I highly recommend John Shoemaker for every aspect of Real Estate Law. I have had the opportunity to work closely with him as he fought for my landlords' and my tenants' civil rights, property rights and economic rights. I have witnessed his "full court press style" of fighting for people all the way to the United States Supreme Court. The decisions that he has obtained have singlehandedly changed the landscape of housing rights and preserved for every one in every socio-economic class the ability to rise up and survive economically going forward. After working with dozens of attornies I can't think of another one who is as quick on his feet, as passionate or as skilled as Mr. Shoemaker. I've also never encountered one who has the guts and perseverance to fight the good fight all the way to the top for all of us. The City adopted an inspection scheme targeting minority tenants in transitional neighborhoods. We hired John to draft the HUD complaint. The work quality, responsiveness and his knowledge were above expectations. The cost was below what we anticipated.
We would highly recommend him for complex fair housing inspection policy issues.

Not all litigators are great in the courtroom. We all see how thoroughly attorneys prepare for trial. And Chuck was very thorough in his preparation for trial. What stood out for me was Chuck's ability to artfully maneuver and then to sense the right moment to strike and destroy on cross examination. I was impressed. That is what I think you would want in an attorney. I was very satisfied with Chuck's "performance" and our subsequent victory in court. I think you want that more than anything else. I recommend Chuck to anyone.

My automobile was ruined due to a manufacturer's engine defect. I was connected with Chris through the legal service at my company. I spoke with Chris on several occasions to explain the specifics of my case and to find out what my options were for getting compensation from the manufacturer. In each conversation Chris was polite, well informed and explained very clearly to me what was needed from me to proceed with a legal action. Chris also made clear what outcomes I could expect if I pursued any action. As issues and milestones came up Chris always kept me informed. When I had questions Chris would respond in a timely and informative manner. When decisions needed to be made, Chris provided clear and concise options and likely outcomes, and made it plain that it was up to me as to how to proceed. However the case would have been resolved I would have felt that I was represented by an excellent advocate who was on my side. Chris was an honest, forthright partner who was an excellent communicator.
Happily, the outcome was much better than I had hoped for and I know full well that I would not have received the same settlement, if any, without Chris' outstanding work.
I would recommend Chris to anyone who needs legal assistance and if I need help in the future I will surely call on Chris.

My husband an I had a problem with property damage caused by a licensed contractor which had filed for bankruptcy to complicate things. We had contacted other counsel and they clearly did not know how to proceed, taking weeks to respond to our inquiries. Thankfully we found Matthew! With in 24 hours of the first conversation, he filed the motion of relief from stay and knew exactly what we needed to do to solve our problem. He proved very pleasant to work with, an expert in our type of legal matter, and ultimately very successful!
His rates may not be the lowest, but his efficiency and competency is so high that he really is the best value! I can easily recommend Matthew.

My husband and I found Matt through Avvo as we were relocating from out of state and were purchasing a home without the use of a realtor. We strongly recommend Matt for multiple reasons. First, he provided sound advice on ensuring the title was free and clear and there would be no issues prior to us getting too far into the process. Second, he recommended for us to have the seller provide an updated survey at their expense since the survey was old and this was a lakefront property. Third, he was able to negotiate with the Title company and look over our owners title insurance policy to ensure we had a policy that worked in our best interest. And lastly, he made sure that our purchase agreement was written well to represent and protect us in the negotiation proceedings. These four items alone you cannot put a price on as they can be pricey issues down the road if you are not protected or if all information on the property is not disclosed properly. Matt's charges were fair and overall couldn't put a price on them because the information was better than any real estate agent could provide and it more than triple paid for what we saved in buyer realtor fees that we were able to negotiate off the price. We strongly recommend for anyone who is looking at a piece of real estate to engage with Matt instead.

I am the general Partner of the purity Bakery Building Limited Partnership. Mr. Brendan Tupa, Attorney, was retained to assist in bringing an insurance claim to a settlement. An adjuster had failed to perform on this matter. Mr. Tupa brought legal action against the insurance company resulting in a substantial settlement. He further assisted me dealing with the non-performing insurance adjuster by modifying the fee agreement.
I subsequently retained Mr. Tupa to bring a suit against a railroad over a property issue. Two prior attorneys had begged off on pursuing litigation as a solution to this problem. I can state that within twenty four hours of Mr. Tupa’s service of a law suit, the matter was satisfactorily settled.
Subsequently Mr. Tupa’s office wrote a letter to Xcel Energy a dispute over a utility line location. Within days of this letter the problem was satisfactorily resolved.

We loved Sarah Breiner Law for our will, advance directive and also did the Guardian Guide.
Sarah's process was very organized and detailed, and she was family focused and worked with us on timeline before we went on vacation. We also did the "Guardian Guide" that i think really covers our kids and especially with the our medical condition concerns instructions.
We procrastinated a long time before we ended up doing our will, but with our child's recent medical condition diagnosis and finding Sarah (she did our neighbor's will also), we really feel our kids are covered now in the event something happens to us.

I talked with another lawyer who wasn't interested in helping me because I wasn't looking for a financial payout. Mr Robin and Fossey met with me, spent a lot of time getting to know me and what I was looking for, despite the lack of a big financial gain. Ultimately they gave me enough advice I didn't need to use lawyers to settle my case, but would have used these guys in a heartbeat.

Jim was my parents lawyer for many years. He was a great help to them as they moved from being on their own, to needing help, and finally he was there to help us through both of theirs passings. He was always able to answer our questions in a maner that we could understand. This was sometimes a challenge with my 80 year old mother, but Jim was patient and reassuring to her. He always gave us clear and concise answers, but did not talk down to her or us. His information was good and helped us make the decisions we needed to make. He guided us along the way, he did not tell us what he wanted us to do.
His services always seemed fairly priced.

