Barbara assisted us with the extension of a tourist visa to be able to stay in the US for another 6 months. Within a few hours she prepared an estimate of the attorney fees, told us how long the processing of the application might take, whether we had a good justification for the extension and what would happen in the event our application was rejected. We contacted her at the last minute and had therefore a tight deadline. She and her team is very knowledgeable, understanding and inspires trust.

I don't think anyone who gets involved in legal action comes away super-happy about it -- you just do the best with the hand you're dealt and hope you get some kind of justice for what happened to you. But if you need to get legal on someone, (bike-car collision in my case), Kimberly is great.
Sandy (her boss) comes to the important meetings (mediation), expert witness meeting, but Kimberly handled all the day-to-day of my case: depositions, records, letters to other side, stuff I don't know the name of, etc. She's a great communicator and easy to get a hold of. Super-professional and very confident and knowledgeable.
She's very smart and has enough experience to see all the angles ahead of time and steer you through the pitfalls. Since most cases settle, what you need from your lawyer is for them to 1) stop you from doing stupid stuff, and 2) talk you into doing smart stuff. For that, Kimberly was great, and very knowledgeable, and I think we had an excellent outcome. It costs a lot to sue someone, both in lawyer contingency fees and case expenses (which you pay all of and which get amazingly insanely huge if you go to trial), but Kimberly was always up front about all that, and that's part of why so many cases settle before trial.
My only critique of Kimberly is that occasionally I felt a touch "out of the loop", but most people aren't as micro-manager as I am, and when I did have a question Kimberly was always super-quick with an answer, and easy to get on the phone or email.
If I had to do it over I'd call Kimberly again, and that's very high praise for a lawyer! :)

I am a grandmother with guardianship of my 9-year-old granddaughter. A former male baby sitter of hers attempted to gain parental rights and appealed my guardianship. An attorney in Visalia recommended Mr. Baxter as the best appeal attorney in the region. He told me he usually doesn't handle family law cases, but he would take mine. Bottom line: He won the the case for me. My opponent's appeal was dismissed. At the outset Mr. Baxter told me how long it would probably take, how much it would probably cost and what the likely outcome would be. He was sincere, compassionate and very knowledgeable about how the appeals court works due to his vast experience with appeals. He inspired reserved confidence in me, always letting me know at each step what COULD happen, but also what would PROBABLY happen. He knew the appeals judges were going to rule in my favor by the way they questioned him at the hearing. So, even though the actual decision didn't come out for a couple of months after the hearing, I was not too stressed out. I have worked with several other attorneys in the past, and I can honestly say Mr. Baxter is the best ever. He also didn't charge me for every little thing, and I could tell he was trying hard to keep the cost down for me, which I really appreciated. I would retain him again for any type of appeal case.

Patricia Teunisse was amazing. She returned my call promptly, patiently listened to everything I had to say, and didn't rush me one single bit. I spoke with three attorneys today regarding my real estate matter, and she was by far the most knowledgeable and well versed. She spoke with me over the phone for a long time, and turned down my offer to pay her for her time.

