Seth was extremely efficient in my case. They always took the time to answer all my questions and be honest with me. I never felt as if they were trying to lead me wrong to delay the case. They tried to get things done fast at minimum cost of out pocket for me considering the situation. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone. I am extremely grateful for their assistance during a very challenging time.

Seth took over my case after two previous lawyers couldn't get anything done. He was able to completely turn the case around and got me what I wanted from the beginning. I wish I would have used him from the start. He answered all my questions and really knows what he is talking about.

Seth always took the time to answer all my questions and make sure I really understood what was happening in my case. He always showed up to court ready to go and was organized. The judge really respected him and listed when he told the judge about other cases like mine and why I should win. He returned my calls usually in the same day and the time I had an emergency on a Sunday he called me right back and took the time to help me. The lawyers who work for him were always kind and helpful too. He really cares about your case.

He likes to post irrelevant things on your questions and mock your situation. I live in Kentucky so I have no need for a Florida lawyer and I stated my situation with a little backstory and he not only tried to make me look stupid but continued to come back and add more comments with his condescending opinions and unasked for "advice" I think he enjoys trolling people. I did not consult him and asked him to move on to someone else and he just continued to come back and insult me personally.

I hired this office to evict a family member. I specifically told them I was in the middle of a divorce and that my soon to be ex was not in the house but is on the deed. I asked if that would be a problem. They told me no. They said it would take 6 weeks. At 6 weeks, I get a call from one of the lawyers claiming I did not tell them about the divorce or that soon to be ex is on the deed. That they cannot do anything about the eviction because of it. Then said they talked to the main attorney and that he said he’s willing to get involved in my divorce for a fee of $3500. They got $800 from me for doing nothing and then wanted to try and get me for another $3500? Yeah, no. I would not use them or recommend them. And by the way, they have evidence that I told them everything in the consultation as they told me it was being recorded.

Hired 03/20/2023. Returned signed agreement, paid fee, and requested Documents to Janice Price on 03/20/2023; called 03/21/23 to verify receipt of documents: NO RESPONSE. Followed up 03/22/2023 with email: NO RESPONSE. Called on 03/22/2023 in the afternoon and reached a receptionist who advised 6 - 12 weeks for eviction and no one will call unless need something; never answered my initial inquiry actually only a simple inquiry and hung up the phone. I was discouraged by handling and wrote a letter canceling the agreement and requesting a refund and was sent the following two emails. """" The issue with communication has not been us. Your expectations are not reasonable. For $500 we kick your tenant out, we don’t double-confirm every email we send or receive to you, that’s not something we do. We don’t do a bunch of explaining or hand-holding, which we told you at the outset. We we’re upfront about that it takes 4-6 weeks. Nobody here told you 12 weeks. As stated in the fee agreement, the attorney’s fee is non-refundable. If you wish to go another direction, we can give you a refund of unexpended court costs only. Or you can be patient for the 4-6 weeks we told you, and we’ll have your tenant out in the time we gave you. Let me know what your preference is. and I haven’t said anything untrue, you’re just having a mini-meltdown because we won’t double-confirm every communication you have back and forth with us, which is because: obviously. That’s silly. If you don’t get a bounce-back then we got it. This level of angst is unnecessary, we do 500-1000 of these a year, and we’ve got this. We don’t need you stressing over it. All we need is pay us, send us the documents we requested, and we’ll get your tenant out in the time and cost we agreed to. If we need anything we’ll call you. We have lots of satisfied clients. That’s all there is to it. It’s not complicated, and there is no need for you to worry about it, let alone to this extent. Just be patient and all will be well. Sent from my iPhone""""""""

