Was referred to this firm by multiple people/ lawyers. I shouldn't have even wasted my time. Got more of a story about how they sympathize for my situation but basically because I'm a federal employee I'm not entitled to the same rights of protection as the general public, according to them. This is even with a judgment from the county court in my favor in regards to the matter. They just simply couldn't help with the employment matter. I suggest looking elsewhere for legal help.

I first hired a different attorney at a large firm to help with an issue I had with a general contractor who was threatening me. She told me that I was hosed; Because of the contract I had signed, this bully of a GC had me over a barrel. Before I forked over ~$30k to the bully GC, I contacted Tymon Berger.
Thank heavens I did. Tymon took the time to investigate the contract, the GC, and the situation. He listened to what I had to say -- something that not every attorney does. He understood my wishes and followed them clearly. And he came up with a clear and fair strategy to help me.
I never had to pay another dime to the GC. We settled amicably.
Tymon is a great communicator. He managed my expectations well and always followed through on commitments. Working with him was such a positive experience.
I pale to think that I almost forked over $30k (for work not completed) just because that previous lawyer didn't care to listen or bother. So yeah, Tymon is my hero.

There are lawyers who try win for you by cheating and lying. If they dont succeed then it will be the client who looks bad in the end. Marguerite Smith is one who will represent the best in you by doing things the right way and winning with ethics. I didn't exactly win, but had I not had Marguerite as my attorney then I might have lost greatly. Marguerite is the best lawyer you can get. We had a very difficult and complex case together, no one else could have won. She was always spot on, and her advice and strategy has been excellent. She is also well connected with her network of top colleagues she can draw from. I only can highly recommend her, don't go anywhere else if you want to win the best for your child. Her billing is clearly structured, reasonable and just. Apart from being an outstanding expert in family law she is also a wonderful, highly intelligent down to earth person, who will understand your needs and fight for your best interests. If you want to get the best out of your case, I would highly advise you, to work close WITH her- she is an excellent team worker, as better you you work with her and provide her with all she will ask you for as better she can work with you for you. At court in litigation she excels even higher, she has been always quicker and one step ahead of opposite council before they even realize what happened. Ms. Smith helped during a long and difficult international divorce involving child custody issues. Besides being very knowledgeable, she is also very organized and proactive. Throughout the whole process, she clearly explained the alternatives and their consequences. I hired Bill to help me write an employment agreement that was closely tied to the merger and acquisition of my company. The deal was contingent on the employment agreement and he was able to work with me, and also with the acquiring firms attorneys to craft an agreement which was mutually acceptable to all parties.

We had given a rather large sum, over a million dollars, to a non profit organization for the purchase of a religious center. The management failed to do so and even secretly used the funds to invest in a fund. Unfortunately, we did not have a contract or document but just a 2 line email to prove what the money was not a general donation but given for a specific need. It was sheer luck that I found Hozaifa and to this day I say he was a Godsend. He handled the case so beautifully that we won every single motion. The non profit played every dirty game they could and even hired an expensive law firm but their lawyers were no match. Hozaifa was smart, articulate, impressive and very thorough. She is also exceptionally gifted at determining what is really motivating the parties - what they need to resolve in order to settle the case. She figures that out and helps guide the lawyers in a way that will achieve a settlement. However, she also has a keen insight as to whether a case will or won't settle. I came to contact Mr. Jackson after I had previously paid a local firm who basically bailed on me in fear of the government that I was up against, after I paid their retainer. Then, having no resolution, and nothing more than wasted time (a couple of years), and I myself doing more work than the firm, I reached out to business associates who put me in touch with the firm of Mark Jackson. My case was one that many attorneys would turn from because it was a small, woman owned business against the federal government, but not once did Mr. Jackson suggest that I back down, or that we didn't have a chance. He pursued, researched, and stayed the course, and I can honestly say that through it all, Mark Jackson had my best interest at heart, and he believed in what I was fighting for. In the end, in regards to my case, Mr. Jackson was able to negotiate a fair settlement, without my having to go to trial, and the settlement that was agreed upon was more than I could have proven had we gone to trial. My only regret with Mark Jackson is that he is not local to handle all of my business as well as personal legal matters. Looking at ways to invest my IRA outside of stocks and bonds, I started looking around on the real pros and cons of self directed IRAs. The custodians seem a little too casual and unconcerned about the risks if a mistake is made. Having a father who lost his home to the IRS, and having recently had my business audited I am concerned about the long-term risks of this path.
Luckily after searching around I found Warren's articles about the topic, and learned a bit more.
Warren's articles were the only material I could find that had a pragmatic view and explained some concerns along with the benefits of SDIRAs.
I happen to live in the same city as Warren, and met with him for his crash course intro to self directed IRAs.
I can say he seems like a straight forward, experienced, honest attorney with deep knowledge in this area, and if I move forward with a self directed IRA I will definitely seek his help as I proceed.