We went to a presentation that Chuck did and decided to have him review what we thought were trusts we had done in 2006. Turned out they were wills, not trusts. Chuck did an excellent job of explaining things in layman's terms. In addition, he did a thorough job of going through everything and provided us with detailed instructions about how to get our assets set up so our kids won't have the hassles of probate court. Everything is organized and spelled out for them. We even got to leave them a DVD! Chuck is excellent; we whole-heartedly recommend him!

Alex Bajwa is not only an excellent lawyer but also a great guy. I am a member of his monthly business service and he has reviewed many legal documents on my behalf as part of his monthly service. What I like best about him is that he can break down the "legal talk" to my level so I can understand the situation. By him reviewing these documents before hand, he has saved me a ton of money and also a ton of headaches. As a member of his service, his rates are the lowest I have ever seen. He is approachable, easy to work with, detail orientated and his response rate is unbelievable. I can send him a text for emergencies and he has always gotten right back to me. I have also hired him outside the scope of his monthly service. I needed to add an existing partner to one of my businesses, and Alex opened my eyes to many things that I never would have thought to even ask. I also know several of his other clients and I know that they also extremely happy and impressed with him. It is nice to be a small business owner and have the luxury of having a competent lawyer "On Staff" at all times at an affordable price. I would highly reccomend him to anyone that has a legal need. One of the recomendations that he has given to myself that has also proved invaluable to me is to call him when I have a question "before" I have a legal problem!

I hired Drewes Law for a family to family, as-is real estate transaction so therefore a much more expensive realtor was not needed. I hired them based on the other great Google reviews and it was a great decision!
They explained the process in detail and answered all of my questions up front, then got going on the process while always keeping me in the loop. We were working through a family member who was Attorney-in-fact/Power of Attorney for my grandmother, which slightly complicated things in my opinion but it was never an issue for the Drewes team.
Toward the end there was an issue with the county rejecting some filings, to which Drewes Law reached out to me immediately to let me know, but also let me know they re-reviewed everything and told me they were confident there was no reason for the rejection. They called my county the next business day to which the county recognized the mistake and that it indeed should not have been rejected (mistake due to being down workers/having new workers due to Covid). The County immediately approved and I was sent the Deed a few days later. Excellent work and thoroughness by the Drewes Law Team!
David, Annie and Jonathan were fantastic to work with and I would recommend them to anyone needing Real Estate law representation.

I was involved in an auto accident and hired Mr. Erhart to represent me. He spoke in terms I could understand and explained the Minnesota no-fault laws to my family. I’m going to be completely honest here, Duffy is often one of, if not THE smartest person in every room she enters. J. Dudley kindly helped me resolve a case involving supposed 'damage' to an Avis rental car at DLH airport, and he was efficient, professional and timely in his response. Although I am sure it was a minor case for him, monetarily, it was a major headache and financial set-back for me when I received a claim after returning a rental car that there were 'scratches', which included a large, unreasonable bill for repair, LOU and administrative fees regardless of the fact I had photos of the car upon return showing no damages that I had caused, and an eye-witness who also verified in writing that there was no damage to car. Avis customer service dept. would not help me as they claimed that car was independently owned, of which I was never forewarned by Avis or Priceline, and only later learned that company had terrible BBB ratings and multiple complaints by clients for claims of supposed damage to cars after return. I had no leverage to deal with the rental car owner, but J. Dudley resolved the matter in 1 week and the claim was cancelled, which was a huge relief for me. I had felt powerless against a huge rental car company who unscrupulously tacked on various large fees for supposed scratches after car had already been returned undamaged to Avis airport parking lot, and was very grateful for Mr. Dudley very quickly eliminating this claim. I also appreciated that he has a sense of humor, acts human, and treats his clients with respect and concern.

In 2012, my husband and I were in a bad car accident that landed us in a level-1 trauma center in Minneapolis. Only a few hours after arriving I received a call from my nephew, a prominent lawyer in Philadelphia (PA), who instructed me not to speak with any lawyers until he found me "the best" in the Cities -- and he was true to his word. John Dornik came highly recommended and has certainly lived up to his reputation. Not only did John prove himself to be a deft negotiator with a masterful grasp of injury law, he is a warm and compassionate human being who never thought twice about making himself available to help us navigate the endless medical and disability forms, or to simply offer a word of encouragement or advice. It is no understatement to say that I'm not sure what we would have done without him!
And when it came to negotiating the settlement, he made sure we understood the process and that he had a clear idea of our goals. With the insurance company, he was firm and reasoned.

Sam was recommended to us by a friend after my boyfriend got a confusing traffic ticket that required him to go to court. Sam was courteous right off the bat, and went out of his way to explain what everything meant and keep us informed through out the process. He was able to get my boyfriend out of the ticket completely and also was able to get the court date moved so we didn't have to deal with it the same week we were moving. The day of, my boyfriend didn't even have to set foot in the courtroom, Sam took care of everything. Afterwards, he followed up with us. Going to traffic court felt like it was going to be a total nightmare, and Sam made it as easy and comfortable an experience as possible. He was also very reasonably priced. I had interviewed several lawyers before deciding on Maureen. Many of the other ones told me that I could file right away but she told me I had to wait 90 days or my claim could be thrown out. Mr. Blaschko handled my Chapter 13 bankruptcy a few years ago. The results were excellent. He was able to use a delay on the trustee's part to get a quite favorable plan approved. I was able to complete my plan successfully. Mr. Blaschko handled the annoying details too, like a creditor who kept making excuses for not providing a lien release even after their claim was paid in full.