Thank goodness my real defense with the FAA was handled by my son. My son Casey does not have a law degree but he managed to put together a defense for myself and my small company and we received a dismissal from the FAA. Jeff sent documents in black and white instead of color to the FAA. Had those documents been sent in color the FAA would more likely than not have never brought the charges against my company that they did. After we hand carried the color photo to Atlanta to the FAA several of the allegations that Jim Stein (another attorney) brought against my company were dropped. In color the photo clearly shows the areas that Ryan Patanaphan's office had a misconception about. Yes the FAA has "misconceptions" just like the rest of us. Jeff pays no attention to detail. He failed to spell my name correctly and sometimes I was Kathy other times I was Cathy. This went on for about a year! He advised us to continue to operate onto a federally funded airport after the police had shut us down. (Jeff did not understand that we had property right next to the airport and approval to use that property.) My concern is that an attorney can incorrectly advise his client and then the client is forced to retain more legal assistance. The only reason we stayed with Jeff is I did not think that AOPA legal would cover us if we moved to another law firm. AOPA's Mike Yodice has advised us that Jeff agreed when he signed up with AOPA to only charge what AOPA is willing to pay. Jeff charged an extra $3132.00 that he is unwilling to give back to a client that was living out of her car while he defended us. Repeatedly he advised me to take whatever "settlement" the FAA offered. Just prior to our dismissal Jeff wrote me an email advising me that it he would require a $10,000 retainer if we took our case to the next level. Once again advising his client to admit to something we did not do while he chose to charge us $100.00 more an hour than his agreement with AOPA legal. Jeff Ludwig is everything that is wrong with the American Judicial system today.

He told me I would never get approved for Disability and he did almost nothing at all. I did all the work. I got all the med records. I arranged evals with specialists on my own and got them to prepare reports. I talked to retired SS Disability judges who told me I could go back 3-4 years. He told me I could not. AJ hearing. He said nothing. Did nothing. In presented my case, answered questions of judge. Was approved and got the 3-4 years or arrearage also. So my payout was quite large. Which meant he got a huge percent. He was so excited $$$$.. But did no work to earn that money. Just kept telling me I would be denied and did not work to get evidence to prove. I did my own research, got others to help me. He is a parasite, lazy and makes money off other's misfortunes. Win some, lose some. He makes money.

Pretends he has an assistant. He's the only one in his office. Has no help so when you call, you'll hear his "secretary" but there is none. He's not very knowledgeable in his field and will constantly ask you the same thing over and over that you have already answered and provided. He's more stressful to deal with than your soon to be ex. Definitely wish I had done more research before I gave him my money.

Levi Morris is an excellent attorney. I am very grateful for all his efforts throughout my divorce, and still today. He is very smart, professional and courteous. His legal--and financial--acumen are top-notch. His attention to detail, and his retention of details both small and large, are amazing. He helped me go from a place of emotional darkness to a state of financial comfort and contentment I feel today. He encouraged in me self-confidence and optimism. I unequivocally recommend Levi Morris.

Based on reading the previous review, yes it is true that he wouldn't directly go to court for my issue, but it doesn't mean he's bad at what he does. He did help me out with a few issues (damages sought by a prior landlord, fence destroyed by a developer, new construction sending water onto my property.) He would not directly go to court with me, but he did write some great letters in my behalf which got me what I wanted and provided good advice on how to handle other things efficiently and cost effectively. Honestly the guy was a lifesaver and I have absolutely no idea what I would have done without him. He was very approachable and was a great help to me.

This lawyer lacks the courage to stand up for what is right for his client. He is about maintaining the status quo as well as his position within his law firm. He is not a trial attorney even though he may advertise it in his bio, so be prepared to settle with the opposing counsel even if it is not in your best interest. If the business side of the law ( i.e. his own self interest) conflicts in any way with the pursuit of justice, he will most likely choose the business side every time. He operated more or less solo within his firm, and did not have the adequate support staff in house to address all of the pertinent issues involved in our case - it was one of the reasons I felt the case was compromised. He was overwhelmed, un organized with papers everywhere, understaffed, did not have a good solid legal strategy. In the end, he failed to adequately represent me and his overall representation was poor.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. We had the absolute worst experience with this law office. We should’ve checked the other reviews but my husband coworker recommended them. Not sure why because they were HORRIBLE. My husband received a traffic citation for speeding. He hadn’t received a speeding violation in over 15 years. We were informed by attorney Britney that she would represent my husband in court and he didn’t need to come since his job is extremely demanding. She also told us she would get the ticket amount decreased, and/or keep points off his license based on his driving record but he may have to take a driving course. On his court day we were informed another attorney went in Britney’s place. This said attorney reported back that my husband was found guilty and needed to take the driving class but no points would be on his license. Two days later, the attorney David Taylor reached out saying something different and the attorney that went in Britney’s place wasn’t familiar with the process, therefore not explaining the outcome correctly. When I tried to speak with attorney Britney, she referred us back to attorney David who was very rude and used vulgar language after I expressed how displeased I was with their service. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. This was a waste of money. Thank God my husband and I was able to get the situation rectified on our own.