Robt. P. Baker successfully negotiated a difficult settlement on my behalf that involved corporate ownership and employment compensation issues. Decades ago my business partner and I had executed a complicated shareholder’s agreement that recently became a matter of dispute at a time when our company sold most of its assets to a new entity. The stakes were very high for me, as more than 30 years of employment were encompassed by my equity entitlement; the fruits of my entire career were on the line and the sale of our business brought with it the end of any employment or future income opportunity for me with either my partner or the entity purchasing our company's assets.
Baker articulated a deft strategy to deal with the situation and guided me through the process, at all times keeping me informed and advised of possible outcomes and potential complications. The hurdle posed by the opposition’s initial failure to favorably respond was overcome by actions that were creative and appropriate. We filed a multi-faced legal suit that involved employment law, government regulation, and statutes relevant to business practice. Robert is one of a kind lawyer that hits the ground running and acts fast. He is always reachable anytime on the day and extremely responsive. He is not your typical lawyer who signs you up and changes color on you. It is my privilege to recommend the Law Office of Stephanie J. Finelli as an excellent practice focused on legal matters with regard to appellant law. Stephanie J. Finelli is an exceptional appellate attorney!
To be frank, I had an awful disposition due to the impacts of a trial court ruling. The legal process prior to that ruling had been very challenging and I was entangled in a legal experience no one should have.
I consulted with several appellate attorneys but Stephanie's engagement was remarkable. She is a legal expert. She understood the challenges and what was needed to unravel occurrences to achieve our goal. I will use a term I don’t really use but she was "brilliant" in her decomposition of issues and analysis of the ruling in the trial court. She identified a dichotomy in the case law applied and its applicability to our case as well as a need to improve the law. That was the basis for her argument before the State of California Appellate Court. Unfortunately, the appellate court did what it is inclined to do: it found a way to uphold the ruling of the trial court.
In spite of circumstances, I had rather optimistic expectations of outcomes from the appellate court. Stephanie had confidence in her argument but leveled our expectations with pragmatism. The ruling was disappointing and a seemingly devastating blow. It is in times like that when “having a legal expert to represent your interests and provide you with counsel” really matters. Stephanie was respectful of the appellate court's ruling and explained it to me. However, she also told me she believed the appellate court "did not get it right" and explained why. Her counsel was to persist with our argument to the State of California Supreme Court.
Stephanie performed an analysis to identify issues with the ruling of the State of California Appellate Court. She believed asserting the issues identified would be compelling for the State of California Supreme Court to consider our case. She believed if the Supreme Court would accept our case, the veracity of our argument may prevail.
The rest of my accounting is history now...for the State of California. The State of California Supreme Court (it declines ~90% of the cases submitted to it) was compelled to accept our case. Stephanie was excellent in her presentation and argument to defend our case. She won and changed/improved a rather fundamental law that governs us in the state of California. She helped establish a “bright line” that improved Family Law in California.
I highly recommend the Law Office of Stephanie J. Finelli. Stephanie is principled, a resolute litigator, and a very good person. Stephanie J. Finelli is what every person needs their lawyer to be: candid, a consummate professional, a legal expert, and a winner!

I hired David Tilem to reopen the bankruptcy case of Joseph Jackson the father of Michael Jackson that case was closed in1999 .The best choice I have ever made,Tilem was knowledgeable of the law headed me in the right direction was courteous always responded to my questions immediately above all I was successful in not only reopening the old case but through Mr Tilems efforts I was able to purchase all the IP and copyrights to the Jackson Television shows from the 80's from the new Chapter 7 Trustee .I highly recommend this firm and only wished that he practiced law in New Jersey where I reside. Mr. Janke has worked for me off and on for over two decades. Mr. Janke's only personality fault is that he is too honest for his own good. Countless times he has told me or a patient I have referred to him, "You can spend less on me if you do such and such." When I or the patient follow that advice he makes less money, we save, and we still win! How many attorneys would even think of keeping your costs down?
Mr. Janke represented me and advised me during may darkest hours when everyone else thought I was a goner. He testified in court as my attorney (this is soo rare) and was the consummate professional when the other side was acting out their emotional meltdowns over realizing that they were losing.
Mr. Janke represented me in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and although we lost on a technicality we could do do nothing about, Mr. Janke managed, with help from foolishness from the other side, to get the judges to state on the record, but for the technicality that prevented us going forward, it was clear I was grievously wronged by the defendants and they should be ashamed of themselves for what they did. He even set up the other side to admit they were completely wrong and I was completely wronged by them during oral arguments before the 9th Circuit Judges.. I've never heard of any anything like this happening before.
In short, Mr. Janke is a force to be reckoned with. That's why he is our chief counsel (very part time I'm happy to say) for my wife's business, Online Image.
