Josh met with me in regards to my divorce and was very compassionate and understanding. He always had mine and my sons best interest in mind. The divorce was complete in 6 months and he was with me every step of the way, making sure I understood everything that was happening. Afterwards he did estate planning for me to ensure I would have no worries about my sons well-being should something happen to me. Josh was great and I have referred others to him and would go back to him for my future needs.

Mr. Tanis helped me with setting up my estate plan and trust for my children. He was very helpful and thorough during the entire process. He made sure that everything was spelled out carefully in order that it could be implemented smoothly when it is needed. He included many things that I would have not thought of. I had delayed in having my estate plan done because I thought it was going to be very complicated. He made it easy for me, beginning to end. This was the second time I have worked with him. He did a partnership agreement for me last year for my business. He did a great job with that and with this estate plan.

I required a lawyer that would actually fight in my best interest rather than try to get me to take the plea on something i just did not do so i called Bruce! A few friends i have gave me his info because he works in my area and wins cases that most just plea out. well dressed down to earth guy, he is realistic and knowledgeable, and will give you a straight answer. Bernard Schaefer has represented me for civil and family court issues. He is caring, extremely experienced in court, trustworthy, anticipates barriers and moves you over the hurdles. I would highly recommend this law firm for family/custody disputes. I dealt with not only a child custody dispute, but then a custody violation with multiple twists of the newly enacted child custody agreement and in both instances Dan was amazing. Dan knows the law very well and lays out the best avenues to take, was consistent and thorough, and was not fazed by the antics from the other side. He eased my worries about this process with a cool and calm demeanor. The BEST attorney (in my biased opinion) in Grand Rapids.

During a very difficult time in which I had gotten myself into some trouble, Jason was extremely helpful in assisting me. His professionalism and kind-heart showed through the way he worked with me without judgement, but also with my best interest in mind. He took the time to get to know me and truly make the case a personal one amidst the cold-hard facts of what I had done. My sentence was significantly reduced from what I was originally charged with and my consequences were much less than any other individual who would have landed on the sentence I ended with. I attribute this to Jason and his thoroughness and work on my case in making it personal to my circumstances and taking into consideration my past behavior. Not only from the court perspective was Jason successful, but he was very kind throughout the process, as I was visibly having a hard time. He helped me through the process much more than he had to and eased my stresses. I was able to go on with my day-to-day work through this long process and trust that he was taking care of everything. I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a challenging year. This has been especially true for me as I lost my job in March and dug myself into a whole that was impossible to get out of with my rent. David from Edward and Alan law went above and beyond to help me. I was in the process of getting evicted and was so lost on what to do , he went out of his way to send me organizations for funding , personally contacted these organizations to help me and managed to help me get all of the money I needed to cover my rent and avoid eviction. He did this all without receiving any payment from me . David from Edward and Alan law had no obligation to help me, but he did more than that. I wouldn’t trust any other person or law firm in my time of need! I highly recommend getting in touch with them if you want a lawyer who not only gets the job done but goes above and beyond to do so!

Over the past several years Phillip has helped my company out in a few different capacities. He has been extremely helpful to us negotiating disputes and advising on contracts with both customers and suppliers. I have needed Phil's services to develop trial agreements for products and terms of service with our suppliers. I have occasionally needed his services again if they fail to deliver. When I first met Jim I was facing a Domestic Assault charge out of Grandville Michigan. Quickly he went to work gathering information and staying in constant contact in order to dig at the case. His confidence picked me up when I felt very discouraged. I had a tremendous amount of pressure riding on the outcome of my case.
While in jail he visited me and continued to hash away at my case. He gave me hope even when I had none. His confidence, dedication and hard work as a lawyer are all virtues that you would look for in representation. Above all else he was my friend when I had none. I give Jim a 10/10 and would recommend him AND his firm to anyone. Even his assistant Sydney is helpful and extremely friendly with every single encounter. I was recently caught off guard with a motion against me from my daughter’s Father. I first contacted Mr. Newberg through an attorney referral service here in Grand Rapids, MI cocernining a civil suit being brought against me for a large amount of debt. Needless to say I was very concerned about the case being brought against me. After my first consultation with Chris I was feeling a bit more relieved about being able to settle this case before it even went to court. The fees charged were very fair and he even did a lot of consulting with me and back and forth with the plaintiff before any fees were brought up. Chris did an amazing job at getting my case settled at a fraction of the debt owed. Next time you hear an attorney joke, don’t laugh because the job Mr. Newberg did for me was no joke. When I was arrested for violating the Grand Rapids noise ordinance last October, I hired Chris to help me navigate the legal repercussions. Throughout the process, Chris provided excellent counsel with speed, clarity, and tact. In the end, he negotiated a deal with the city attorney to have my case dropped in exchange for a modest amount of community service. Having never dealt with the justice system before, Chris served as an invaluable source of calm through an otherwise anxiety inducing period. My wife and were in need of Legal advice regarding the handling of our Lease, or lack thereof, as we could not reach an agreement with our Property Management Agency on our next year's lease for various reasons. We felt we were being taken advantage of to say the least. I was introduced to Chris through a Veteran's legal assistance program with which Chris was aligned. Chris helped us over the phone, at no charge, navigate the through our lease concerns several times as the situation developed. As the Agency continued to escalated the issue we would have felt very helpless without Chris' advice. In the end, we actually hired Chris and his Firm to negotiate directly for us we had to depart the state for another job. Chris expertly represented us and our concerns against the much more formidably funded Agency. In the end Chris was able to get the Agency to drop all their frivolous claims and pay us back all our deposits owed without having to go to court. For my wife and I, having Chris was well worth every penny we recovered from negotiation and then some; however, the icing on the cake was that his Firm's ultimate billing for matter was extremely reasonable and far less than I expected for his First Class Service. Chris really new the applicable laws as well as the statutory timing requirements for leases and used them to our advantage to essentially "win" the negotiations for us. He wrote letters for us and negotiated directly with the Agency and their lawyers. He maintained outstanding communications as we moved out of state and kept us informed and promptly had both our returned lease deposits and vast majority of our retainer fees returned to us. Working with Chris made an otherwise stressful situation as stress free as possible. If I ever have any legal questions or issues in the future, Chris will be my first call and I suggest anyone reading this consider doing the same. Thanks again Chris!!

I wanted to commend attorney Brian Plachta for his help with my complicated legal matter. I consulted a different lawyer on recommendation before coming to Brian and that lawyer made me feel very uneasy about my situation. Brian made things very clear for me and I appreciated the time he took in explaining and sometimes re-explaining until I was contentedly "in the know" of what was going on. His legal advice and counseling towards my legal matter made me more comfortable that my situation would be effectively handled.
From my experience with lawyers, Plachta Murphy is different. The staff and attorneys were at my level and made me feel comfortable. That may seem like a small thing, but as a client who would rather not be dealing with a lawyer in the first place it really is a huge deal.