A lot of talk about what she would do and how she would represent me and barely any of it came to fruition. Exteremly poor representation, due to lack of timely responsiveness, and has limited knowledge or know how of family law. She provided me with inaccurate information which left me on the hook and without any rights. Save your money and hire a different attorney.

I hired Jeanna March 2020, the biggest waste of my money! Not only did she wait until the very last minute to file, respond, request, to do anything, once we got in court she was NEVER prepared. She wouldn't speak up or be assertive, stand her ground or anything, she was very timid and acted like she was scared to speak out. My ex had NO representation and still won on every situation until my son was almost 18 years old and he spoke to the judge himself. And when it come to the child support situation, I got totally Screwed because of her and her lack of....well, everything! She's a total incompetent attorney and is not worth the paper the money is printed on. Over 3 years of failure! Don't waste your time and definitely don't waste your money!

I was very unimpressed with John Reis. He never returned my calls and often it took weeks to get in touch with him. His knowledge of what I worked with him on was nonexistent and at one point he even told me he’d “googled” something to find out. He was very unpleasant to work with and gave me some very bad advice. I worked on a project with him for an entire year and at the end, I walked away with no resolution. My suggestion if you are reading this review is to look elsewhere for an attorney. Mr. McQuaig was hired by my husband's family to oversee my late mother-in-law's estate, as she had been a client of his before her passing. This was a simple estate and it took him almost three years to complete. In addition, he charged the family 5 times what he told us his initial fee would be. Attempting to communicate with him was a nightmare...he rarely returned phone calls or e-mails in a timely manner. Things were delayed FAR more than they should have been, and the entire ordeal was very frustrating and caused our family an incredible amount of emotional distress. Sadly, it is attorney's like Mr. McQuaig that give the entire profession a bad name. If you value your time, your money, and your sanity, do NOT hire this man.

This so called lawyer was disinterested in my case from the start. She requested that the best way to contact her was through emails, yet she would take several days to respond to correspondence, she was slow to file simple paperwork, and she was not straightforward about the work that she was doing on my case. In addition, when I asked her a simple question about a filing error she became upset, loud, and hung up the phone without answering the question. Professionalism was not a part of her repertoire as this was not the only incident that she responded to with a bad attitude. I would think twice before hiring this lady.

Ms. Awad was brought into negotiations late in the game. In our first meeting it was obvious that she was unprepared and without a basic understanding of the issues. As the deal progressed, Ms. Awad chose to focus on ancillary items - missing concerns with the basic deal structure. Upon discussion of this, Ms. Awad became extremely defensive and countered by repeating herself in a louder tone. Ultimately, Ms. Awad withdrew from the negotiations.

What a Business Lawyer Can Do for You

A business lawyer provides critical legal guidance and support to entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses. Whether you are forming a new company, drafting contracts, or navigating complex regulations, a business attorney ensures you are legally protected and operating within the law. They can also help prevent legal disputes or represent you in negotiations, transactions, or lawsuits that arise during the course of business operations.

Business lawyers have expertise in areas such as business formation, contract law, intellectual property, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. They ensure that your business is compliant with relevant laws and help mitigate risks that could threaten your company's success.

When Should I Hire a Business Lawyer?

