, amazing and honest lawyer. I had about 10 opens tickets, my license was suspended by the judge until trail because the amount of tickets. I reached out to about 20 lawyers, some said they can help me and others cannot. When I was blessed with Mr. Sweeney, he had a plan he told me what was the goal and a week later I went t from 10 pending tickets to 3 tickets. I was facing 9 points on my license and Mr. Sweeney brought it down to 2 points. Some of the tickets I received was major but he resolved everything!! He will even give you a speech to be more responsible lol. I recommend him a 100 percent. He’s very fair with prices as well and offering payment arrangements if needed.
