I purchased an investment property in Ft Myers 2005. With the banks approval I tried to short sell the property, upon receipt of a sale they couldn't find who actually held the mortgage. I defaulted in 2009. In 2013 the PMI company initiated a proceeding via several different law/collection agencies. Mr.. Gregory Champeau, esq. defended me as they had also decided to seek financial reimbursement from my wife who wasn't legally part of the transaction. He was successful in that the judgement would only apply to me. My assets were all TBE (except for one) which prevented collection. In 2019 the collections agency became more aggressive, Patrick Neale, esq, was brought in as his expertise in addressing various attempted garnishments and his litigation skills were needed to address various court hearings initiated by the collections agency. It was discovered that an investment account me and my wife opened in 2005 was set up as Joint Ownership with Survivor Benefits. Unbeknownst to me a JWROS account is not afforded the same level of protection as a TBE account. Mr Neale was able to draw upon case law and present it in a fashion that helped to bring closure. The end result is that with Patrick Neale's legal expertise and Mr Gregory Champeau negotiations skills I did agree upon a favorable settlement. The only other option was to be continuously harassed by the collections agency for years to come.

Obtained Mr. Amos for a custody case, paid a $400 fee to hear my story and the fee was never added to my retainer. Months went by with substantial changes, contacted his office by calling and email and my case was worse as the months went by. Retainer was refunded of course with a fee so in the end Mr. Amos made $750 for his bogus, legal contract both party’s signed. This attorney is overwhelmed and word of mouth in town is not a good one. I wish I knew what I know now. I would have felt better giving the money he made off of me to someone that really needed it, if I must. Do not WASTE your time. You do matter!

I recognized that I was going to be a difficult client and that i needed an attorney who could gain my trust. Not only did Kent win my trust he also showed that he is a great in court when he won a dismissal of domestic violence injunction filed against me by an ex.

The highest confirmation of skill a lawyer can receive is when another lawyer elects to retain their services. I did just that in the frivolous ex-spouse matter that came from left field against me nearly 8 years after my divorce. Kent Amos is a lawyers lawyer. While it is a confirmation of confidence it can also be overwhelmingly difficult on the lawyer. Kent handled it masterfully. I have and will continue to refer matters to Kent without hesitation. Don’t let the 5 star reviews fool you! If you enjoy wasting your hard earned money on a lazy, worthless attorney, then by all means, proceed with James. He’ll talk a good game until it’s time to act on it, and then you’re left with $10,000 less in your account and someone who bent you over the table. And no, not in the fun way! Not only did we have a slam dunk case, which he said from the beginning, he failed to actually follow through retaining information and pursuing further. He just took the $$ and that was it.

Kevin Lottes was hired to close the sale of my condominium in Naples Florida and file my application for FIRPTA. After telling me he had extensive. experience in this area he not only failed to make the necessary application in a timely manner, he failed to intercede on my behalf when problems occurred with an opposing counsel and passed on my file to someone else in his firm without notifying me and never responded further to any emails. I am now having to wait perhaps up to a year to recover tens of thousands dollars from the IRS unnecessarily. Based on this experience I cannot recommend this lawyer.