Hiring a business lawyer is essential at various stages of business development, including:

  • Forming a business: When deciding on the best structure for your company (LLC, corporation, partnership, etc.), a lawyer can guide you through the registration and compliance process.
  • Drafting contracts: If you need contracts for employees, partners, suppliers, or clients, a lawyer ensures these documents are legally sound and in your best interest.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, or dissolutions: If you are buying, selling, or dissolving a company, legal counsel is critical to avoid costly mistakes.
  • Compliance and regulatory issues: A lawyer can help navigate complex regulations, particularly in industries like healthcare, finance, or tech.
  • Resolving disputes: Whether it's contract disagreements, intellectual property infringement, or employment issues, a business lawyer helps mediate, negotiate, or litigate on your behalf.

What Does a Business Lawyer Do?

Business lawyers provide a wide range of services that cater to different legal needs of a business. They can:

  • Help you choose the best legal structure for your business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with employees, suppliers, customers, or business partners.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Advise on tax strategies to minimize your business's tax burden.
  • Assist with intellectual property protection, such as trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Handle mergers, acquisitions, and business sales, ensuring all legal paperwork is in order.
  • Resolve disputes through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation.

How Are Business Lawyers Paid?

Business lawyers typically charge either by the hour or on a flat-fee basis, depending on the complexity of the work. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rates: The lawyer charges based on the time spent working on your case. Rates vary depending on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fees: For certain tasks, such as incorporating a business or drafting a standard contract, a lawyer may offer a flat fee.
  • Retainer: Some businesses may hire a lawyer on retainer, paying a fixed amount each month to have ongoing access to legal services.

The payment structure is often discussed during an initial consultation so you can choose the one that best suits your business needs and budget.

How Much Does a Business Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a business lawyer depends on factors such as:

  • The complexity of the legal issue: More complex matters, like mergers or intellectual property disputes, typically cost more than routine tasks like contract drafting.
  • The lawyer's experience and location: More experienced lawyers or those in larger cities often charge higher fees.
  • The nature of the billing arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $150 to $1,000 or more, depending on the lawyer's expertise. Flat fees are usually available for simpler matters like forming an LLC or drafting a standard contract.

It's essential to discuss fee structures upfront to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Business Lawyer

Before hiring a business lawyer, ask the following questions during your consultation:

  1. What is your experience with businesses like mine?
Find out if the lawyer has handled legal issues for companies in your industry.
  2. What services do you offer?
Ensure the lawyer can meet all your business's legal needs, from contract drafting to dispute resolution.
  3. What are your fees, and how do you bill?
Get clarity on how you'll be charged - whether by the hour, flat fee, or retainer.
  4. How do you handle conflicts of interest?
Ask how the lawyer ensures there is no conflict in representing your business.
  5. Can you provide references from other business clients?
Speaking with past clients will give you an idea of the lawyer's expertise and professionalism.
  6. Do you have experience in my specific industry?
Industry-specific knowledge can be crucial, especially in highly regulated fields like healthcare or finance.

How to Check the Credibility of a Business Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable business lawyer:

  • Check state bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is in good standing and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for client reviews or testimonials: Online reviews, testimonials, or word of mouth from other business owners can provide insight into the lawyer's reliability and effectiveness.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should have satisfied clients who can vouch for their services.
  • Check professional memberships: Membership in respected legal organizations (such as the American Bar Association or a local business lawyer association) can signal credibility.
  • Review their website and professional profile: A well-established lawyer typically has a professional website showcasing their areas of expertise, credentials, and case success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with a business lawyer, prepare the following:

  • A description of your business and its structure: This will help the lawyer understand your legal needs.
  • Any current contracts or agreements: If you're seeking contract advice, bring copies of existing contracts.
  • A list of legal issues or concerns: Be ready to discuss any potential legal challenges, such as regulatory compliance, disputes, or transactions.
  • Financial documents: If applicable, bring financial records related to the legal matter you're seeking help with.
  • Questions about fees and billing: Ensure you understand the lawyer’s payment structure and fees upfront.

By preparing these materials, you can ensure that your first meeting with a business lawyer is productive and informative.
