We recently went to Kahan Kerensky Caposela, LLP for advice on our legal options should one of us become incapacitated. Attorney Sutton gave us excellent information and when he inquired as to the status of our will, we all realized that it's 25 years old and needed to be updated. So Attorney Sutton and team updated the will (complete with additional paperwork). It was all very efficient. And every interaction we had with anyone in the office was pleasant and professional. We felt like we were in really good hands. We just signed the papers today and feel pretty confident about the future. I can’t say enough about Mark Sherman, Christine, and their incredible team. My stepfather was facing two 20-year charges—First Degree Manslaughter and First-Degree Assault. The stakes couldn’t have been higher. Mark Sherman, Christine, and the team achieved the seemingly impossible, reducing the charges to misconduct with a Motor Vehicle—a charge that still carried a potential 5-year prison sentence—and yet they managed to secure no jail time for my stepfather. The team had the manslaughter and assault charges dropped. While he did receive 3 years of probation and a 3-year loss of his CDL, the outcome was far better than we ever could have hoped for.
Our family went through hell for about 8 years because of this case. The toll it took on my family, especially my mother, was unbearable at times. I’m lucky she’s still alive to celebrate this win with us after everything we have been through.

The services provided by Mr. Mark Sherman's office were a blessing, and worked very well for us. We had no experience with legal issues, and since our situation was severe and needed immediate attention, we couldn't formulate any plans, but needed to work toward a solution right away. After describing the problem over the phone, Mr. Sherman provided immediate guidance to begin dealing with the situation promptly and properly, as well as alternative options.
As Mr. Sherman advised, it is a slow process, over two years in our case. Nonetheless, his experience, attention to detail, and thoroughness, provided the guidance to work through the necessary steps and resolve the situation to a more favorable outcome. Of course, on our end, the process was not without a great deal of worry, anxiety, and the feeling that one may not endure the situation to the end. And, just to mention, my usual thoughts of "I always worry when I have to depend upon someone else", were never an issue with Mr. Sherman or his office. Our hope and faith in Mr. Sherman were very well placed, as no misteps occurred or additional problems ensued.
We highly recommend his office. His staff were always on top of things, and Mr. Sherman was always available whenever the processes were taking their next steps. Attorney Dombrowski was great to work with. He is down to Earth and easy to talk to. I hired him because I knew he could and would handle the legal part of my accident, thereby taking away the anxiety and hassle of working with the Workmans Comp. people. I was able to concentrate on healing from mysurgeries and the physical therapy that went with it. His Paralegal, Sue, was very helpful and always available to explain new information to me. She was diligent with keeping track of payments due to me during the process. It takes a lot of energy to recover from the trauma of the accident. We are fully satisfied with the process and outcome of our estate planning with Paul. We chose him based on his expertise in trusts and estates law. You do not want a part-timer whose practice is mostly in criminal defense or real estate for your estate planning. From start to finish this took us less than a month for a process of moderate complexity.. Most of this was done remotely, by Zoom and phone. Paul is available and communicative. Dan took time out of his busy schedule to review documents from a car company which leased a vehicle to me. I am a New York Resident who needed help with a CT vehicle lease. Dan was candid and honest about any potential actions that may or may not be able to be taken. Attorney Blinn was able get a dealership to address the problems a used SUV I bought had, when I couldn't get anywhere with them previously. He also stayed with me even though there wasn't any financial gain for him, because the dealership couldn't correct the problems and took back the vehicle.

This is my story, In 2016 I started my journey at nursing school at Stone Academy in the evening program. I encountered many delays during this time, I finally graduated in the year 2020 instead of 2019. I have been trying to pass my NCLEX from November 2020 until January 2024, I passed. I felt accomplished and all congrats were in order. I applied for a job went through the process but my license keep saying pending on DPH website.
I called the Board of Nursing and the person who answered the phone informed me that my license will not granted until they receive an updated transcript that I graduated from this institution as the one they have on file said withdrawn. The emotions were high when I heard these words my response was how could you have sent me ATT to write my boards for the past 3 years? The backlash was awful, detached and no empathy. She did refer me to call OHE ( Office of Higher Education) to find out if they have the transcript but they did not! Long story short….OHE put me on a list to request an official transcript from Stone Academy, this school stop existing in 2022 and currently have lawsuits.
I decided to higher a Lawyer, I called Keily Mira Law Firm and was connected to Jon. I went in the office, I explained my case but he never had a case like mine. He got the understanding and decided to take my case, he was also hitting close doors! I gave him all the information for him to work with, when I thought getting a Lawyer would perform a miracle, I felt frustrated and overwhelmed. Jon reminded me that he is working on my behalf and he is my ADVOCATE, I would have to be patient because it wasn’t an easy task.
OHE placed my name on a list to receive my official transcript, even though a copy was sent wouldn’t be enough, on 2/20/2024. I emailed OHE 2 weeks ago to find out if there were any updates the person responded to me yesterday 4/18/2024 “as of right now there hasn’t been any updates and I have escalated your case”.
